I've been buying pea gravel and rocks on a small scale basis for some time now and have always found it a wonderful establishment. I don't have a truck but everyone has been helpful and courteous.... until my last trip when I was basically told I couldn't make purchases there, maybe because I wasn't buying on a grand scale. The man who told me this was maybe an owner. I've never had this kind of insulting encounter there before and I still don't know how to think about it. I'm sorry that happened. I feel like I was kicked in the face.

Hours could be better they are open Saturdays until noon. I have always had a good experience. I've been here about 20 times. The lady at the front desk is always cheerful and happy to help. She's also helped me find out what to buy and explained lower cost options for stone and fill. The guys in the yard are always polite and work efficiently. They also have given me advice on my trailer how to kid it effectively for unloading and safely with gravel. Today I asked the guy working if he could try and fill the buckets because I have to carry the stone to my project. He took time and arranged the buckets and nailed it. Prices are ALWAYS cheeper then Lowe's and Home Depot. Great people great prices!

When we pulled up and we were not sure where to go. Office sign was not easy to see. When we found the office, the staff told us to feel free to look around. Then we went out to the yard to look at the stone we were looking for and that staff was great also. Answered all of our questions and gave us suggestions as well. So glad we found location. We will return so we can finish our project.

I love having this local place available. They are prompt to call customers that want small orders of sod if they come in and seem to run a efficient place. You can pick up commercial lawn care supplies for fertilizing your lawn as well. My only complaint is their pine needle bales are so expensive compared to competitors!

I WAS HARSH on my 1st Review!!Two Hurricanes “Brushed by” the CSRA during my lawn project! My math was WAY OFF & I should have ordered 4 or 5 pallets instead of 8. PLUS I still think I’m 25 years younger😟.My Labor Day weekend work, was messed up by 1st Hurricane, so I had to Re-Do a lot of that.I didn’t begin planting until the following week and that took more than a week to complete. MORE torrential rains hit and really slowed me down. The last pallets did not look like it would survive, but I planted all 8 Pallets anyway. None of this was Carolina Farms fault.Nickel Ridge is my local lawn supplier & David Nunmaker suggested a small bag of root stimulator for the last 2 pallets, so I purchased and put down that bag. I’m amazed at the results... I may have lost 1/2 a pallet! The grass Sod I got down the weekend after Labor Day weekend & planted the next week before the 2nd storm, is as pretty as TX A&M said their “TAMSTAR St. Augustine Hybrid”, is supposed to look like. Even the last 2 pallets, are throwing out sprigs & most of it will make it. I MAY lose the last 4-5 rows of Sod, off the last pallet. I was planting with a head lamp on until 10pm on a Sunday Night. That’s the grass that is IFFY!My comments about the dirt backing was also HARSH. I’m not still in Texas with Black Gumbo dirt, that sticks together. I lived in TX, 60+ years, before moving to NA/SC; if I wanted Black Gumbo, I should have brought some with me! *** SO I’M RETRACTING MY INITIAL REVIEW ***I will order less grass at a time to finish my corner (3/4 acre) lot.[ INITIAL REVIEW: I Bought 8 pallets of Sod, delivered Saturday morning and every other piece fell apart trying to take it off the stack. Very dry dirt backing. Haven’t planted the first pallet yet, 7 more to go and we’re not going to be done today. I can’t get off Monday, so this is going to be a problem. ]
