The front desk manager welcomed us with a warm smile. She offered us a great rate for three rooms. And each room was reasonably clean. There were no additional blankets or comforters in the closet as there normally have been. But we were too tired to ask snd simply kept the room temperature warmer. The morning breakfast was well stocked. Everything was fresh. The dining area could stand to be bigger. You felt a bit rushed to finish in order to allow other guests to sit and eat. Overall it was a pleasant one-night stay for our family. The rooms / hotel could benefit from from some upgrades or repairs. For example, our door did not fully shut flush with the frame. And we unplugged our mini fridge due to louder than usual buzzing.Rooms: Rooms were average in terms of cleanliness and condition. The tv remote comes already in plastic, but the remote itself was unnecessarily complicated.

Great Holiday Inn Express! Clean, well run, comfortable beds, great breakfast, and excellent customer service. We were traveling with our 3 boys, arrived at 2am, and the front desk attendant was patient and thoughtful enough to remember sheets for the pull out couch. The next morning my 9 year and I were playing checkers in the lobby and I forgot my purse hanging on the back of the chair. Terri from the front desk texted me and let me know Ms Williams the GeneralManager had found my purse and they were holding it in the safe. Couldn’t be more thankful for the staff, Terri and Minteci Williams for there competence, awareness and customer service. Thank you kindly! So appreciative of you.Rooms: Comfortable, clean, spacious rooms with closets and walk in shower.Food & drinks: Great breakfast!Noteworthy details: Great staff! Clean, clean, clean! Comfy beds, walk in showers and nice breakfast and lobby area to relax before hitting the road again.

Stayed one night in a double queen suite. Staff were all very kind and accommodating. Although I didn't realize this was a dog friedly hotel, it was quiet for the most part. Beds and pilows were very comfortable, the room was spacious and a/c was great. The room could have been cleaned a bit better. There was a ring line in the toilet, some mold in shower, lint/debris around edges of the room and a brown stain on carpet between the beds which appeared to be dog poo. All in all hotel was okay but definitely needed better cleaning. Location was perfectly placed off the highway. I would stay here again, but hope cleaning gets better.

Honest review:Room 326 just incase management cares.Staff was friendly and professional.Parking had road cones in about 1/4 of the parking places, and the spots are a bit tight. I’m not a big dude and I was driving a sedan.Room initially looked fine, further investigation there was hairs on my bed and sink, toilet seat was loose, sink drains slowly, and tstat keeps resetting to 85 degrees. I’m sure they got a timer on them to set to 85 when not occupied. It sucks going to sleep when it’s 72 and waking up a couple hours later sweating bc it’s now 76 in the room. Now I’m woke up at 3am bc I’m sweating I also notice the pillows are worn out.Door doesn’t close well, and needs to be pulled firmly closed. It’s loud…Will I stay here again… probably not.If you like honest reviews please hit the like and or follow button.Have a great day!!!

Let me start out saying that I'm sorry to have to leave a 1 star review for a hotel that was clean and had pleasant staff. But, there were no parking spaces available when I arrived at 7pm. There were at least 15 cars that had no legal space to park in. There was an RV taking up 7 spaces by itself. Staff did not ask that person to move. This may sound like a complaint over a minor inconvenience, but it's a much bigger problem. I was directed to park illegally next to a shipping container. Had someone hit my car, I would have been held liable. This happened to a friend of mine who was once parked the wrong way on a street, and he was ticketed and had to pay the deductible of the person who hit him. Staff were informed of this problem, and they told me it has been a problem for years and that a staff member's car was once hit by an RV. This is a management problem. They should not allow RVs to take up spaces when there are not enough for everyone else, and this is coming from an RV owner. Furthermore, this is a violation of city ordinances for Walterboro, which has been reported. The Holiday Inn website says complimentary parking is provided for this hotel. If they can't honor their commitments, they shouldn't be renting the rooms. They need to post a "park at your own risk" sign because most guests probably don't know the potential liabilities the hotel is creating for those who don't get a space. Or perhaps the hotel needs to make a commitment and assume liability for any accidents that might occur. Sounds like, according to one of the employees, this isn't a new problem. Lastly, the IHG customer service representative said that the company is liable for parking since they directed me to park there, which she likely has no authority to promise. I was promised a return call from IHG or the hotel manager.I will take down the negative review if the hotel can show me they fixed the problem.Update 1/12:Neither IHG customer service nor the hotel manager returned my call as promised. The had some excuse about "there was a problem with the interstate," which is both untrue and unrelated to the complaint. They also told me that customers are liable for parking, which is obviously true, but is contrary to the customer service representative from IHG who said they would be liable for customers directed to illegally park.

