My wife Elaine and I happened upon eating at the Deadwood Miners restaurant last year in October. We came up this year for her birthday and ate here at the restaurant, only we stayed in hotel somewhere else. But this is why we came here because it’s such great breakfast food and home cooked dishes. Our server Velma was so friendly and she had such a happy attitude and did a great job serving us.. Also the cook for our noon day meal did excellent job of cooking on 12th of March 2024.We went to the Badlands later and came back that evening, and had great service by Gary , who also had a great attitude, smile and laughter. We sure appreciate the hospitality and the good food and made our trip very enjoyable, You can depend on getting a good home cooked meal here.John & Elaine, Westminster ColoradoFood & drinks: Deadwood Miner restaurant was very friendly, excellent choice of breakfast food and lunches/dinners. Homemade and home cooked!

I didn't stay in a room so no comment or rating from me. Restaurant visit only. Came for a country fried steak and was told they only serve them til 1 daily. However they are available all day fri sat sun. I'll be back for those! Meanwhile, I enjoyed my steak sandwich and Michelle talked me into a Carmel roll (I think that's the name) so tasty!the staff is amazing :)

The room was a little older - but it was much larger than a newer hotel. The room was clean and the housekeeping staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Now, let's talk about the manager, Connie, she was so informative it was like having a personal tour guide to all the best attractions in the area. The restaurant was great with homemade soups and a prime -rib sandwich to die for. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming into the area.

Decent stay at the Hotel! It's far from fancy but it was clean and comfortable. We stayed for 4 nights and for the price it wasn't bad. Everything else on the main drag was way more expensive and even though it was a bit of a walk to historic main street, it wasn't bad. There is a trolley in town but we didn't use it. A few things to note:1) The room smelled a bit musty to me at first. Either it went away after a day or two of using the AC or I just got used to it.2) The website shows a nice looking hot tub, which was clearly not in service and hadn't been for a while, so don't count on using that.3) They didn't offer room cleaning during our stay which was fine, we didn't really need it but did have to go back to the lobby to ask for towels a couple times.4) The restaurant had great breakfast but the poor guy working was trying to wait tables, bus tables, and be the cashier all at once. Right as we were leaving, his help showed up but it seems they may be a bit understaffed.Other than that it was a pleasant stay! We spent most of our time on Main Street and really just came back to the room to sleep, so we didn't spend much time in it but it was a decent room for a decent price in my opinion. The lady working at the front desk was also really polite, even let us check in early after making sure our room had been cleaned. We would stay here again!

Older motel that shows some wear, like creaky floor and noisy bathroom fan, but beds and linens were clean as was the bathroom. Staff were amazing. The restaurant is well worth a few minute wait. Great food and surprisingly fast service!Nearby activities: Deadwood trolley stops are very close by and convenient! Worth the couple bucks to listen to the driver crack jokes and point out landmarks and wildlife while on board.

Stayed here last night. We had it booked for about a month in advance and knew it was priced high due to Sturgis. I expected it to be bad and had my wife and son prepared, but once we got into the room it was worse than I ever expected. The smell was unexplainable. Ceiling tiles were stained and there were gross things on the carpet wherever it was not easy to vacuum. The room was cold and felt damp and the heat did not work. This place is so outdated and worn out, that I don't think a remodel will be enough. I had to fix the door to the bathroom, the handle would not work because the screws were so loose. We used about a full can of Febreze to get the smell somewhat covered up so we could sleep. No bed bugs in our room but there were 3 flies I had to hunt down. The ladies at the desk were friendly to us, and that is the only good thing I can say about this hotel.

We visited the restaurant. We did not stay in this hotel. The restaurant was delightful, even though Gary was shortstaffed and overwhelmed. He remained cheerful and smiling, gave good service and the food was delicious and generous. He was not even offended when I served the entire restaurant coffee several times!Food & drinks: Very good.

Review for the restaurant only. Over the past couple of years, this place has undergone numerous changes. However, one thing that remains consistent is the friendly and welcoming staff. Keep in mind that breakfast hours can get busy, so it's wise to plan accordingly. If you happen to indulge in a few too many cocktails the night before, consider getting a hot beef plate to go, generously topped with extra gravy. It might just be the perfect remedy to solve all your problems.

The hotel is in a great location. Friendly staff, but they are begging for help. The rooms are comfortable, but mine seemed to be a tad cramped. Also... not enough convenient electrical outlets for all my electronic equipment to be charged overnight.Wifi is spotty and iffy. Great little town with lots of interesting sights. Hotel is a good bargain if you can overlook my pet peeved.

At time of arrival we asked to have charges put on a card we handed them but instead they put it on the card that was givin to hold room then they overcharged us and it took over a month to get that worked out.The room was down a dingy hallway with a nasty inoperable spa that was full of mold ,to the right.Staff was nice enough butI would never stay there again.

Great value in Deadwood. Hotels downtown were $250 -$450 per night and this was $75. Room was clean but the bed wasn't very comfortable. Staff was very nice. Had the prime rib dinner and it was reasonable price and very good. A little ways from downtown but Deadwood isn't that big so probably less than 5 minutes to the public parking lot.

