I absolutely love this place! For a while we purchased our food online because delivery is so convenient! However, when our dog started with digestive issues my husband popped in here and received such helpful suggestions! Everyone is so knowledgeable! There is a bigger pet store down the road…it’s nothing like this place! We have run several questions by different Rumford employees, every single person has really been so informative! I highly highly recommend stopping in!

This is a small hometown chain that offers personalized service. The prices may be a little higher than the chain stores. The employees are knowledgeable and pleasant . They do carry a lot of unique and local items. Some of the collars, leashes and harnesses have lifetime warranties. They also offer a rewards program.

I always enjoyed going to Rumford Pet and the people who work there are extremely helpful. I buy my dogs food there every month and have been doing so for quite some time. I use my perks card. The other day the cashier asked if I was interested in signing up for the free bag of food after so many purchases. I told her I had done so months ago and was waiting for them to tell me when I had reached my goal. She checked and said I never registered. I KNOW I did because I was with my daughter who got her free bag that day. I hadn't heard about it so I registered. The cashier asked me if I had my receipts from the bags I purchased!! Now come on, why would I keep those!!! She said she would start me in the program that day and the bag I bought would be considered my first bag. No apology or expression of feeling bad that this happened. Now maybe people try to finagle a free bag of food so she thought I was. Anyway I will not buy my food there any more.

it's conveniently located in Apple Valley Mall andfor the most part they have most of my cat items in stock. the staff is always very friendly and helpful. when they have a sale I find the prices are pretty decent.

Went and purchased a bag of frozen raw dog food. I had needed to switch the food my pups were using so I tried something new. When I got home the bag of food was rotten and nasty smelling. I went and returned it and got a different bag of a different brand from a different cooler. That bag was severely freezer burned and eeking a yellow pus out and smelled terrible. Frustrated, I returned it and decided to give one last chance to the store and purchased another bag of a different brand from yet another cooler. Half of it is freezer burned and not in its best shape. I had mentioned something to the manager about another variety of that same brand being frozen solid like a complete brick and she shrugged it off saying that's how it comes. I doubt it. I do not recommend buying frozen dog food here. Their coolers are not up to par and they don't really seem to care.

Although this is a nicely placed market focused on pets which is great for the area however I found that every single time that I've bought high-priced unique or this marketable pet food and any other items I've bought in there I've had to return because my cat would not eat them nor would he play with any of the toys and I don't know_? I just ...every single time it's been a bad experience

Will only shop @ Rumford. They are knowledgeable about there products. I see people complain about $, u get what you pay for. You want to give your animal a healthy , happy life then you give them healthy food. Go ahead shop @ Pet Smart or Petco they are clueless of what they are selling and owning a English Bulldog I have to be extremely particular with there food. Never have I been successful at neither of those stores BUT what bothers me the most is not KNOWING the product you are selling me! Know RUMFORD I’ve spent an hour discussing food products and they know there stuff!! NOW that is a place I am going to shop! Thank you Rumford for your continuous GREAT service and having your STAFF trained!

I like Rumfird. I get my girls food there and occasionally al baby. Cat food too. I pay more for the better foods. I find a big difference in the cats for, teeth, breath. It's costs more, but as I say, you get what you pay for.

Much better than a PetSmart, Rumford has a better selection of healthy dog food, unique toys, treats and some of the nicest and most helpful staff in any store, not just a pet store.
