I had such a positive experience with them at one of the hardest times of my life. One of my babies had passed away and I needed to find a place to have a cremation over the weekend. The lady I spoke to over the phone was not only compassionate but very helpful and answered all of my questions. The 2 ladies I dropped him off with were also very professional and respectful. I felt completely at peace and comfortable for the whole process. Everything was taken care of very promptly which I appreciated. I dropped my sweet Lambchop off at 11:30am on Saturday morning and I was able to pick him back up at 1:30pm the following Thursday afternoon. I was also able to checkout their Pup Shop with my dog that Saturday and she received a lot of attention and a free puppuccino which she of course loved. Everyone we encountered was super friendly (even those who had no idea what we had just needed to do next door) and this made a huge impact on our day. At pickup everything I received (his cremains, a card, and paw print clay impression) was presented neatly in a reusable tote bag. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

I go here almost every day, except on Wednesday when they are closed and on the weekends when my daughter not passing by there to force me to go look at puppies. She wants a puppy so bad, but we can't right now, so we go there to just love the 🐶 and 🐈 The photos will tell you more about our visits and the beautiful puppies that are there for adoption. I just donate when I can. You should too.

Awesome Staff!!. I adopted My my kitten 2 weeks ago . My dog is a member of the Bark Park . Its amazing . Better than a kids Park LOL has a water park stairs jumping ,2 sides for small and big . Pools .Must experience this for not only your fur baby but for yourself a s well . There are bunch of awesome people that come with there dogs.

First time taking my puppy here for grooming. After a terrible experience at another local groomer. SPCA did a great job getting her cleaned cut and no knots. I will definitely be taking her back.

I went to drop off my pup Dixie today around 4 and they told me to come back the next day and so I went to leave my Dixie was being little stubborn and as all people do I tugged on it and pulled the leash to get her going and put her in my car and they sent out this old lady in black scrubs and she banged on my door and told me to pull around someone will get the dog and she said this very meanly and I asked why and she said because the girls in the front saw me yank on her leash and said I could be nice about it. I advised her that she was being stubborn and that I’m not going to pull back there I’ll wait to the next day and she said well I have your info and to my knowledge taking a picture of someone tag is illegal and she needed to delete it. But I gave up and said fine I’ll take her back there and this old lady sees me going in reverse and she jumps behind my car and says well run me over then! And I said you are the one who jumped behind my car knowing I was going in reverse. I get back there a very sweet guy took her but they wouldn’t let me say bye or pet her or anything. And the paperwork I have on her says I didn’t have to get her neutered until February and this other old lady jumped down my throat saying you know they are supposed to be neutered at 6 months. Like excuse me my paperwork says otherwise. And she kept making me repeat myself I asked her do you want me to just fill it out and she slammed the pen down and said sure since you wanna yell. And then she hovered over me and had an attitude the whole time. And snatched the paper from me saying that’s all I need you to fill out. And when I gave her the bag of toys for Dixie I said those are for her and said yeah yeah and walked away. So I will be back to make sure they are taking care of her and those toys are in her kennel. They can get mad I don’t care, I did nothing wrong. It was not my decision to get rid of her it was my dads. She is my baby I love her very much and it makes me so upset they just took her and never let me say goodbye like how rude and heartless are these people. I could have lost my mother snd that could have been her dog that I just couldn’t have taken care of and they were just so rude to me. I have been stressed out. Dixie was being stubborn all day so a little tug on the leash is nothing these employees had no reason to be rude. I should have driven off because there is actually nothing they could have done because I owned the dog until I signed the papers. But oh well I have learned my lesson on ever dropping a dog off, I will always find a dog a family before I resort to that again.

AWESOME place to adopt animals!! We drove from Indiana to South Carolina to adopt our new fur baby Ajax (Rottie mix). Kayla and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and we truly appreciated them holding on to this little guy until we could get down there to adopt him. Facility was easy to find and very clean! He is doing so well being in a new home with new faces! He is being spoiled beyond belief and we are so blessed to have him in our family. Very worth the 12 hour drive each way to pick up this special little boy! BIG THANK YOU to the staff of Sumter SPCA!!!UPDATE: So we have had Ajax 8 months now and he is doing WONDERFUL!!! Growing like a weed and is very happy and healthy! He is going to puppy class and learning lots of new manners! He has fit in so well with our small family and now runs around the house like he owns the place....and that is just fine with us!!!! He is spoiled beyond belief and deservedly so! He is such a sweet little boy and we can't imagine our home without him!!! Thank you again to Sumter SPCA!!!!!July 2023 UPDATE: Ajax is growing like a weed and is SO happy and healthy! He is a ham and keeps us entertained! He is such a good boy and we can't imagine life without him!March 2024 Update: Ajax is getting bigger and bigger! Happy and healthy! Loves to play and there is rarely a dull moment! He is such a ham and is so much fun. He is such a blessing and wonderful addition to our small family! Cannot believe we have had him 2 years now!

All the animals there are well cared for and very calm. Staff is wonderful and helps you with everything you want to know. When you love animals, it's sad to see them all needing homes. Go get one, you'll be loved for it. Welcome 8 year old Sadie to her new home.

I adopted the most beautiful dog today. When I walked by his cage, he just laid there. No barking, no fuss. I looked at him and knew. I spent 10 min in his cage. He was 6 years old and layed right on my lap. His eyes looking up for only a few seconds before just lying still. He's been with me for 4 days. Already had his vet visit (mine) and is healthy as an ox. The process is easy and the application fee covers everything they've done (neutering and shots [except rabies], because a vet has to do that). Wonderful decision. All the dogs looked healthy and ready for a good home. They take care of and care for their dogs. Truly believe in rescuing a dog vs a puppy mill. Many years of enjoyment to come. For both of us. His name is Jasper.

Had a fantastic experience adopting our precious little Tucker from here. The staff was friendly and they are very flexible on how you can interact with animals. Well priced although they don’t microchip and only offer $25 voucher to neuter. They had the best website and Facebook presence of the Midlands area shelters which is why I drove out there from Columbia. Thankful for what they do!

The employees are really nice and friendly. The dog park is really nice. I've saw a few hair cuts, dogs look good. I drop of food and other things my dog doesn't want or grew out of. Which they are very appreciative of. So, the next time you feel like throwing it out, just donate it.

I called too many places to count with no help so I finally took Doll out of my neighbors yard, after he chained her in this burnt pile of trash and have been trying to find her a good home with a Secure Fence. Had a wonderful experience with the Sumter SPCA. We rescued Kyra yesterday & she is such sweet girl. Her & her new sister get along so well. We’ve had no issues at all! The staff was awesome & so helpful & kind sharing there knowledge about Kyra. They were very upfront about her heart worm issues. This is a fantastic SPCA with a small town, Southern look and feel. All of the employees were extremely nice and helpful.I can't speak for the feline side of the place, but the dog's kennels were all super clean. Each one had little cots, food and water for each dog.This place also has a gift shop and a few small private areas for you to interact with your new potential pet before you commit.. which I wasn't expecting, but I definitely appreciated 👍

My sis called to get help for a kitten found on the road with it's eye badly damaged and was told it would be put down if she bought the kitten there cause they didn't have the funds, I mean how cruel and unsympathetic can you be, this was beyond hateful. But because of her not giving up and reaching out to the community on Facebook the kitten is going to live and be fine. And all this was done by individuals out the kindness of their hearts. Not people who's job it actually is.

Nice staff. Both dogs got nails trimmed. Large dog got bath, conditioning and massage. They are both happy and so am I. Prices are not too much for my budget