Restaurant only. Obviously a locals cafe. Small crowd at 4:30 pm.Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes/cream gravy, salad.Hot, fast and waiter extremely on top of things. To-go offered.Even a senior discount. Couldn’t have been happier off the main drag. I’ll be back plenty on this vacation.

The food was delicious!! We were looking for a place that wasn't so packed and decided to check this place out. Five in our party, and we all loved our food. Our waitress, Sierra was awesome. Great place to eat.

We did not stay at the hotel so this review is restraunt based.Safety: As a local this is a very safe area to stay and eat.Food & drinks: Reasonable pricing and probably once of the cheapest restraunts in Deadwood. The food is comfort food so nothing special and they have a little of everything. This is the most convenience free parking and service in the area.

I almost feel bad having to write this review because for the most part the people running the hotel seemed like decent hard working people. The one dude that seemed to be the "jack of all trades" guy was especially decent, he claimed to be the maintenance man and even waited tables in the restaurant. The front office staff also seemed like they were splitting duty, taking on multiple jobs, but were for the most part good. The food in the restaurant was the definitely the highlight of our three night stay. The prime rib was exceptional and the breakfast was also great. But as you can tell from the one star rating there was obviously an issue and that issue was with the cleanliness of the rooms and the lack of a maid service during our three nights and four days at the hotel. The rooms are dated and in need of an overhaul. The AC unit did not work in our room and even set off the fire alarm at 5:30am the first morning we were there. The maids did not clean our room or even bring new towels during our entire stay. The one time one of our fellow travelers did ask about getting us some clean towels the lady at the front desk made a snarky comment about it asking him if we "shower together". BUT THE THING THAT PROMPTED ME TO WRITE THIS REVIEW IS THE FACT THAT THE ROOMS (not only ours but also our fellow travelers) WERE INFESTED WITH BEDBUGS!! WE BROUGHT THIS TO THE ATTENTION OF THE STAFF AND WERE TOLD THAT WE WOULD NEED PROOF FROM A DOCTOR THAT THEY WERE INDEED BEDBUGS! Well the wife went to the doctor yesterday and the bites are definitely bedbugs. We also have pictures of the bugs. We fumigated all of our belongings that we traveled with and heat treated the bike to hopefully kill any larva or live bugs that may have traveled with us but I wanted to warn our fellow travelers about the bugs.

We had a nice meal here (though we didn't stay in the hotel). The food was good, and was at a reasonable rate. The food was comparable to what I see elsewhere in cafes -- sandwiches, breakfast fare, etc. The waitresses could have been a bit more attentive.Someone vacuumed in a nearby room while we ate, which wasn't great for ambiance or conversation. My sense (as of fall 2022) is that they are short-staffed and that the hotel's (former?) casino space is being renovated -- as something. (Perhaps a future commenter will reveal what it became?) In any case, they had to close the diner for an hour or two due to the staffing issues. At least one waitress then went to work (I assume) on the rooms.

Restaurant has the best breakfast burritos, caramel rolls, and service you will find anywhere in the area. Parking is easy, not the mess of the center of town. Will definitely make this our breakfast staple on future visits.

I only eat at the restaurant and the food is excellent and the waitresses are simply fabulous. The food is outstanding. Lunch and dinner have a great variety to pick from. Breakfast is most satisfying 😌 😋. The specials which change daily are exceptional 😋 👌.Nearby activities: Downtown is 15 min walk Dollar Store right around the cornerSafety: Streets are safe to walk night or dayWalkability: Everything within ✨️

I can't believe The good reviews on here! We just stayed here Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. First of all ,the rooms were not very clean at all! The air conditioning did not work in any of the 3 rooms we booked! They would not replace our towels, or clean our rooms! We went to the main office ourselves to get the towels. One of our guys asked if he could get towels for all three rooms, and the tall red headed lady asked him if we all bathed together, and would not let him have the towels for our rooms. Very rude staff except for the gentleman working in the restaurant. The food there was good! After all of this, we ended up with Bed Bugs! Rooms 215 217 218 all had them! My luggage and all my clothes are outside in my front yard, being fogged, or in a freezer, trying to get rid of them! This place should be dozed down, and keep the food part!! Not even a refund of any kind was offered to us! They acted like the bed bug thing was no big deal! I would bet they rebooked those rooms as soon as we left! The health department will be notified by us ASAP!

It was ok but the price seems to vary and lots of taxes added on. We paid 129 which was over 140 after taxes for a weekday stay. If you have to go to Deadwood and don't want to pay over 200 dollars night it's a reasonable choice. However through no fault of this particular hotel the entire town has become a rip off and not affordable for the average tourist. With special events and Sturgis the hotels are always jacking up their rates. Hotels we stayed in last year for 100 are now over 259 a night, no longer family friendly and impossible for the average tourist. Its a rich mans town these days. I know there's inflation but this is ridiculous. If you want to gamble go to Vegas.
