Every time I come here I cannot find a single worker that is ready and available to help. They’re always standing around the back of the store talking, hiding in the back talking orJust not working. The store is a disorganized mess and oddly poorly lit making it impossible to find any product I need. Then when you do find a worker they are NOT friendly. They always make you feel like you inconvenienced them, but I shouldn’t be begging to find a worker and I shouldn’t beg someone to help me. Company’s just hire any one anymore. Doesn’t matter their work ethic

While the store is well stocked and has a nice layout, the cashier left a lot to be desired. She grabbed the money out of my hand, then said she was sorry. She stated, "I'm trying to go on my cigarette break." She was very loud while we were shopping, complaining about how slow the register was. Sorry, not a very good representative of good or even fair customer service.

I visited this store for the first time and it looks pristine on the photos on the web, ho. We've once inside it seemed very unorganized to me. You had food items toward one side of the store then as you went through the store there were food items on the shelves in the same isles as cleaning supplies etc. There seemed to be no rhyme or reason to the way this store is set up compared to others with the same name.

A HUGE THANK YOU to the sales associate Kimberly at the Shartlesville PA location!! I went in with a $1.01 in my bank account and $8 in my CashApp that I can’t even access lol and all this due to my weekly pay being stopped abruptly and unexpectedly. I asked Kimberly if there was anyway I could transfer the $8 to someone and use it to buy some cans of fruit. She asked what cans of fruit I grabbed 2 and she took $4 out of her own pocket and bought those 2 cans of fruit for me without even thinking twice. Human kindness does still truly exist. I’ve called dollar general corporate headquarters to fill them in on there employee’s selfless actions and hope she can be rewarded someway. It’s people like Kimberly who help me to remain positive and remind me that there still is good in the world even when I’m feeling hopeless since our own government doesn’t even step up when humans are in need especially not without the proper forms!! I’d like to know when paperwork became more important than actual people!!!! If you do stop in at that location please let Kimberly know how much what she did was so above and beyond her job and how absolutely incredible that small act of kindness was. Small side note...while talking to corporate at the end of the conversation I asked if dollar general who is a multi multi multi billion possibly trillion dollar company would be able to in any way maybe help me get a few more food items to get me through until I get my income back and I was told to contact the actual store. I would have thought for sure this huge corporation would have loved to step up and help in my time of need just like there sales associate Kimberly whom by the way I’m only guessing isn’t worth many billions possibly trillions. Sadly I was incorrect and the buck was passed off and was redirected to ask that question elsewhere but will be contacting the district manager of this location to see what she says. Fingers crossed with positive thoughts!! 🤓 😎

This place is a mess. Omg. I don't think I ever want to come back here. The aisles are so close together and it looks so sloppy in there. Also, everyone in here, including the customers have a HUGE staring problem. The workers also seem miserable.

Dollar General beat Family Dollar with one thing and I'm sure in other items as well. For one, the 21 ounce box of Cheez-Its (family size) Dollar General has it for 4$ a box, Family Dollar has it for 4.85$ for the same box. I'm always happy with clerks at all of the Dollar General thier personality is A+. I always used to go the older store in Hamburg Pa Berks County when I was a teen to buy my Panasonic batteries for my tape recorder then they where 4-C size pack 75cents. Dollar General is like and old friend that still around.

Very clean and organized. Didnt see any staff right away because they were stocking shelves which surprised me with them being next to the highway seemed a little to lax for security reasons.

Dollar General has many of the things you need and it is a place where you can get in and out quickly. Picked up a bag of ice today and the cashier even helped me get the bag out of the ice freezer.

Awesome manager. Manager and assistant manager always helpful. Clean inside store. Fresh products. Help the rest by authorizing landscaping. The beds are horrible.

The lady with the dark wavy hair is always commenting on things i purchase. Will drive to hamburg dollar general not to be judged on my purchases. I believe she maybe the manager. Way to go to show your employees what not to do!
