For a 2-star hotel, this exceeded expectations. Still feels fairly new, and the rooms, lobby, and breakfast area were all very clean. Comfortable beds and spacious rooms. The hot breakfast included eggs and sausage, and coffee is in the lobby 24x7. Would recommend staying here if coming to the Black Hills. Close enough to all of the sites (and driving to the sites is half the fun). Deer outside in the parking lot feeding in the grass everyday is an added bonus.

The Comfort Inn & Suites Near Mt. Rushmore was an excellent place to stay for our trip to the Black Hills. It is mostly centrally located to all the local attractions. Hill City had wonderful places to eat and great boutiques to shop. I highly recommend this hotel. It is extremely clean and comfortable. It has a great pool and hot tub complex as well. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars all the way across the board is because the mattress in our room was a little hard for my taste. Other than that, please make this the place you stay on your trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota!

Our Cabin was canceled last minute. Was disappointed to have to stay in a hotel. This hotel was really nice, good breakfast and a decent sized small fridge with a separate door for the freezer enough to keep lunch items cold. We also appreciated the ice machine to be able to take a cooler of food with us for lunches. Would stay here again. Pool and hot tub was clean.

Room is not well cleaned! They only make the bed. The sink was still dirty. They didn’t replace cups and coffee. When we call for a replacement they said they don’t have enough people to bring it to them. The towels were wet, they obviously put the ones we used back in the shelf. Cheap breakfast: only fake egg and ugly patties. No potatoes no oat! A few pieces of bread. We went at 8:45 not at the last minute they didn’t even have any cup available near the coffee machine. The second day, we came back at 3.30 pm, our room was not ready! The walls are like cigarette paper, we can hear people talking and taking shower and more…! They don’t even make the bed right ( see pictures)! It’s a joke!! staffs are not professional at all! I highly do NOT recommend this hotel

Clearly I do not share the same issues that others had with the hotel. We stayed for a week at this hotel and it was well located amongst the various different spots we wanted to visit in the Black Hills area. Hearing the 1880 train daily was a fun experience for the kids, they'd watch the steam blows and the train as it went by.The room itself was great, it was a two queen, one king room with an actual separated room for the king bed. The kids each got their own bed and we (wife and I) got our own bedroom, which was nice. They didn't clean every day, which, fine, but at least would check and replace towels daily. The room was clean and nice.Breakfast was fine - usually either scrambled eggs and sausage links or egg omelets w/ american cheese. There was also waffles and other continental options. Not sure why people are complaining - it was fine. Sure, it didn't have potatoes or other items, but whatever, it was included. The kids enjoyed the pool but I do agree with some of the sentiments about the chemicals being quite strong in the air. Some sort of ventilation would be great. The internet - this was a miss. When it worked, the speeds were good. The issue really was around the fact that it'd forget your device and you'd need to re-authenticate. Usually you'd have to forget the wifi and then re-add it to get it to work again. Not my favorite thing, but fine - it just happened more often than I wanted it to.Finally, I wanted to give a shoutout to the front desk staff, the kid and I wanted to play some Magic the Gathering and they went and turned on the breakfast area lights for us when we asked.

We stay at different Comfort Inns a lot and they’re not my favorite but they tend to be inexpensive. THIS Comfort Inn near Mt Rushmore is awesome, though! It’s VERY clean and in a perfect state of repair. My kids run around on our room floor with bare feet and they’re still CLEAN! Our room is cleaned every single day, too, a rarity in these pandemic times. We’ve kept bottles and a pitcher of formula in the fridge all day and night and they neither freeze or get too warm. There is a freezer compartment in the mini fridge that works wonderfully to keep our ice packs for our diaper bag frozen. Also, this hotel is close to everything and the staff has been very nice. Highly recommend. If we come back we will definitely stay here.

Very clean, staff was nice. The family room and game room downstairs was nice to utilize. We had a two bedroom suite because we have a large family and that was so nice to have. Close to town.

My stay at the Comfort Inn was not great. The king suite I reserved was huge, very clean and smelled fresh. However, the staff members were not rude, but not nice or friendly either which is important to me. I like to feel welcomed instead of like an interruption to be handled and moved along. My biggest complaint was the thinness of the walls. I could hear the television of a room near me blasting all night long the entire time I was there. I gave up on trying to sleep which was not easy with my sight seeing schedule. I would most likely not return because of this.

Very clean. Forgot a few supplies for our room, but still been very nice. Hot tub is very enjoyable. Would be nice if the TVs were smart, instead of cable. Overall, I'd still give it five, even barring the missing toiletries (which was remedied).

There isn’t much they could do better. Breakfast was above average. The hotel is new and well maintained. The room was extremely clean. The staff was friendly and helpful and I can think of a very few things they could do to improve this hotel. If I must make a suggestion I would say that the facial tissue and toilet paper are both very cheap and not soft. It almost hurts to blow your nose. The only other thing I found out of order was an exterior door that was not allowing entry with the electronic key card. Staff assured me they will have it fixed soon. This hotel is way above average and I’m not sure why Google shows it as a two star hotel. Three star hotel with 10/10 for clean and quality.

This is an amazing hotel for the price. Quiet, clean, comfortable beds, perfect location. FULL breakfast - eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy - in a nice dining room. Coffee and cold water always available. Desk staff friendly, present, and competent. Easy walk to downtown Hill City. We ran in the Run Crazy Horse marathon and it was easy to walk over to the bus pick up from the hotel. We were seriously impressed. STAY HERE!

