I only rate this location a 1 star because 0 stars was not an option. For almost 6 years I have been taking my husky to the Petco across town without incidence. 3+ years ago the groomer suggested I try pre medicating my pooch with some benadryl due to the "dramatic" and anxious nature of the breed. Every visit since, the dog has been well behaved and cared for beautifully.The first time I tried to take him to East York the salon refused him because I did not have physical copies of his shot records regardless of the fact he was already in their system and proof of his vaccinations were surely available in their database. Today he was refused because of the pre medicating his last groomer (at the same company) suggested. The salon assured me that they would not be able to assess my pet's distress if he was medicated. Apparently East York's Petco employs an animal psychologist, but I have yet to receive any grooming services, hence ZERO stars.

The hair cut was completed pretty quickly. I have a 2 and a half year old golden doodle who gets pretty anxious so a quick trip is best. It only took about 2.5 hours, the cut is very even, he smells very good, and his nails are just the right length. I used to take him to petsmart where the cut would take about 4 hours, the nails would be cut too short (which probably added to his anxiety), and there was always some long tufts of fur that ended up popping our from in between his toes. To top it off, the hair cut here is a little cheaper here than petsmart too. The stylist said that he did very well during his cut, and we plan to come back for our next one!

The groomer knows Radar has anxiety issues regarding his nails so she does them first, reassures him that clippers will not be used as he freaks out and she truly seems to care that he is comfortable. That is so important to me as he is a rescue and is a really nice guy, most of the time!!

Angela is the reason I travel across town to have my dog groomed at Petco! I have followed her because I trust her with my baby. He suffered a serious injury during a grooming session at another salon so when I found Angela I knew I would follow her anywhere!

I have been taking my dogs to Petco for as long as Angela has been there. I trust her and more importantly Button and Chenoa trust her. They know the way to the groomers department and can't get there fast enough. They love Angela!!!!!
