Based on my own experience. ACE Steeles hardware in Tannersville very good store for all your hardware needs . As soon you go in always you find someone ask you how can I help you. And they are really help. They always try to find what you are looking for. Not like the other large big stores. You will find what you need but in a small version. The store organized clean. The staff very friendly, professional and helpful. They have tools and construction equipment for rent for your next project. Also they fix your lawn mowers , snow removal machines,weed wacker‘s and more. Plus truck and vans rental. So I highly recommend it to shop from over there for your hardware needs.

I and my business will not be going back. The older gentlemen there doesn't know how to talk to people and apparently there is new policies there that make filling propane much more difficult for 100 lbs tanks. Modern gas will get my business for now on. Reply... the tank was in the back of a pick-up truck in a standing position very well secured. You should research the issue before you give a generic response.

DO NOT RENT HERE! Rental counter was horribly unprofessional. One day rental. Machine broke 3 times!! STEVE sent employees to come take back their machine early. Blamed my contractor and myself for breaking their equipment. Saying their equipment wasn't meant for this kind of work.....this is the easiest job it should ever have done! Am i supposed to load it with marshmallows?? Not even mentioning the sexism and down right disrespect I was faced with when dealing with Steve both on the phone and in person. Committing fraud at its finest! QUIT SENDING OUT JUNK AND YOU WON'T HAVE THESE PROBLEMS!!!

5 stars for the store but 1 star for the Stihl Br 800 C Magnum Backpack. I purchased it for the convenience of it starting while on my back buts it’s a complete piece of junk and works when it feels like it. I’ve got it to start twice while wearing it and most of the time it has a hard time starting on the ground. I called the manufacturer and they said it’s a known problem with this model that the spark plug on these units can be faulty and I would need to constantly play with it…Wish I did my homework on the reviews as many folks pointed out this same issue with this model. If you get the 800 buy the standard version and not this junk.

needed a rental, staff is professional and helpful. I was very surprised at the variety of items for sale & rent.... Everything from popcorn machine, carpet cleaning machines and Christmas decorations . *They even have sterno trays and helium tanks. Water salts, crystals- you name it! Give them a try vs the Big Box Stores (which didn't even have a rental section, ahem... home D€pot).

Unfortunately I have to admit, I can’t and do not trust the repair guys to be honest. I leave out of here with at-least 300-400 bill Every-time.They always! Do more than I ask to be done on my lawn mower and add stuff to my bill.I specifically ask them to call me for consent before they made any repairs. It’s written right on my work order. They did not.The belt hopped off my blades, I ask them to put it back on, they charged me for the parts the belt was connected to (cool) and told me my battery was dead and charged me for a battery too.I told them that’s impossible I service my vehicle every 9 months! Everything’s new. They told me show them the reciet for the battery then, and then they will take it off my bill.Tf!I have not once yet walked out of the repair shop a happy customer.I was in a neck brace after spinal fusion. I had ace come pick up my unit, when the pick up guy came he looked at me and asked me to put the lawn mower on his trailer because it wasn’t drivable. I kid you not! Seeing Me with a neck brace on! I had to call my wife down to do it, then he felt ashamed and did it.Don’t bother making a complaint. When I asked to speak to the manager Shelby was the manager I spoke to. I asked her to ask the pick up driver if he drove my lawn mower in his trailer or pushed it. She told me the delivery guy is her husband and he wouldn’t lie to her. Noticing the red flag I asked to speak to the person above her, which she then told me is her father.Yea go figure, the fact that she told me all that when I ask to file a complaint should tell you where it is going to go.I’m not even sure nor care what their personal business has to do with a business transaction.As per your guys responseMy unit was there 3 times. You are not releasing the first time it went in for the full tune up.And definitely feel free to tell everyone how much you charged me as well, so people can make sure they are priced fairly.I did not agree to anything with you guys. And still don’t.

I bought a scrubbing brush yesterday thinking I would need it. Left it in my truck overnight but it rained so when I went to bring it back to the store it was wet. They told me they weren't taking it back because it was used. I never used it and it just looked like a brush that got wet but according to them it was used. They always give you a hard time trying to return anything but this time I just had to eat the loss and I will never go back there

The rental and delivery folks are a real pleasure to work with. I’ll be sure to return for any equipment rental needs. I rented a power washer and a skid steer and mini excavator. Had multiple pick ups and were charged by hours ran. Way more fair than days on property. I’m sorry both tracks were off the machine when it was picked up. But they were even nice about that. I am not that big of a man. Very kind. Thank you for helping me get the water to stop running through my crawlspace. :-) it’s so nice hearing the rain at night and not having to worry about a river running through my home.

On May 21, I brought in a Ryobi Gas Pressure washer for repair. They told me the brand was not a problem and that they could fix it. I told them It needed a new collar (part # 310993003 it attaches a garden hose to the pressure washer).The part costs $2.99. I was told that due to a backlog, it would take 2 weeks before they would be able to look at the machine. Three weeks later I called for an update and was told that my machine was scheduled to be looked at later that day and that I would receive a call back by 5:00pm. That never happened. A week later I called again and was told that my machine is on a "list" and that the person responsible for that list hasn't looked at the machine yet but when they do, I will receive a callback. About 10 minutes later they called to tell me that the machine needed a water pump and that the repair would be upwards of $400 and that it wasn't worth fixing. I was also told that their supplier could not even get the water pump for this brand. When I told them that I would be in to pickup the machine, their reaction prompted me to point out that machine is BRAND NEW and that I had no intention of leaving the machine there at which point I was reminded that the $25 I paid for this diagnostic was non-refundable. I picked up the machine, went online and purchased the collar for $2.99 and replaced it myself. If they knew they couldn't service this brand, they should never have taken my machine to begin with. Furthermore, how does replacement of a collar for $2.99 turn into replacing the entire water pump for $400? (note: I found the exact water pump part online for $130) What kind of diagnostic service is that??

