Pharmacy is too busy. Not enough help. Pharmacist was overwhelmed and worries me about mistakes being made. Didn’t have my scrips filled after waiting there for an hour. Only filled one and was told they didn’t have the other so have to wait till Monday ( went w o meds all weekend) until it comes in. Called CVS and they have it.Will be switching to CVS.Also no drive thru to pick up.Rite Aid went out of business and State College is left w minimal places to get scrips filled. Not even a private pharmacy in the area!!

It's fine. Prices are reasonable for central PA. Good fried chicken if you want a quick meal. I would suggest taking the time to download the app and clip coupons/compare prices BEFORE going inside, as we generally find the cell phone reception to be poor inside.

Giant gets better each year. The new South Atherton store is wonderful & Giant's QPR is the highest in town (quality price ratio). Wegman's bakery, cheeses & specialty offerings complement Giant's supermarket offerings that are my core preference.

The lady working at the hot bar is extremely mean and unprofessional. There wasn't a clear sign saying that customers must ask the associate to serve them and there is a spoon for each tray, but the lady just yelled at me and said we could not do it ourselves. I had never been to a giant that has this rule, need to show a better attitude.

I was annoyed this morning at checkout when I heard the front end manager (?) complaining about a customer ( very loudly)to a colleague because the customer couldn't find a sale flyer item and had gotten annoyed. I understand that the manager wasn't at fault if an item didn't come in, but you DO NOT complain about customers in front of other customers! The professional behavior of a lot of the Giant employees could use some fine-tuning.

I used to be a faithful Giant customer until they too have pushed the loathsome self check-out agenda onto their customers. There are rarely more than 1 and sometimes no cashiers available so I am forced to do their job. This feat is an exercise in futility considering there is only space for 3 bags in the space. And God forbid you try to move one to make room for the next one. This sends the machine into crisis mode where it needs an override from some cocky kid too busy playing on his cell phone than to be working, which less face it he should be doing, NOT ME!!

It's a nice store, but my last choice as far as grocery chains in central PA go. No special brands that you can only get there and everything is costly. Their gallons of water are the most expensive in the area. One great thing they have are giant italian subs that are pre made in their prepared food section. However, they sell out of them regularly, which should tell you something.

It’s only a few years old, which makes it nicer than a lot of other nearby stores. Good produce section, but the meat department is just okay. A little pricey, but good sales.Do note, this is NOT a good place for quick trips. They usually have only two cashiers working, and ever since they instituted a policy where each item in self-check out needs to be weighed, it’s MUCH slower. The poor employees were running all over the place at checkout doing overrides because the scales weren’t working well. Bring your own bags too—theirs couldn’t hold tissue paper without ripping.

An expensive place to do grocery shopping doesn't make sense against Walmart. I wish they could get their price a little lower, but I understand their target customer isn't poor grad students! Stop by now and then for essentials!Update:Giant is ready for the Valentine’s Day! Yes I’ve used digital coupon for Salmon and Shrimp, saved some bucks!

I’ve liked the store and always liked the special pricing but management has changed since spring and I am ALWAYS ALWAYS taken care of no matter what the issue. Older grouchy male manager made everything difficult…. Fish rots at the head … and now that head is making a huge difference for the better (best) grocery store around State College!

I shop here all the time. If I come here on a weekday there is a guy in a green jacket just walking the store. He has ran into me several times and I even witnessed him running into a guy on a motorized cart. He never says he is sorry just keeps walking like you are the problem. What the heck??? This is a grocery store. Not a track to walk all the time. Clearly they don't care because I was there today and he was there again today not wearing his green jacket. He was just in a blue shirt this time and ran into a lady with a cane. This place is bad unless you want to get run over by someone not even shopping.

Went to the Starbucks today, and waited for several minutes, and was never greeted or told they’d be with me shortly. One employee (she had red hair, unsure of her name) was making a fresh pot of coffee, the other (i think her name was Lisa) was making drinks for 2 other customers, and the manager was cleaning the sink, and proceeded to turn around and aggressively tell the other two they that had to clean the sink tonight, that it was filthy, showed them a rag and then walked away. When the redheaded employee took my order, before she finished ringing me up, she proceeded to get the order of the guy behind me that she knew. Lisa ended up making those drinks before ours and he was out of the store before ours were started. Drinks were good, however the service was terrible.

This has been my go-to grocery location for 2 years now and I used to recommend it to everyone. My last several trips have me concerned that the place is going downhill though. The plastic bags are now so tissue thin that every single one rips somewhere between the checkout and the inside of my house. I’ve had baggers drop my meat on the floor, pick it up and pop it in a bag, only to realize when I got home that the package broke open when it fell - and that’s when there are even baggers available. Usually I’m trying to contain a toddler and bag my own groceries on the side. I’ve had coupons not ring up correctly the last few trips, losing me a good chunk of change. I’ve purchased Giant brand ice cream in a tub and gotten home to find a hole in the lid. I bought a box of ice cream bars last week and every single package was open inside the box. Last time there was moldy sour cream front and center on the shelf. Giant’s online chat customer service was of absolutely no help. The updated app doesn’t even display all of the coupons that should be available. Prices keep going up and up and quality keeps going down. And they hide the firetruck two seater carts all the way inside the store against the checkout, often blocked in by something on both ends. Might be time to find a new grocery store. The best part about this store is how kind the employees always are to my toddler.

Well laid out store, well lit, stocked well and prices very competitive. EV charging stations right in parking lot in front. Very convenient. Gas pumps are convenient as well. Access to store has 2 entrances, making it efficient.

Always great place. The best parts are cleanliness, well stocked up shelves and do not ever shuffle things around like some other grocery stores. I exactly know what to find where. Just one thing I would like to say, for a long time I have not been able to find the Basil and Parmesean Cheese flavor of the baked pita chips and the lemon role cake. I think Giant is not bringing them back. If they can bring these two items back agsin I will be highly satisfied.

On a visit back to my hometown I needed some last minute Thanksgiving items and checked out the newest Giant occupying the old Hills. Somethings seems off about it. It's not like all the other Giants I've been to in State College and the Philly burbs. It's gray (literally) and drab and it definitely does not make me want to shop there. I dont mind the expanded self-checkout and there were workers on hand eager to jump in to help navigate the system. It's pretty self-explanatory so I tried to be polite about the unsolicited help. I just can't get over how drab the whole store is. I mean Ollies next door is a cluttered disaster but at least it has character. I hope this store is a one-off and not a color scheme that will be replicated at new Giant stores. When in town I'll drive to the Giant on the other side of town or Wegmans because the drab gray is so not conducive to shopping. Ending on a positive note: it seems very clean.
