Love this store! I feel fortunate that this wonderful store is in my little town of Shrewsbury. It has a great deli and wonderful produce. The staff is friendly and available for all services. It is an excellent size for easily accessing all departments. It has a small town feel to it with customers respecting each other's space and keeping a friendly vibe toward each other. You will get a little exercise in the parking lot as it is on a hill, but there is staff working the lot to offer assistance to your car and even load it for you! The check-out employees are both young students and older folks that have been there forever! They all take care of you efficiently and in a friendly way. There is rarely a wait in line of more than one person ahead of you. The office managers are hands on with check out and any customer requests. The pharmacy is outstanding! The pharmacist recognizes me when I come to the counter and has my meds ready. He takes time to answer prescription questions and easily accesses my pharmacy records and insurance. I have been going to this store for over 15 years and I'm glad there has been little change in services.

About the only thing that brings us into Saubels is their bagels. Other in house baked items can be purchased elsewhere at better quality. Food & sundries here are more expensive than their competitors.

Betti was very rude to her employees and I do not approve of that, I will not shop here again until she is nice to her employees. I am looking out for my SAUBHOMIES.Dylan was one of my favorite employees and I am very upset now that he is gone.

I love their donuts and bagels and homemade salads. Nice meats, reasonable prices, great sales. I bought a quarter sheet cake for my son's birthday and they added a birthday message on it for me. I got a chocolate cake with butter cream icing. Everyone thought it was so good! It was moist and the icing wasnt too sweet. Very happy. Will be buying more cakes there.

I needed some spices, which I was able to find the organic spices I needed without having to buy whole containers and packages. Staff is super nice

I find when I need basic ingredients, this place is great. Super fast, in and out. My favorite thing is that I typically walk there. If I need something specific, like one Russel potato or things like Leaks, I will have better luck down the road.I always use Saubels for their bakery. It is a great bakery! Their donuts and cinnamon buns are top notch!Their customer service is great as well. They offer to try to get products if I like the product. I just don't typically do that because most of the time I don't need the product often enough to ask a local store to stock it.I'd also like to add that their meat selection is really good. I have found something as obscure as a pigs stomach in there.

I haven't been in this location for years and the way the sections are all layed out are weird. The corners of the store are like a maze to get around. Produce is fresh, love the meat selection.

A small town market vibe with the selection of a full supermarket. I will start off by saying there are herbs, spices and a coffee station which I really really appreciate! The deli meat was a little weird and watery so I don't know if I would purchase it again but everything else was of great quality and options to choose from. Especially the frozen seafood and prepared foods section. I also found most of the meat selection to be frozen which hinders my portioning but the prices were definitely fair. Overall, I wish I lived closer. I would live here lol just for the herbs and spice station.

Love,love,love! This is what a family business should be. Friendly, personable and VERY accomadating. If they do not have it they will try to get it! The prices may be a bit higher but you get what you pay for. I do not know if any others food store where people are happy to shop there( as seen in the fact that total strangers will speak and smile at you). Also they will shop and deliver to you if needed and they are a local family with roots in the community.

I only used the parking lot for parking during the fireworks but everyone I've spoken to loves that place. I'll have to get there and update this review down the road but nothing but good reviews everytime I brought this up to others.

Was told we could get a donut cake. The order very clearly stated that donuts should be stacked. Picked up the order and the donuts aren't stacked and we have to do it ourselves after debating with the bakery workers. The donuts don't even look good, the icing is cracked and falling off of some.

Great supermarket. Family and locally owned. They have the best selection and quality of meats by far. Also I love the free item Friday. They used to make really good jerky too. BRING BACK THE JERKY!

I love Saubel’s Markets in all their locations. We live in Shrewsbury and that is the store I most frequent. I have been a customer for about 30 years. I don’t have these types of issues when shopping there. Today was a different story that had me very upset when I left, without purchasing anything. Last week I bought four packs of Mrs. Wage’s Bread and Butter pickle spices. The sign on the only box, stated .99 while supply lasts. When I got home I noticed that I was charged 3.19 per pack. So, I put the receipt in my wallet to come back to the store. I went to the office booth and waited for the checker who was on the first register. She said she would be right with me. I explained the issue telling her if I couldn’t get them for the price on the sign last week that I would just return them. No problem so far. The manager came out and explained that he would return them. Great. No problem again, until he asked the other man in the office about it and this other man said, “There has never been a sign on it like that.” So, I am standing there feeling like they just called me a liar. I didn’t care if I got them for .99 or got the return price. I said that I was not lying and the manager handed me the 12.76 and started to walk away. Not saying I’m sorry or anything. I stopped him and said again that I was not lying and that I would not do such a thing. He just stood there putting his finger up his nose with a tissue. This kind of behavior for a manager of a store is not becoming to an family owned business or any business. I have been upset all day thinking about the way I was accused and looked down upon like I was trying to pull something over on them. I have given Saubel’s a four star because this store is a good one, but the way I was treated today has made me not want to return there shopping for a long while.

Ordered a cake and cupcakes for a baby shower earlier this week. I believe the lady that took my orders’ name was “Annie” but I could be mixing that up a bit. She was so helpful and patient with me as I decided what exactly I wanted. Michael, the decorator, did a wonderful job and they could not have turned out better! They also tasted great! So many people asked me where I got them because they enjoyed them so much! I will always come back here for future bakery needs! Thank you!!!

Never shopped here before the pandemic but I will certainly be shopping there after!!! We've been doing grocery pick up (far easier and quicker than other local chains) during this time and it's been too notch!! They always have what I need and will call for clarification or to ask if I need a substitution of they happen to be out of something particular. Above and beyond customer service!!! Wonderful service to help reduce my stress during this time and feel great shopping local!!

They are a fine place for shopping. They are sometimes missing a few big brands, and the store is pretty dirty. The ceiling tiles are starting to fall apart, and it game have a lot of dirt or dust on the floor and signs. The thing I would recommend is their doughnuts.(I was recently told how old the building actually was and now it makes sense with the little bit of ageing.)

I love this place. The selection is good, but more importantly, the employees have personality. Giant and Weis usually have unlikable Gen Zers that are too busy looking at their phones to help you. God forbid if you try to have a small conversation with them. It is a pleasure to shop at Saubel’s and I drive quite a distance to shop there.

This is a great store! It has exactly what you need....or at least what I love. Organic products throughout the store. Great weekly sales. They carry a ton of local products -many of which are organic. Delicious foods at the deli counter and a bakery thar always has a sweet smell of something delicious baking. But above all, the people who work there are very kind, friendly, patient and always ready to greet you with a smile!

I've been a customer for 50 years. Service is okay. Not like it used to be but then again nothing really is. Become a bit pricey lately along with everyone else. I am however finding it harder to maneuver on the parking lot. And there's no one to really help with groceries

Wanted fried chicken what was left was dry & hard. Was told just put in potatoes they would take 10 min .then I would have to water for the chicken to fry. Never had that problem with other stores
