At one time, Harris Teeter was grocery royalty. The King of Produce, Duke of Frozen Food, Countessa of Butchery, but I haven't seen one in years. It was nice to see one, not only functional, but thriving. Great selection, not terrible prices for the beach.

I cannot believe the racial experience I just had at this Harris Teeter. I have always loved coming to this quaint grocery store as it is close to my house and the staff is typically warm. However today, I was told to get out of line by a woman of color because she said that someone else was already in line. THERE WAS NO LINE. Also if he was there before me why weren’t you checking him out? BECAUSE THERE WAS NO LINE‼️I don’t remember her name. Other than possibly Jessica or she was chatting with Jessica because she was casually chatting with her co-worker prior to me walking to the register (why the isle was empty.) Then when a man of color gets in line behind me and she says oh he was already in line. He said oh she can go ahead but she proceeded to tell him he could go ahead. I really don’t care about this kind of behavior as it is very common now. However because that was so blatantly obvious I had to submit this review.

It's a nice grocery near at the Folly Beach but the price is a lil bit high. It is clean and very organized though I can't find all what I'm looking for but it's still good that it's just few mins from the Beach when you needed any grocery.

I could not believe the treatment me and my family experienced at this grocery store! As we were trying to go to self checkout we were stopped by a worker telling us we passed it (we’ve been to this grocery store before) told us to go to check out 3 which was a self check out already occupied by another worker. As we walked to check out 3 the man basically belittled our intelligence saying “I can tell you guys are not from here so you don’t know”. Like excuse me? Then The man leaves and the worker ahead of us in check out 3 is still scanning her stuff so we move to a OPEN self check out and scan everything. Sure enough the man comes back and looks in our bags and tells us to not pack heavy because the bags with rip. (Not only did we already know not to pack heavy but the damn bags are paper so yess we know they would rip, he did not look or even say the same thing to a woman that was in the next checkout that had the same amount as us) again belittling our intelligence, giving advice that was not asked or wanted. Definitely felt stereotyped at this grocery store.

My family was shopping on a Saturday night for our week at Folly Beach and the staff could not have been ruder. We spent $300 and the manager followed my daughter after she got ice and accused her of stealing it. Even went so far as to tell the cashier to watch out for her. Then we kindly offered to help bag (since we had a cart full of food..did I mention $300 worth) and she told my daughter (who was just harassed by the manager) that she was bagging it too heavy. First of all, she works at a grocery store and knows how to bag. I promise she’s more competent than you. Second of all, if a customer offers to help bag, take the help and shut it, especially for the 4 customers in line behind us. To the manager, get a life. To the cashier, get a job you don’t hate. Some life advice for you….

Prices are on the higher side, even with sale prices - but the local/craft beer selection is nice! Good place to stop for a fre snacks and beer! Doing your full grocery shopping here is more expensive than surrounding markets.

Everyone at this Harris Teeter was so friendly especially Gerald the Bagger. He was so helpful and sweet. We were here with a group of girlfriends and he helped us celebrate by singing Happy Birthday, it just made our day! The girls in the deli were also fantastic. We had a great experience!

This store was incredible! Clean and well stocked, it had all of your grocery needs. Loads of organic foods and lots of options for specialty or restricted diets. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. This is one of the few complete grocery stores near Folly Beach, SC but it doesn't disappoint. Definitely worth a stop to get what you need. It also has a Harris Teeter gas station next door so you can fill up your vehicle's tank as well.

Love this store on Folly Rd. The employees are always so helpful. The produce is fresh & the meat market is neat & clean. The meat cutter goes way beyond cutting meat the way I want it. He's so kind, stays so busy stocking not only meats, but coolers too. He's always stopping & helping customers locate items in the store & has saved me a lot of walking searching for items I have trouble finding. We frequent HarrisTeeter. Love their sales & having a sale paper to help me plan my meals!

We had 15 wonderful years of shopping at HT before we moved to an area where the choices were basically Publix & Kroger. The stores are not even in the same ring.HT was taken over by Kroger and the Kroger cultural transformation to the bottom of the barrel is complete.While HT and Kroger would have handled the return in the same manner it was our time at the CS desk on Thursday ~9am that earned HT the abysmal rating.No staff at the CS desk, so you do what the sign/note say; 'get someones attention'.But we were given the following message "She is busy right now, she is counting money". No she was actually on a register doing something else. {Do Not Lie to US}.Then other people came by to tell us she was 'busy with other people'.She finally came to the desk and we were told we had to wait while she completed another task.We understand completing one in process task before taking a new one, but the organization is driven to lie and cover.BTW the cheesecake was absolutely atrocious just simply disgusting.

