What an eye 👁 catcher as your passing through main street of Lemmon You almost have to stop and take a walk through the park and view the rock trees of an ancient past Someone was hanging Xmas lights on some of the rock displays I mentioned every display should be lighted up She replied not enough lights I said if everyone in the community donated a string of lights then there'd be enough and it would be so cool see lite up and not just one color but multiple colored lighting 😀

This was my favorite stop of the whole weekend, so much to see all the different colors of wood make the park so beautiful! There is a museum that is a must to check out, they have it all! And And floor is big pieces of petrified wood, this stop was only about 40 mins out of our way and boy we are sure glad we went, check it out you will not be disappointed!

It was closed for the season, but we poked around. Very cool to see all of the different formations. Lots of fun for my youngest son to see the dinosaur claw scratch marks and bones. We are going to come back when it's open to check out the museum and gift shop.

What a surprise to find sculptor an interesting place just off the highway. There are several hundred "sculptures mostly made from petrified wood. There is also an interesting museum with local history. worth a stop if you are traveling up highway 12.

This is a must see if you are nearby, so many pieces and very beautiful. The grounds could be a little nicer, but overall a great little reason for going to Lemmon SD

This is a unique place that gives off "Outsider Art" vibes, and it's in a cool little art town on the ND/SD border. Try to catch Caroline or JB to give you some background info... they are very gracious hosts!

Successfully convinced my friends to come here on the final leg of our road trip. Well worth the quick stop. It is obviously nothing breathtaking, but it is a pleasant roadside attraction, and if you are in the area, there’s no reason not to check it out. Very cool arrangements of petrified wood everywhere that breaks to monotony of your typical local park. Furthermore, the museum inside provides an interesting hodgepodge of historical prairie artifacts.

This park was such a cool place. Petrified wood statuesque like things. A castle, a well. Kids can run around and have fun! So can adults!

I love roadside attractions but if that’s not for you check out Kokomo studio down the road. This is just pure fun

The park closed on Labor Day for the season so the five stars are based on my walking around, looking at the petrified wood and signage that was posted. Great place for pictures. Didn’t look like parking would ever be a problem. If the park was open there would be restrooms available. The Petrified Wood Park is only one of the tourist attractions close to Lemmon so I can see a whole day spent in Lemmon.
