Love the items, freshness of produce. BUT…why do the cashiers throw everything into your cart??? I asked the cashier why she was throwing my items, she laughed. She threw my milk on my bread!!

They have a nice variety of groceries. Of course it is hit or miss. If you go during a busy time when it hasn't been recently restocked, the variety isn't as good.My only criticism is the poor inventory turnover process. Unlike Weis Market and Walmart, ALDI does not have a clearance section and so items they do reduce often sit on the shelves and get overlooked (hence the other reviews mentioning moldy or expired products). A couple hours from closing there was a product with a use by date marked for that exact day. The product looked bad and should have been marked down several days in advance. Some people dislike the quarter system for carts, but it's not bad at all. Leave a few quarters in your car so you don't forget one. This system helps keep costs down and allows employees to focus on restocking and cashiering.I HIGHLY advise you to use contactless payment like Apple Pay or Google Pay. I have a card I have only ever used here and at the State College Sam's Club snack bar and the number was obtained and used fraudulently. Provided I have only ever used the card at these two places, there's a VERY HIGH probability of card skimmers at either this location or the State College Sam's Club snack bar. If you are not familiar with contactless payment, please look up a tutorial on YouTube on how to use them, help your less tech savvy friends and relatives get on board with contactless payment. It's far more secure and protects your data.

Same products better price. But the meat aisle needs to be improved. It's surprising that there are no bags. Because it's not that cheap enough.

Aldis is a wonderful little store! I love how much I save by shopping at aldis they always have my favorite brands and the employees are always kind and helpful.

With the prices of basic foods and staples going up everywhere, I especially appreciate Aldi's prices right now. I think most of their products are as good as or better than value brands from other big chains, and the prices are usually better. Their aisle of fun odds and ends is always packed with fun a cool assortment of household wants and needs far cheaper than you can get them elsewhere. I have found a couple of their products, especially their frozen line of Asian foods, that aren't very impressive, but those are far outnumbered by the good. Their snack foods, fresh meats and cheeses, deli type items, and a shelf stable sides and ingredients have not let me down yet.

The store’s great. I love aldi so much. The “Aw my fruit had mold” review is ridiculous, they’re all in see-through containers. Just check the bottom to see if the fruit is still good. This is the only grocery I go to.

Usually fairly stocked up on product. I do gig work and very rarely have to replace things because they are out of stock

INSPECT YOUR FOOD!!1. Molding fruit in almost every package I've ever gotten.2. I found this sharp, splintering, 2 inch "wooden noodle" in my "Reggano Pastas" Penne Rigate 16 Oz. box from the Aldi's grocery store (on North Atherton Street in State College, PA.) How did I find this "wooden noodle" ??...I choked on it. Literally. It fit on my fork and was the same color, size and shape as if it were just a regular noodle covered in sauce. When I first put it in my mouth I thought it was just a burnt or uncooked noodle and then when I tried to chew it, it got lodged in my throat and started cutting off my airway. I physically had to give myself a version of the Heimlich using the corner of my couch to cough out the thing. I was alone and pretty scared.PLEASE INSPECT YOUR FOOD BEFORE EATING IT!!*reported to the FDA

Love this Aldi's! Always clean and the employees are friendly. Like any other grocery store, you need to look at prices and compare. Some are great deals, others are not.

I love Aldi. Because if the $0.25 refundable cart fee, there are never any grocery carts littered on the parking lot. The cheese, bread and chocolate sections are my favorites; they sell lots of things you can't find elsewhere. Overall, the prices can't be beat, my husband and I always laugh when we see Giant or Weis' Supermarkets' prices; when on sale, they're sometimes STILL a dollar or more than Aldi's regular price for many items. At this location, be sure to go in the morning because the produce section gets picked over and they don't seem to have enough workers to restock in a timely manner.Aldi is a great addition to State College, we were so excited when we heard of its construction; prior to that we would load up at the Altoona location when returning from visiting family.

This seems like an Aldi that was built recently and feels a bit larger than most. I was in and out quickly and the shelves were fully stocked when I went. Everything was clean and organized

No frills grocery shopping that I appreciate because it is easy to go in and get what I want and need. They have all the staples covered, surprisingly fresh and *delicious* produce in larger varieties and quantities than much bigger stores. Their prices are very reasonable, especially for the fresh fruits and vegetables and organic food fare.