Store was very clean and well organized. Love your produce and deli. A bit confusing on the large refrigerators as to what is where, but found everything I needed. Only complaint the bagger put my muffins on the bottom with sweet potatoes and meat on top which mashed them. In another bag the green table grapes were put on the bottom with some heavier items on top which mashed the grapes. Otherwise everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Visited on the way to Folly for a weekend vacation.Conveniently located for service to Folly Beach. It is easy to get into and out of the store since there is a traffic light at the entrance. Sign could be a little more obvious, could be easy to miss from the road if you don't quite know where you are going.Store was clean and well stocked for everything we needed. Had a good selection of snacks and drinks. Didn't have any interaction with the staff, as we used the self check out. Checkout and aisles were a little close together and cramped. Seemed like enough checkout lines were open.

Some days are better than others. I would be more than happy to help assist Brian in the butcher department, if he's forgotten what service and quality means. I deliver service and quality always to my customers, by all means. This is because I charge a premium price, like Harris Teeter. Brian... $14 a pound for ice, not quality seafood? Cmon man!

This appears to be a solid, clean, well-run Harris Teeter. Our visit was quick and easy. This staff was cordial and helpful and the products that we wanted were easy to find on well-stocked shelves. The parking outside is plentiful and organized with easy street access. The store and surroundings appear to be easily navigated by handicapped persons with the possible exception of the men's bathroom which was rather small for a wheel chair. We waited in a short line for less than a minute before anither cashier beckoned us over to check out more quickly through the customer service desk POS. The store looked ready for an inspection.

Bad experience at Harris Teeter, 1985 Folly Road this early afternoon. My wife purchased a few items and the cashier indicated the total was $342.12. She indicated in no way did she spend that much but the cashier said yes you did. She persisted and the cashier consulted with another cashier. She was instructed to the service desk where she had to unpack all her bags and all items were re-rung at the service desk. The total was $73.07. She felt the whole error was handled terribly. Where was the store manager! Apparently she was paying for the persons groceries who supposedly checked out ahead of her.I will forever be checking all my receipts before I leave the store.

Their subs are AMAZING. Hot or Cold, their 6” Sub for $3.99 has more meat and cheese and far superior ingredients than the best footlong you could hope for at Subway. Everything is made fresh, to order and their deli attendants are actually friendly, unlike the minimum wage brats that I’ve seen grace every Subway shop around, lately. Great food. Great Experience. Fantastic Price for what you get. If you’re looking for a quick, but filling lunch, look no further than your local, Harris Teeter deli counter.

Sorry, I rarely post negative review but we are navigating through a pandemic.I own a home on James Island and have 3 Harris Teeters within 10 minutes of my house. I hope to never go back to this location unfortunately.Too many tourists not properly masked or not wearing any face coverings at all. None of the employees seemed to care.I'm glad we have visitors back but they should be respectful, always. Locals beware!

We were staying on Folly Island so we stopped in to get the supplies we didn't want to bring with us in the car. The selection of vegetables was surprisingly good enough to find everything we needed to grill. Had everything else we needed and the prices were competitive. Cashier asked if we had a Kroger's card to get the store discount (didn't realize they were connected) so that was a bonus.

Store manager is a complete joke. At peak hours only had 2 registers open and asked everyone to excuse themselves from his line while taking 4 times as long as the other cashier. Poor customer service, poor attitude and the store smells like old seafood. Strongly recommend going elsewhere

Love Harris Teeter JIsland.. the staff is friendly and helpful... Wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables.. seafood (including local) large meat selection beef, pork and poultry.. sushi made before your eyes.all sections of the store is well stocked.. convenient pharmacy.. savings with VIC card..Try HT.. You will love it, also.

I went here because I didn't want to drive all the way to Whole Foods from Folly. The store asks their customers to wear masks so they can help protect community health, especially those with compromised immune systems that have a higher risk of death from COVID.However, some of their employees WERE NOT WEARING MASKS!It's clear they don't care about their customers health.Wal-Mart does a better job of protecting their customers health.Plus their selection isn't that great.Go anywhere else. Not here.
