Beautiful property and great wine for those who don't necessarily enjoy the traditional wine taste. Will say that it is a bit more of a dessert wine place, but that doesn't detract from the value whatsoever. Good food and good company! However, the food is extortionate for what it is. It is good, but do not expect to get a side with any of the sandwiches.

This is one of my favorite destinations in the Southern Hills. We love their wines, and the variety of options they have. Most recently we stopped for our anniversary, and it was wonderful as always. Staff was friendly and helpful. We will always recommend Prairie Berry!

Prairie Berry always seems to be a magical or fulfilling experience. They have a broad food menu as well. Even if you are not looking to drink a glass of wine at the time the food is not something to pass up. We went to a wedding this past weekend at Prairie Berry. Although we had been there many times, we had never realized the capabilities of this place. Food and wine were fantastic. Service was great and the atmosphere was very impressive.

We didn’t plan to visit any winery while we were traveling there a few days ago. But the Prairie Berry Winery was on our way to the Crazy Horse memorial. So we decided to give it a try and to see if we could eat there too.Good thing we tasted complementary 5 wines by our choices, but couldn’t eat there as the kitchen was closed on that day. A lady (I’m not good at names :/) did the tasting and talked about the story behind the family winery as we were eager to know. She was kinda sarcastic and fun if I can say that. We wished she explained more about the wines as she did with some other guests.Since we were road tripping from a different state, we decided to purchase some South Dakota wines and cheeses. There were an old farmer couple who were doing their cheese tasting at the winery. I enjoyed talking with them and bought some local farm cheeses too.Overall, the whole experience was not bad. I would recommend to stop by the winery.

I love this place! I did my first wine tasting here, and it was really fun! The associate that served us the wine was really knowledgeable and friendly. They also have a hot mulled wine that was delicious. The food is wonderful, too, can't go wrong with any of the sandwiches. It's very pleasant to hang out here, very nice atmosphere. The prices match the quality; I will mostly only visit on special occasions due to that. Highly recommend for a great experience! 👍👍

Great stop along the road if you’re passing by. Free tasting and some unique wines. Very reasonably priced too. Plus a cool outdoor place to sit and relax enjoying a bottle.

This place does the tasting separate from any food you can order. It's is harder to decide on wine tastes if you have nothing to cleanse your palette in between wines. But we had a few of their wines before so I just picked one I thought I remembered. Then ordered food. They were good with the gluten free options. Went outside and sat a couple of spots only to be finally chased inside by flies, bees. The wasps finally were the ones to cause us to move inside. Allergies to wasp stings. But the inside eating area wasn't nearly as nice as their outside areas. All in all we will go back sometime. Their wine and their food is good even through I am not crazy about their process.

Wine tasting / wine was great!!! I am disappointed in myself for forgetting to ask if the wine is gluten free / how they age the wine.. I called twice one hour before they close but no one answered or called back. Now I don’t wanna drink any of the wine I bought until I hear back from them.. if I do. 😩

The Prairie Berry Winery is a great afternoon destination while traveling through the Black Hills area. They've really set it up well with abundant outdoor seating in multiple locations, tasting room, kitchen, bar, game/play outdoor area, and a shop with merch, wines (of course), and grab and go eats.I did a wine flight with the sandwich and salad lunch combo. I personally didn't love the wines I tried, but the food was fantastic, and affordably priced for the portion size. I also grabbed some SD local cheese, meat sticks, curds for later hiking/picnicking, which was great. The employees I encountered were friendly and I would definitely reco this as a stop for friends passing through the area.

Ryan was very knowledgeable and friendly! He guided us on which wines to taste based on our likings. We enjoyed each of our wines that we tasted and left with a few bottles to enjoy later that weekend. We will definitely be back and hope to get Ryan as our waiter.

Awesome staff and delicious wines! Right next to a brewery so there is something for everyone. They have a nice cheese selection as well. Outside are nice patio areas and yard games.

I have to make it clear that the caesar salad I had here was one of the worst I have ever had. And yet I give this place five stars. That is because everything, and I mean everything everyone else had was spectacular. I know this because the rest of the table took pity on me and shared. It was straight up life affirming. Except for the salad I had. They all thought that God hated me somehow, and this was vengeance. The conversation devolved into what I must have done in a past life to deserve this.It is as though the owners had to pay penance for the eradication of the Mistletoe Ranch and this salad was offered as a dark sacrifice to the Anti-Claus, who is the exact opposite of Santa Claus. He takes all joy from the world and replaces it with spiteful salad. Seems weird. I know, but I don’t make the Christmas anti Christmas rules. Why was it bad? Well, the salad is just a wedge. I know that is what it said on the menu. I know. I know. I just keep waiting for the one time it works well. See, the issue is that you have to cut it. I am not opposed to work. But work is all about the right tools. And they equip you with plastic flatware for this task. Also, they do get a point for making their own dressing. They lose like five for getting it wrong. It is way vinegary and has a bite of a vindictive parakeet.I could say more. But that was kind of it. There was some cheese.I think. But the vindictive parakeet sauce overpowered it. Which is the first time a parakeet of any kind overpowered anything.Ever.Score one for parakeets everywhere.A quick note to the chefs. Please don’t take this too hard. You are operating on a level that is heavenly. You just suck at caesar salad. And that is ok.Play to your strengths.I love you.Get well soon.