I was so looking forward to Aldi opening up in State College. I never had a bad experience in any of their stores I have walked into. That changed today. I know the cashiers have to move quickly. But never have I had one toss items into the cart with no care as to where they land or what they land on. Jars and cans landing on bags of snack foods is unacceptable. When it was time to pay for the order, the register wouldn't accept payment. After huffing and puffing the cashier called the manager who told us that it was our problem that their system didn't recognize the payment method. Strange that it works everywhere else. So manager, if you would listen to what I'm saying, fix your system. It's your job, not ours.I want to say one more thing. This is the first Aldi I have been in with male employees, and the first time I've had an issue. Maybe they should look into this...Update: I have only been back in this store once since. I have no idea if the issue has been dealt with. Keeping the rating for now

Aldi in general is great but this store while the staff was impeccably professional and help I bought at least two things that were marked down a body pillow for my daughter and paper plates that showed up as full price they were both listed when picking them up as half off. To add insult to injury you can’t even call an Aldi store as their phone number is unlisted and unmanned to “help us keep the price low for you”. Very disappointed at the management that I can’t even call to see if they can rectify the situation instead I have to remember my receipt the next time I drive an hour to get to that Aldi store. That’s even if there is a record of the sale price. Do better Aldi

I stopped into the new Aldi location this evening for the first time with high hopes-- I used to love the Aldi where I lived in college. I'm hoping that the nearly bare shelves were just an indication of currently supply disruptions, but I couldn't even find bananas or clementines, which I think of as pretty basic.I was hoping to pick up a treat in the baked good section, but the selection was even more limited there, and the prices on several items were more than I'm used to paying for comparable products at Trader Joe's, which I think tends toward really good quality items.Though the store brand processed foods were a bit cheaper than I typically see at Walmart, it wasn't a huge difference, and a number of items that I frequently purchase were the exact same price.I'll certainly give it another try to be sure, but based on this visit I can't see passing up my go-to stores to visit one with a drastically more limited selection and marginally lower prices on average.

I tried to go to Aldi’s for the first time but didn’t have a quarter to get a cart. Who has change anymore? When I asked an employee if I could use a cart, he said that I absolutely had to bring it back. I assured him that I wasn’t there at 830 in the morning to steal a cart, but he insisted that I might because it happens. I had just pulled up in a car that doesn’t have the space for a cart in trunk, not that I want one anyway.

Nice, brand new store with a pretty solid selection as far as Aldi goes. It’s awesome to have these stores in State College, finally! What isn’t awesome is having an Aldi cashier literally throwing (not gently tossing…throwing) groceries into the cart. Looking at you Kent Bell. You need to realize that the second that item crosses the scanner, it isn’t yours anymore. It’s the customer’s. Either learn how care for things that aren’t yours and slow down or stay off register. Everyone has bad days, but it’s the impression from this side of the register that counts. If I see this guy, you can get that I’ll either leave my cart in the middle of the store and go somewhere else or wait in another line. Cool it, man.

Reasonable prices, not every item is the best but overall there are great and unique items. Make sure to bring your own bag and a quarter for the cart. One thing to note, this store seems to be a giant faraday cage and there's no cell phone signal inside so plan accordingly.

Low prices, simple shopping experience, fast checkout. Glad to have it in State College. Make sure to bring your own bags. Aldi does not provide bags. They have some reusable ones for sale though.

Really nice store! It's rather new still at this point so that probably helps. Lots of items to see here and the prices are very good......The check out guy seemed a little annoyed the day we were there, had a bit of an attitude!

Some item are cheaper than Walmart, Wegman's but still retain good quality. Currently, they do not provide any plastic bags. You have to bring your own shopping bag. Also, the cart need to be released by insetting a quarter coin.

It's Aldis, just a new building. Prices usually the cheapest on most items. AND from the staff I've spoken too. They treat them well. (I like shopping at places that treat employees with respect and the ability to pay there bills with one job)

It's an Aldi. In State College. Long past due. Higher quality, lower prices than Walmart. Chocolates, cheeses, and specialty items are must buys. Can easily buy all of the groceries you need in a store that is less than a quarter the size of other grocery stores. I will be back every week to check out what is new and get my family's groceries. If you haven't shopped at an Aldi before, bring your quarter & reusable shopping bags and become a convert to Aldi-ism.