She answered all of my questions & was very knowledgeable. She placed special orders for me and even went beyond the call of duty to ensure that I had all the colors I needed! I have been really happy with Steeles lately. I bought a new grill over memorial day weekend, they assembled, delivered, and filled my gas tank all for free. Prices are insane for everything right now, I thought that was really cool and generous. They also delivered the grill the next day! Holiday weekend! It's nice to actually get some true customer service once and a while. The next week I needed a plumbing tool. I grabbed what I needed, headed for the check out. Jon B suggested a different version for the job I was doing and he was right. His suggestion saved me some headaches. Steeles is on point in 2022

I sent my lawn tractor to be repaired as it would not run and smoked when it did. It was returned $190 later. It would only start 2 out of 4 times. The mechanic said it ran for him. Sorry. That is hard for me to believe. They tried to sell my son-in-law a new unit. They also wanted to charge $30 to pick it up to look at it again. I live 2 miles from the store. Terrible job...terrible service..PS... I replaced the carb myself for $22 and it Is purring like a kitten.

The people here are great. They are always helpful and courteous. I come here often for small engine repair and it is always cheaper than I anticipate. Although the store is smaller than some of the big home improvement stores, but they usually have what I need in the plumbing and electrical departments.

Great place to find everything you need. Local and convenient You don’t have to walk a mile to get on thing from the other side of the store. Just bought everything I need to change out a kitchen faucet saved a lot and in and out. Very helpful staff. They will feel like family after a while. Always willing to guild you on what’s needed improving on your conception to make it happen. I don’t give many reviews, but in this case it’s personal. Especially on a Friday night project when traffic is at its worst. Like today.

I absolutely love this place. They have almost anything that you need. The employees are always helpful and their knowledge of the products that they sell is amazing. I will choose to go to Steele's over any other hardware store including the big hardware stores. Lastly, the employees are always pleasant. This place is by far THE ABSOLUTE BEST HARDWARE STORE IN THE POCONOS. I used to live in Bucks county until 2005 and I have no problem saying that Steele's hardware is the best hardware store in Eastern Pennsylvania.

Talked with someone in rentals who seemed to be reluctant to rent me an excavator. First off, there seemed to be some confusion on what the “largest excavator” I asked for was. I did not asked for «a large excavator» but rather the largest you have. So the largest mini-excavator if you prefer. Then I was asked what I was going to do with it, excavating and a couple tree stump removal. I was stopped right there and was told you don’t allow that because of the hydraulic hoses breaking. In my opinion hoses breaking are caused by operator error (not the tree stump) If properly used this should not be an issue.The main reason for the whole week rental is to take the necessary time it takes to do a proper job for the base preparation of a pole barn installation and not to break the machine or hoses.Sadly I did not expect this reaction when asking to rent the excavator.

I do not recommend getting paint mixed at Steeles in Tannersville. I wanted a satin black latex in a quart, and showed them a sample to match. When I opened the can, it had a distinct tint of purple. I returned to show them, and they replied it will dry black. After seeing it semi dry with a heat gun, I trusted them that it would be ok. After I painted the surface, I waited to see if it dried black. Unfortunately it didn't. I took it back with pictures and got no results. NO RETURNS ON MIXED PAINT. I never saw the paint on purchase nor did I get a sample dot on the can. Maybe my mistake but, I didn't even get a sorry about it or an offer of something for the inconvenience. Ace has never let me down before, but this one hurts...... NEXT DAY..Thanks to Devesh, the store manger,my issue was resolved. He called to address my problem I had with the paint and immediately took care of it. I am not only grateful but impressed with his professionalism. Moving forward...Devesh, Steve and all the employees have proved STEELES is the best hometown hardware store in the Poconos.

I rented a Bobcat mt55 with the bucket and 2 attachments. I also paid for it to be delivered, the total charge for the day was $484.95. First issue I had was that the machine arrived late in the morning (11am), which did not allow me enough time to complete my work by the end of the day. I called Steele's hardware that afternoon and spoke with a rep. by the name of John. I explained to him what was going on and I let him know I was going to need the machine for another day so I can backfill the trench. I asked how much would I be charged for the extra day and I was told $200. To reassure how much I would be charged I asked John if I would be charged extra for the attachments being that I did not need them. He told me clearly "No only the extra day for the machine $200". Second issue I had was the second day the machine ran out of diesel and I could not get it started after refilling the machine with diesel. I called the store but the rep I spoke with could not explain to me over the phone on how to prime the machine,he told me “look it up on google”. I could not get it started, I waited hours for them to arrive for help.When they finally arrived they started it up and took the machine without me being able to finish up. The next day I checked my account and I was charged $401.21. I immediately called the store and asked about the charges. I spoke with the store manager and he said he would look into it and call me back. I did not hear back from him until 2 days later, after me calling the store multiple times trying to get this issue resolved. He tells me that he spoke with John and that he said I was not told I would only be charged $200. I felt angry and resentful of their intrusion. I could not believe that John would lie about what he clearly told me. To top it off, the third issue I had was today I noticed another charge to my account for $48.75. I called the store and I was told by the manager he would call me right back. Shortly after Ryan calls me back instead and tells me they made a mistake by charging me. I was told it was a charge that was supposed to be for another person and they would refund me the $48.75 back. This is ridiculous, I felt I was robbed and not treated fairly. I would not recommend anyone to buy or rent anything from this store.

In This place I find things better and cheaper and stuff I cant even find @ Lowes or Home Depot and its much closer to home which w todays gas prices you save a bundle of money n time. Oh, 1 thing: you guys need to fix your credit card machine, cant read mine but my card works fine everywhere else.
