I foster dogs, I picked Aspen today as my latest foster pup. The folks here are absolutely wonderful!! They are doing so much good with so few resources. If your in the area or want a good charity to donate to consider Union County Animal Shelter.

You never get help from this place!!!!!! Do not recommend cause when you take animals here that are NOT EVEN YOURS because they been tormenting the neighborhood they send you away and say it's your problem you had a kind heart and fed it so now it's yours!!!!!

I agree with the other low reviews. Don’t answer phone or emails and if you show up in person, even on a day when they have an open house scheduled!, they still will not let you in. Based on what I’ve seen I suspect they are paid based on how many dogs they keep onsite not on how many they adopt out.

Adopted a sweetheart mix breed that had been there since February. She had been there the longest. Hrs very scared but is eating and drinking and completely housebroken! I'm so excited to see this dog realize she's loved and has a forever home!

Nathan and his helpers were OUTSTANDING when we found a momma Pit and her 5 feral pups in our field last fall. Nathan and his helpers dropped off cages for us to catch the babies, which Nat said had never seen humans before. He said the mom feed them until they were to big for her to take care of on her own so she brought them in hoping for help and she found it. The pups were approximately 10-12 weeks old when we found them and in very good condition. Whenever we caught one of the pups Nathan was at the house within the hour after I called him. He was ALWAYS FANTASTIC with each and every one of the dogs. Momma was SOMEONES pet as she had an orange collar on. AND TO THE OWNER WHO FELT DUMPING THE SWEETEST BLACK PREGNANT PIT OFF IN THE WOODS IS THE WAY TO HANDLE IT.....How about having her spayed BEFORE she got pregnant. Wish we knew who did this so we could make them survive in the woods off of berries for MONTHS, which is what these pups had been eating before they found out house. KEEP UP THE WONDERFUL JOB YOU ARE DOING. Unfortunately so many animal are in desperate need of more people like Nathan and Holly. Thank you for finding wonderful home for all the dogs. Amazing people doing amazing work. THANK YOU

Zero stars. I tried calling a dozen time and it the call never went through. Couldn't even leave a voicemail. With no way to contact holly you cant get an animal. Do better

We decided to get a kitten from here, was told if the little spot under her eye and ear didn’t get better to come back she made it seem like it was just a scratch fromThe other kitten that was housed with our kitten at the shelter. we brought home are new kitten to find out she had ring worm, went back to shelter and was told that there was a outbreak of ring worm with the cats. That’s real nice to give kittens away that have issues and not think twice about it and knowing we had a cat at home as well that could come infected with it As well, our new kitten has been to the VET and is now on 2 different medications. Think twice before getting an animal from here unless you want to end up at the vet treating infections straight out of the shelter!

The Lady over the rescue/adoption part of the shelter Holly Wise is nothing but a bully!! It's a shame people can't feel comfortable going to a shelter for different needs for having to worry if she's gonna write a horrible post filled with lies about them on Facebook because of her personal opinions! She does this Very often and has to many different people! Very unprofessional so people beware!!!

By far the cleanest shelter I have ever been to. Holly is a Godsend to the animals in Union County. I wouldn't consider adopting from anyone else.

Very sweet place. Made me feel understood and comfortable leaving my dog there. It's hard when you have to surrender a pet. They made me feel less horrible doing it.

Very clean and made things easy for me to leave my special friend Sophie. I didn’t want to have to give her up but my husband was really sick and I couldn’t handle all of it at that time.

Very friendly and helpful! They didn't have a large selection this time when I went, but that's ok. I don't have a problem going back there from time to time until we find the right one. I am SO glad that they are not a kill shelter!!!!!
