CVS is the worst pharmacy ever. Closes at 7. When you arrive 5 min before closing, not realizing they close at 7, and they refuse to fill your script. Tell that to my 8 year old who has a horrible ear infection. It literally takes less than 5 min to fill. I've never once had a good experience with this pharmacy, or any CVS for that matter.

This pharmacy is the very definition of insanity. Every time my doctor sends in a prescription I receive a text saying the medication is out of stock, to wait two to three business days to hear back from them. You never hear back from them. This is because the medication is actually not out of stock. Your prescription is just sitting in purgatory with nothing being done with it. Meanwhile you are suffering and need a life saving medication. The issue is because their inventory system on the computer got "messed up" (exact words from an employee) so all medication is showing zero availability and your prescription is automatically sent to purgatory forever to wait for a shipment that is not arriving because it's not actually out of stock. The pharmacist who told me this said they would have to manually count and re-enter every medication to correct the inventory numbers and they don't have the time or employees to do this. So...all the prescriptions just go to purgatory and no one does anything. Hmmm. Guess that cuts down on the work load.

QUESTION: Does the mop and bucket in the second drive through window indicate that it is permanently closed or is it a malaria experiment?Although CVS is categorized as a pharmacy it's service doesn't reflect this as a priority at this location. Their automated systems pester you incessantly and their promises of fulfillment are worthless. How many times have I driven here to be told "we didn't get to it".Call first because the service here is lousy. I don't think anyone cares either.

This CVS is consistently understaffed, out of stock of most prescriptions, and never answers the phone or can answer for availability of said prescriptions. This location is a complete disaster and not run well, I feel so bad for the people working there.

Horrible pharmacy and employees. My family to this pharmacy to pick up prescriptions for my father who just had surgery, we came in the evening as my father was released from hospital late but the pharmacy was still open. We got the prescriptions but realized quickly they had not given us all that had been sent in by the doctor. The pharmacist turned us away when we came back in to let them know that they had not given us all his medicine but were told it would have to wait until tomorrow. It was their mistake, not ours. Will never come here again. Avoid this place especially if you have any necessary medications.

The auto refill is a waste of time. The text alerts rarely come through unless it's about a covid shot. Worst pharmacy around. I will be moving my business elsewhere. The pharmacy employees act as if any questions you have are a waste of their time. Have had employees roll their eyes multiple times, makes you mad enough to reach over the counter & slap some courtesy into them.

Terrible pharmacy. Don't bother calling, they won't answer. For a week now my Endo has sent in everything needed to fill my prescription. CVS claims they have not received anything. My doctor has called, faxed, electronically transferred any and all relevant documents. I have run out of a life saving medication due to this place just not doing the simplest of follow up work. I may never use a CVS again because of this place.

If I could give negative stars, I would. The pharmacy here is atrocious. The service is slow and the employees are rude. Time to switch to a different pharmacy with competent employees.

If I could give this pharmacy a minus 5 that is what I would do. My doctor called in two prescriptions to 606 S Main St., Shrewsbury, Pa. I went to the store and told them I was there. They told me the prescriptions were in the pharmacist’s cue and asked me to wait. I waited in the store for 1 hour and 40 minutes, then the pharmacy closed for lunch. REALLY! I had about $50 of other merchandise in my cart that I left because the pharmacy treated me like I wasn’t there! So, your store lost in both parts of the CVS store. I called the pharmacy when I got home and was on hold for 35-40 minutes. You cost me 2 1/2 plus hours in my day waiting for NOTHING!! The only good thing, when someone finally answered the pharmacy phone, this person helped me and her name is Beth. You know, I understand being busy, that is an a shameful excuse! AND i for one am tired of hearing it. I am a consumer and paying more for purchases but, getting NO customer service just hearing excuses, excuses, excuses!!! This CVS is not worthy of my money. I am not using your pharmacy ever again!!!