My husband and I came here on our anniversary trip and we were truly impressed. The wine tasting was a fun, interactive way to learn about the wines and the history of the place. All of the wines we tried were great, and there is a wide variety to choose from. After our tasting we got lunch and split a bottle on the patio. The food was good as well, and the patio was beautiful. Bought four bottles to bring home. We would 100% come back here again!

One of my favorite Venues I've photographed by far. Great atmosphere with a clean rusted aesthetic. If you are looking to get married in the Hills, I highly recommend Prairie Berry Winery.

Dawn was a wonderful person. She had great knowledge of the wines that we were trying. Granted I’m not a big fan of rhubarb at the best of times, so the quality of the wine I can’t speak to. But the atmosphere, the set up, the location, it was all great!

Gave me a whole new view on wine! If you like strawberry rhubarb pie, you'll definitely enjoy the Red Ass. Carol was informative and friendly while providing a quick history of each bottle of wine. Picked up quite a few bottles to take with and signed up to get more delivered when I get home!

An elegant winery nestled in the heart of the Black Hills. The wines are superbly crafted, focusing mostly on sweet and fruity varieties. They also provide an assortment of artesian food, including pizza, open-face and flat-grilled sandwiches, and artisanal plates. The ambiance is warm and inviting. The only downside I could find was the lack of seating for larger groups, and mix of friendly and unfriendly staff. My wine server was fine, but our food server was less than excited to serve us. Overall, a pleasant experience. One last note: leave the kids at home. Their attempts at "kid-friendly" leave much to be desired.

We enjoyed this little winery. The wine tasting was nice. And the wines were good. I enjoyed a yummy fruzo (something or another) slushie and sat outside to enjoy this lovely view. :)Good place to relax, Mark was a wine taste server and he was nice and pretty knowledgeable...I enjoyed the history behind the place as well.

Amazing wine and horrible food. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich and french onion soup as well as a gluten free chocolate dessert with my wife. We also ordered the gold digger wine which was fantastic along with all their other wine. The chocolate dessert was fine, but the French onion soup had no cheese melted on top and was chocked full of more tomatoes than onions, so basically not a French Onion Soup, more of an onion and tomato soup. The chicken salad sandwich was not flavorful at all and extremely bland. The dried cranberries were even tasteless mixed in with everything else. They also said there were zero substitutions which I normally am ok with as long as the base meal is great, but was not at all. All in all very disappointed in contrast to how great their wines are.

Such a great place went here for a wine tasting. I've ordered their wines online to be shipped so I wanted to try some wines I've never had from winery. Got a wine tasting reservation and Alexis was so nice and knowledgeable during the wine tasting. This place is such a great winery. Staff are very friendly and love the location. Also love the brewery next door that is owned by them too is top notch as well!!😃

Visiting from Louisiana, stopped about 12:30 on a Friday and the wine tasting wait was 30 minutes but they told us we could go and order a flight of samples in the bar for $9, which we did. Lovely winery and ambiance with a modern farmhouse vibe. Wonderful samples. Bought a few bottles. Friendly fast service.

This is a MUST stop to appreciate a very premium winery in a beautiful setting. Chad did a GREAT job giving a history of the process as well as explaining all the different flavors. The taste just caused us to buy some to enjoy back home and remember South Dakota.

Consistently good wine. Prairie Berry Winery offers five free samples you pick from their wine list. None of the wines are overly astringent or icky sweet. They offer a a key that indicates how dry or sweet the profile of the wine is. The ingredients are sourced from the area and either feature 100% or majority make up for their depending on the recipe of the beverage.

This was our last stop for the day, after the Bear Country & the Railroad trip.We had a wonderful wine hostess...who was funny, & helpful. We ordered some food, & mine wasn't up to the cook's standards (per our server's exact words). So...they gave me the food they "messed up", to eat while I waited for the better food. They were so sweet...& I actually never even noticed any difference! Either way...food was great, staff was wonderful, the wine was amazing, & the atmosphere was beautiful!
