Pete’s is definitely the way to go for your tackle and bait needs! Ray had helped me with purchasing his American Eels ( I keep them as pets…very spoiled eels🤷‍♂️)Today I went in and he let me net my own eels because he cared enough about my aquarium and ensuring I had large enough eels that couldn’t escape. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this establishment and encourage you all to take a visit and support your local business. Not too many parking spots, but didn't have any issues since I went early. Entrance is on the side. Tons of stuff in this little shop, so I imagine you could find what you need or get it ordered. The gentleman working the desk is straight forward, but down to earth and told me the shop has been around 75+ years. I asked what he recommended for bait and went with that. My daughter caught two fish that day and was very pleased.

Best bait shop in RI period. Ray is always open and has more tackle for sale than the big stores. Personal service. When ever I need a new rod, I see Ray. He put together a fluke rod last year that will last me a lifetime. If you need any fishing tips, he's the guy to ask. He's also knowledgeable when it comes to deer too. I drive a half hour from Ma to go here.

I've been going to Pete's since I was a kid with my father. I'm 47 now and still go there Ray is just like his dad, great guy and always ready to serve his customers. More tackle then you could imagine all around great place.

Charged me $28.00 for my fishing license. Gave me a sheet of plain white paper with my license info printed.Handed me the sheet of paper with my home address incorrect.I pointed the error out and he said "too late now". He would not correct the mistake.Also wouldn't give me the plastic case/ holder for my new incorrect, overcharged fishing license.This guy clearly should close shop if this is how he does business.Go somewhere else for your fishing license.

I rate a 5 mainly because it’s my husband who carries down from his father and hopefully will be followed by his sons. We miss Ray’s father and mother. Today it is still a sadly event for all who knew Irene.5 stars for Ray, being his wife, knows what we give up for the business. Ray does 7 days a week, 14 hours a day. Two holidays he takes off. Now when season closes he is traveling to shows, looking for the usual and new items out. It’s a lot work if ice shows up. He opens again. I’d sometime say take a break, it’s a bad day, he won’t. He’s sick he’s there. Can’t let the customers down and be known for doing that.I’ve done my 11 years, it’s hard work, eating at 8, no cookouts, no dinners out. Takes care of property tied with the shop. Good man, he sacrificed a lot for it. What’s my husband name now? Kidding.His shop and customers are first, that’s dedication.