Update 6/16/22:This was a 5 star review and I loved this place but it has become horrible. Maybe it was on a good stint when I first used it and that explains the other bad reviews from before my time there.Over the last 2 months they can’t keep simple things in stock and then it takes 2+ weeks to get restocked when other pharmacies in the area have it on hand.Lately they have problems keeping the place open. Tonight a pharmacist from Harrisburg had to come down just so they could stay open after 4 one day this week. Even that pharmacist agreed it may be a good idea to switch locations if we need to be able to come in after work to pick up medications. My wife and I are moving our business to Giant Pharmacy in Shrewsbury and hoping we have better luck there. This location lost their good pharmacist, or something to suddenly have so many problems but I’m not trying to ride it out hoping they recover./////I don’t understand how they have so many low ratings. We tried other pharmacies in the area and they never had what we needed in stock. CVS always does.We don’t have any problems with them honoring prescriptions and they call and get renewals if we’re on the last fill after they confirm with us.We get flu and other shots here with no problems also.Everyone has always been friendly and helpful. This is a great pharmacy.

Remembered I needed toothpaste so stopped in on the way home. There were no humans at the checkout so I had to use the self checkout. Your machine could not believe that I wished to buy two identical tubes of toothpaste and locked up so a human had to come reset it. This was quite frustrating and time consuming. The extra screens of info and offers did not improve my mood. I disagree strongly with this business model of eliminating normal human interaction with the hope of reducing costs. Judging by the price of the toothpaste y'all seem to have a lot of overhead anyway. I can not think of a single reason to shop at CVS again when there are other options in town.

Not impressed. I went to get a flu vaccine and a COVID booster. It took 30 minutes beyond my appointment time to see me. The pharmacist brought out vaccines for multiple people by just putting the syringes in a little basket and bringing them to the vaccination area, which doesn't seem safe to me. Maybe it's the best practice (?) but it didn't make me feel very safe. He also didn't wear a mask, which I know is a personal choice at this point but it just feels like something he should be doing if he's in close quarters with so many people during flu season. When he gave me my shots, he did it way too high on my arm. I'm pretty sure he hit a nerve because my fingertips went tingly and numb almost immediately.Post-shots, there was no discussion of side effects or encouragement for me to wait a few minutes, Which I know has been standard after COVID vaccines. He also didn't tell me how to get my vaccination card back until I explicitly asked him.Overall, not impressed by this pharmacy. I definitely won't be coming back to get my vaccines here.

No one ever answers the phone. I have been sitting waiting for someone to even answer for 15 minutes. I’ve had the wrong number of pills a few times. Sometimes they are closed even during “open hours”. Like closed random times of the day. The only reason we use this pharmacy is because my insurance will only cover CVS prescriptions. But literally THE WORST.

Released from hospital with instructions to immediately pick up blood thinners Rx , called to confirm the copay and when ready. I was informed that theprescription was available now for pick up. Went to the pharmacy, rudest cashier in the drive thru. No prescription was found. Never count on this pharmacy. They could not have cared less.

The CVS at 606 south main St in Shrewsbury sucks . They are always closed and I'm crippled and I need my meds . They need works that actually work . I'm on MS meds and they get a lot of money to fill these meds . This is the worst drug store in York county. And when they decide to be open the drive through is normally close and as a crippled person I can't get my meds because I can't walk . This store shouldn't even be a drug store it should just close up for good . The works are useless. What in the hell is going on with this pharmacy it's always closed and they can't get my medicine right or my insurance right. And the pharmacist has hung up on me several times he’s very ignorant

Improper (or no) Documentation/Data Entry of Vaccines!12/13/2022 - I went to Shrewsbury CVS to get a FLU shot and Covid Booster Vaccine. My husband went a few days before for the same thing. Lynn B administered BOTH shots (on different days) and she did not enter the Covid Booster Vaccine info for EITHER of us into the CVS Database. Very Bad procedure. CVS had no record of my husband or I having the Covid Booster Vaccine.I can understand an occasional error, but 2 people on 2 different days - shows bad procedure. And - I think CVS should have the information - what if there's a bad batch? My husband and I both took our Covid cards in (at different times). They fixed his immediately. For me ... they left if for Lynn B to fix ... and that didn't happen. It took 2 more phone calls (with waiting the proper time in between). I'm Hoping it is fixed now, but probably not ...