We arrived fairly late (11:00 P.M. or so), but the man at the desk was very kind and cheerful. The rooms were clean and with very high ceilings (11-ish ft?), but the washroom required a bit more cleaning along the outside of the bottom of the shower. The beds were very nice, however. I don't know about you, but, personally, it annoys me when hotel beds have 10,000 blankets and sheets on them, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that these ones only had 1 sheet (other than the one over the mattress) and 1 blanket. The blanket also had a cover, which I find to be quite rare for a hotel, so I was very happy about that too, because having a blanket in between 2 sheets instead of having it in an actual cover seems rather half-hearted to me and just genuinely bothersome. Breakfast was ok, but the lady who was cleaning it up at the end was very kind and came over to our table to offer us the remaining muffins. I was also locked out of my room, so I had knocked on it for my dad to open it, but he was in the shower, so the janitor lady nearby offered me her card to open the door. Very kind staff: 5 stars for them.

I want to start off by saying that I would go back to this hotel just because of how sweet and accommodating the two women in the morning at the breakfast area were (Mary and Dee)! The hotel was clean and cozy for a quick overnight stay while traveling north. Honestly, if you need a comfy clean place to sleep while traveling, this is a good place. Will definitely keep it in mind when traveling up and down in 95.

As a frequent travelerI often seek out Holiday Inn Express. The room we was in last night simply was never cleaned In between stays. There was other peoples hair EVERYWHERE. Out of 8 pillows in the room, every one had hair on them. Same could be said with most of the towels. There was hair by the sink and in the shower. The desk had crumbs and a sticky substance on it..The funny thing is there is a red paper asking for positive reviews on the desk. Even this paper was covered in wet crumbs that soiled the paper.Rooms: Dirty rooms that was not cleaned between different guest.

Nice hotel. Rooms very clean. All amenities one could need. The staff was great. Special kudos to Stacy who took care of the Continental breakfast as well as her assistant. Both served up good food, nice variety. They helped with all our needs.Room was very reasonably priced.Easy on/off the highway.Love Holiday inn Express!

We often stay at Holiday Inn Express when traveling, and we’ve usually been paying between $122 and $132 along the expressways for similar rooms. This one charged us $169 and, honestly, it’s not worth it. It wasn’t very clean. There was construction going on in lobby, so the breakfast food was located in a small, congested meeting room. Someone else in these reviews mentioned the dirty red paper on the desk asking for positive reviews. We had the same thing with an old dirty candy cane on it. And this was in February. Eww. I took a photo of it. For us, this place wasn’t worth the price.

The best Holiday Inn Express we've stayed at. Very clean which is a priority to me. The front desk customer service was excellent from the moment we arrived until we left. Food service staff was exceptional. They went above and beyond to treat their customers as the first priority. All the other Holiday Inn Express hotels should have to take a seminar from the manager of this hotel on how to do things right. Unfortunately, our experience at many of the other Holiday Inn Express Hotels we stayed at was a far cry from what we experienced at the Walterboro one. My hats off to the general manager, Minteci Williams!

Upon checking in was greeted by a front desk clerk, a woman who was sucking on a lollipop and not dressed very professionally or appropriately Pushed form in front of me with highlighted areas to fill out without saying anything. The morning front desk person was also not very personable. Breakfast even though it's free could have been a lot better although it was at the end of it. Dry scrambled eggs and tough breakfast sausages. I can't remember the young lady's name may have been Dee who was cleaning up offered me up a tray to bring food back to the room to make it easier was very nice. There was a big difference between this holiday inn express than the one we stayed at the night before.

Front desk very nice and friendly. Helpful with my requests. The lobby was being remodeled, so they are keeping up. There was no dust with the goings on, either!Walkability: Cracker barrel and convenience store next door

Didn't rent a room, but was there on business. The lady at the desk was very helpful. Even though they were remodeling their front desk, there was no inconvenience by dust or loud noisesWalkability: Convenience store next door and Cracker Barrel right across the street

It's a very cozy and comfortable place for a stop at a road trip. I wouldn't call it the best to stay at for a long time during a vacation, but it gets the job done in terms of a quick napNearby activities: There's a military base nearby and there was also a lot of stuff to do.Noteworthy details: There's more pigeons here than there are people that have ever stayed in the hotel lol

Overall, hotel is in decent condition. Easy access off the highway, with decent food selections nearby. The reason for 4 stars is the hotel is being refurbished and shows some wear and tear. The lack of AC in the hallways has created a musty mildew smell that permeated the hallways and into the rooms. The room was in excellent shape, so as far as my sleep went, it was a solid room with no complaints. Decent breakfast selections as well. The staff were very friendly.

Have stayed at this hotel several times. It has gone downhill however. Room smelled like mildew. Hair all over the bed. Boxsprings on the beds stained with all sorts of colored substances. Stains on sheets and walls. Bathroom was pretty clean. Staff are fairly nice. Unfortunate.. was a good hotel. Very convenient off I 95. Won't be coming back to this hotel when there are so many others to choose from that are cleaner.