The location was good. The staff were overworked and tired. The breakfast was a joke. Did not even have real coffee. Pool and hot tub were in desperate need of maintenance and attention. Would not recommend this property. We were staying i Choice hotels for over half of this vacation but we would not stay at this property again.Al

The hotel was very nice and clean. We stayed in a 3 queen bed suite which was great with family. That is a nice perk that other hotels should offer for larger families. The amenities were nice too including pool & hot tub and a video gaming room. The staff was friendly and helpful. We were disappointed with no hot breakfast and the grab bags offered were a sad substitute. There are few options in Hill City for breakfast and the added cost of eating out for breakfast was frustrating. Overall, we were pleased with the hotel and I would recommend it.

So the room was clean and really nice. The front desk staff were helpful and had no issues with them. What did have an issue with are all the rude guests letting their doors slam shut at all hours of the night. Good luck getting sleep past 8am. It's not hard to keep the door from slamming. There is no turnover service while stay. If you need towels ask and the most the cleaners do is change your trash. After you leave they clean though. Nice hotel, room, and staff but the guests are the worst.

This hotel was very clean and quiet. The employees were friendly and very helpful when we needed more towels or had any questions. Hill City is a nice in between spot between Mt Rushmore in Keystone, Custer State Park and Crazy Horse Memorial as welll as Deadwood. My critiques... The room darkening curtains wouldn't ever close fully so light leaked in and made it difficult to sleep. We had to use a hair clip to keep the blinds together to keep the light from the parking lot out at night. We also had a room on the bottom floor by the pool. The pool chemicals were so strong we could smell them in our room and we both got headaches and a bit nauseated the first night. By the 2nd night, we didn't notice it as much.

This hotel is fabulous. We arrived at 9am after staying in a nightmare hotel the night before. They got us a room ready right then so we could shower and start our day. They were so kind to fix us Breakfast even after they had begun taking it up for the day. The lobby is beautiful and smells great. The rooms were so clean and spaceious. The staff is wonderful. We have been thur 8 other state on this trip and this is by far the best hotel we have stayed at yet.

We were so pleased with our stay! This hotel is clean, courteous and the lo station is perfect. We drove here to see Mount Rushmore and Bear Country, this hotel is 20 mins away from either. The parking is plenty. And the breakfast is alright. There’s not enough tables but it’s honestly better if we just take it to our room anyway. Not a deal breaker. There was cheese omelettes, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, cereal, a waffle maker, bagels and muffins. There wasn’t too much I could have since I can’t eat dairy, but I brought my own food. The water was hot and our room ac worked great! There’s blackout blinds so you can go to sleep whenever you need. There’s a coffee maker in the room, a microwave and fridge. At the reception area they have a pantry if you want to buy overpriced food items. For instance, a can of Pepsi was $3.The pool and spa was refreshing and clean. And the gym had good equipment including a few treadmills and weights. There’s an Xbox room and a Business Center. All of these amenities are in the basement. We recommend!

Pretty decent hotel for the price. It was built in 2016, I believe, so it had a couple years on it when we stayed but everything was clean and in good shape. The complimentary breakfast was the normal fare and quality. They did do GREAT job of keeping everything stocked during breakfast. The pool was a little small and the hot tub needed cleaning the entire time we stayed there (3 days).

I gave it 4 stars due to the breakfast being practically non-existent and the price being the same as always. Other than that, the hotel is clean, modern, quiet and beds are comfy. Great location to travel from if exploring Keystone, Deadwood and Rapid City. The Main Street of Hill City is literally within walking distance and the little town is great! Even have your choice of wineries within the little town! :)

I can't say enough good things about this hotel. I was thoroughly impressed. Staff was awesome, breakfast was hot and plentiful. Room was fantastic - Clean, comfortable spacious (for what you're paying). Common areas and pool area were super clean and inviting. Really recommend this hotel if you're staying in the area.

We loved our stay at this hotel! We’ve been to the area 4 times now and normally stay in Keystone. This location is so much better. You’re still a stones throw from all the attractions but the proximity to a small grocery, gas stations and a variety of restaurants makes this ideal. We love how new, fresh and spacious it felt, our room was close to the pool, guest laundry etc....A+ Staff was exceptionally friendly as well! We’ll come again for sure.

This is a very nice motel in small town Hill City we love how close it is to all of the attractions in the area. The rooms are big and have high ceilings to make them feel bigger. The shower was great with lots of hot water and the shower head was taller than my 6'3"" husband. Nice little counter area for coffee with a mini fridge/freezer plus a microwave all in like new condition. Modern flat screen TV plus a nice size closet to hang clothes. We have zero complaints. Breakfast was delicious all five mornings and always hot coffee or tea.

The staff and hotel were unbelievable. I was offered an extra night at a great rate and enjoyed our 4 night stay! The pool and the Xbox room were awesome! The cleaning staff was great each day in our room and the front counter staff could not have been more helpful! This is centrally located in the Hills and a perfect spot to start and end each day. The rooms were very nice, the hotel is newer, the breakfast was good (free!), and very safe.Great place, great price, clean rooms, great stay - perfect vacation. I will always look to stay here first when returning to the Hills.

We reserved 2 rooms and asked for them to be close to each other and they were, which was nice. One was a queen suite. The second day we were there, we did not get new towels or our trash removed. We asked at the front desk and they were very nice and had new towels brought up. They didn't replace the complimentary items like the cups or soap. That is something I'm used to from other hotels, I suppose. The queen suite bathroom smelled like throw-up the whole duration of our stay. Weird... other than that, both rooms seemed very clean.