The pharmacy service here is lousy. This CVS has a pharmacy but it is obviously not a priority. In my experience they are usually understaffed. My children’s prescriptions are never filled on the first pick-up attempt, and we are usually told to come back at another time as was the case again today. I will be finding another place to have my families scripts filled. Call ahead if you use their services.

This is literally the worst cvs pharmacy i have ever dealt with. Every single month there is an issue. I’ve been going here for over 10 years and within the last 4 it’s gone completely downhill. Just shut it down. If you’re a new patient, go anywhere else.

Update: After going through all this back and forth, we finally figured out that there was a communication problem. I really give kudos to associate Pam for figuring it all out and setting it to rights. She was awesome! My fault for not wrapping my head around it all and spouting off prematurely.A family member takes medication for a heart condition. Going through insurance is still $100 per month. CVS told us to get the $10 copay card and they would reimburse us the money. Went home, immediately filled out all the information to get the copay card, was told we were accepted, and printed out the card. Took the card and receipt back to CVS the next morning. Associate had to ask the pharmacist. Pharmacist didn’t even pull up the insurance info, didn’t even know who it was that was requesting the refund. Just automatically said “no.” Said the type of insurance excluded us from using the copay card. Now, another family member was on the same exact medication, same insurance, everything. We were able to take advantage of the copay card. Told the associate this, and she told the pharmacist. “Don’t know why, but nope.” Called doctor’s office and pleaded for their help. Nurse called the pharmaceutical company that makes the medication, gave them all the insurance information. Pharmaceutical company said we are eligible for the copay card, no problem. Was informed what the pharmacist said and was told that the pharmacist was wrong and if they won’t let us use the copay card, then go to a different pharmacy. As this is just the latest in a long string of problems we’ve had with CVS, am seriously considering pulling all the family’s medications and going elsewhere.

Had to pick up prescriptions after going to Urgent care in Shrewsbury, late in the evening. Got there about 10 minutes after leaving Urgent Care, and told pharmacy assistant that they had just called it in. Told me it would be a few minutes. The girl that helped me kept apologizing for how long I had to wait, but told her that it just got called in and am in no hurry. She then called me up and started to ring me out, but realized the price was high, and asked if I had insurance. She took the time to add me in their system, which ended up saving me over $60. She was very professional and polite, and would definitely use this location again, if ever needed.

This morning the pharmacy was busy as is the case most days. No surprise, because the staff and pharmacist are always working orders in an asap and professional manner.A particular appreciation on my part, as Doug the pharmacist step down to work the additional register to deliver my order. The CVS in Shrewsbury is a 5 star orperation.

7/3/20: Of course this is CVS we are talking about, so the problem from 6/23/30 is not resolved yet. After I visited CVS on 6/23, I got a text from CVS saying my corrected prescription would be ready and could be picked up on 6/29. Even though they just gave me a prescription for the wrong dosage, this is a different prescription The corrected prescription (which for some reason CVS decided to fill at an incorrect dosage) could be picked up on 6/29 as the insurance company would not approve it for release until then.So I went to CVS today to pick it up. Was it ready - of course not. Was there a record of it - no, of course not.I just finished speaking with the CVS Shrewsbury pharmacist who gave me a completely different story from the drive-through window person. They still do not know why they gave me the wrong prescription dosage, but if I wanted to I could pick the corrected one I could do so tomorrow, July 4, which they say is the new date the insurance company will allow her to be released.Happy holidays from CVS!6/23/20: Latest problem - this time the prescription was filled but at the wrong dosage.I paid for my prescription, and when I got home I saw the dosage was incorrect. I am called back CVS and said they would immediately refill my meds and I would hand in my incorrect bottle for the correct one it, but that didn’t happen. Instead, I got a text message saying ‘your prescription is too soon to be refilled’ and I can’t pick it up for another week, even though it was just refilled, though at the incorrect dosage.Anyone who gets a prescription refilled needs to check to make sure everything is the same as last time, usage is the same, the shape and color of the pills are the same, anything you can easily check because you just never know what you’re going to be handed.Horrible service. I came by the drive-through window this morning to see if my prescription was ready and whether I could get it a day early since I had lost a couple of pills down my sink. The lady at the window said it would be fine to pick it up a day early, there would be a note if someone else was there, and to come by in a couple of hours. This afternoon when I checked in with them, a different person said there’s no record of any request from me, and they do not let pills be released early under any circumstances. This is a lie of course, since they have done so for me a couple of times in the past.

