The staff here is amazing! If I could rank the staff 5 stars and management 1 star. Instead, I will have to just meet in the middle. That is what I would do. I see a staff named Chelsea greeting every customer and wishing them a happy new year. I come to Dollar General for the value of their products and the efficiency of service.But the upper management here clearly has issues. I just walked around the store. One could easily blame the employees but instead I implore rational human beings to blame the organization. A real captain needs to get control of this ship. If the store is doing badly it is a reflection of the store manager. Who is no where to be seen! Managers should make their presence known to the regular customers to establish a relationship. I see the employees doing that but not management. So my next question is how does the store manager get into a position of power and not know how to run a store. Is Dollar General have employee training issues. Something greater is clearly at work here.Below are the photos of me at 4pm. Walking around the store. Everyone is probably getting off work to see the store like this. If I was a manager at this store, I would be here cleaning it up! You have to treat the store as if it were your own home. You should be comfortable in your home. If people aren’t comfortable, there is an issue. This store is obviously short staffed. A good manager is here at the store setting an example for the staff to follow. The crew is only as good as the captain.They have this whole container in front of the toilet paper. You are literally blocking the item that people are buying plenty of during COVID.And finally, would you come to a store to buy milk with mold like the photo I have below?! Like come on this is squalid!

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! The workers were rude, and there were dead cockroaches everywhere. The bathroom had feces on the walls and toilet 🤮🤮🤮. The isles were really cluttered it was so hard to maneuver.P.STHE WORKERS WHO ARE HAVING A BAD DAY DON'T TAKE IT OUT ON YOUR COSTUMERS.

Jennifer was super helpful, smart and knew the store like the back of her hand. Excellent customer service, honestly I dont get empressed often by customer service. However she seemed to injoy her job and have passion for it!!!

Awful place refused to unload when we arrived early. Made us wait 30 hours and wanted to offer $200 for detention. However it cost us over $2000 because we had to council the back half of our route.

Good store, only leaving 4 stars because their hours on google reflect they’re open until 11pm. I went in one night around 9:45 and they tell me they close in 15 minutes. They weren’t rude or anything and I was able to get what I needed and they explained that was their holiday hours and are no longer in effect (this was early January). It’s now mid-late February and it still says 11pm which I’m sure has gotten a lot of other people too and they arrive and the store is closed. I almost forgot the google hours were wrong and went there at 10:30 tonight to grab coffee.Updating my review: it said 11pm the first time I searched as it did back in January. I clicked back after my review and it says 10pm! So the google hours are correct but somehow it’s occasionally showing 11pm which may be a google error and not DG fault. Correcting my review to 5 stars.

I only shop at a Dollar General as a last resort. I've lived in the south for 26 years and I've never been to one that I could give a rating more than a one-star it's the worst shopping experience, and the dirtiest stores I've ever been into when it comes to shopping at a low end discount store, I guess they must pay their employees so miserably that there's no Pride at working at that store. I've even questioned employees of why the stores look so bad and their replies are I don't clean the store I just work here. Go to Family Dollar you'll be a lot happier!!!!

It's almost always in stock and while most Dollar General stores are not the neatest this one is usually above par. The employees are always quick to greet you and honestly seem happy to see their customers unlike some retail establishments.

Sometimes the line can be rather long, but only because there are a lot of people in line. Its never stopped me from going there though. I only gave it four stars because of the sour smell that is in the milk cooler. I have to hold my breath before I open it because it's pretty foul. I guess maybe a gallon busted and it spilled down in all the little cracks or something and no one can get it out?? The workers are always friendly and the store is clean and organised, with the exception to the milk cooler.

I’ve been a customer at this store for years! All the staff are friendly and go out of their way to help you find what you need. These other people leaving the bad reviews need to flip roles with the staff and they’d be more understanding.

Its an ok place. Good selection, staff can be a pain at time however the store is a decent size and they have a large variety of items. Its worth your time if you live in the area or are just passing through.

The store was crowded but with empty shelves. How can it be both? Staff were efficient and courteous. I love that DG'S stay open until 10:00pm.

Slow slow slow and rude. You can never get down an aisle to get something. Emoloyees don't care about customer. I stood in line for 20 minutes to pay for one thing. The cashier took his sweet time ringing up customers. I am so glad im out of cowpens. Town sucks and so does 90% of businesses there.

Since they rearranged it, it's much easier to find things, and they always seem to have what I'm looking for. The only negative is now it seems they never have a cashier or only one and every time I have gone in there the line is extremely long. Don't be in a hurry

The cashier is always very nice and pleasant but most of the girls putting up stock are very rude don't want to stop to help anybody and make you feel like you're not wanted in the store

The store looks crowded all the time. Lacks space, clearance and bright lighting. I've seen GoodWill stores that looked better. Maybe the owners of Dollar General don't shop at their own stores.

Favorite store Ever !!! Love love love it. My Dollar General and the people there are Awesome and it's a very pleasant experience all around every time I walk into my Cowpens SC store 😁♥️🙋‍♀️

Not much more to say other than Its a Dollar General! Lol. It’s not the cleanest, the service is not the friendliest, and the lines are always long and slow to move...BUT...You can’t beat the prices! Cans of Purina dog food run about $.20 cheaper than Ingles.

It's an ok place to stop by if you forgot to get something from an actual store. The products are cheap and the lines are slow af. But it's a nice little store that is only 5 minutes away.

I visit this store regularly and have never had a problem...sometimes the lines are a little long that's the only reason I can't give five stars.

Is a potential trip and fall harzard on every isle . Have seen same trash on empty shelves for weeks at a time . Shelves are hardly ever fronted and always disarrayed . But employees are for the most part pleasant with the exception of a couple bad apples . As an former employee of DG and patron at this store I'd almost rather travel out of town to a more established and safer Dollar General .

Longest checkout lines and their shelves aren't kept stocked very well at all. If you are in a wheelchair or use a walker, good luck getting down the isles.