I visited the Pharmacy twice in last 2 weeks and on both occasions I had the pleasure to be waited on by Christian. He gave excellent customer service and was very professional !!! Some of the other staff should follow his example !! My insurance makes me fill at your store and I haven't had very pleasant experiences there in the past when picking up my prescriptions. My insulin was not refrigerated when I went to pick it up and the cashier was rude and acted like it wasn't a big deal..The Pharmacist Hunter is great and so is someone named Pam who I've talked to on the phone. I work in a Pharmacy so I know customers can be demanding at times ..but that doesn't make it ok to treat them badly. So great job Christian keep doing your job so well and maybe some of your co-workers will pick up on your great service .

Had to switch from Walmart to CVS recently. We have had nothing but issues. One medicine was supposed to be a 90-day supply and it took several tries for them to finally fill the 90-day supply instead of a 30-day supply. They kept blaming the doctor. Recently I asked why they always fill a generic instead of a brand. They said something along the lines of insurance will not pay for the brand. However, there was a mix up and a prescription went to Walmart and Walmart filled the brand for a cost of $15.00. We canceled it and went through CVS. They filled the generic for a cost of $15.00. One medication we needed to refill they were out of for a week and this happened on more then one occasion. We NEVER had any of these issues at Walmart. Plus the staff are hit or miss as several are extremely rude.

If possible I would definitely give location “0” stars. I rarely write reviews and am only doing so to share my disappointment in hopes that corporate CVS will try to correct the issues. Getting automatic refill is a complete waste of time...9 out of 10 times your prescription will not be ready EVEN IF you receive a call it is ready. I’ve received incorrect medications, and the only the only excuse is, “Sorry, we’ve been really busy.” It’s painfully obvious you’re staff is either overwhelmed or incompetent.

Good customer service and helpful staff. The only reason for deducting a star is that I can hardly find stuff easily and some things are often not in the same place as last time. For me, I can’t expect to run in and come right back out. Good greeting card selection and they do have some OTC products that are hard to find elsewhere right now. They added self checkout which is great.

Every pharmacy I've ever been to has your prescription ready in 15min. This CVS takes way to long. I'm talking people waiting over an hour. Everytime without fail I'm told my prescription is ready I show up to pick it up and guess what? ITS NOT READY!!! This has been a on going issue at this pharmacy and CVS obviously cant get it figured out. CVS YOUR CUSTOMERS DESERVE BETTER!!!!!

Absolutely terrible service. Many times have I set appointments for pickups, called ahead, and receive calls my prescriptions are ready for pickup. Just to arrive and be told they would need to be filled, and I would need to wait 20 to 30 minutes. One instance I had very bad strep throat and went to the doctor to get a prescription for antibiotics. I called ahead to verify my prescription would be ready for pickup. I called ahead because this Pharmacy is so terrible but I wanted to make sure the prescription will be ready for pickup. I was told it would be ready in 30 minutes. She said they just got the prescription, and it was being filled as she was talking to me. When I finally got there the guy behind the counter lied to me and told me that they just got the prescription, and it would be 15-20 minutes before will be ready for pickup. I almost pulled the guy through the window.I hate lazy people lying to me. Never go here, never get a prescription filled here, avoid at all cost. 0 out of 5 stars.

The first couple times I visited the store I was treated nicely; since then, just another bothersome customer. My most recent experience prompted me to write a review - my prescription was shown as “in process” online for a few days but I needed it so I called to ask if it can be filled tomorrow, and I was interrupted THREE times by whoever answered the phone - she didn’t want nor have the patience to listen to me; she just wanted to get off the phone as quickly as possible. VERY rude. Writing this in hopes someone there will see it and do something about it, though not really expecting it....
