I took my spot-dogg to Pottsgrove Animal hospital vet for 16 years, never ever was the staff rude to me or our fur-babie . And when we had to put our beloved spot dogg to sleep during COVID they let us come in after closing hrs so we could be with him. The staff and vet were super caring. We we're able to stay with him after he passed over the rainbow to green pasture for as long as we need to. The price was reasonable for the sweet wooden box he's laying to rest in my living room. And I will be taking my bunny there if Mr Cuddles ever needs to see vet.

The pottsgrove animal hospital appears to have been around for a very long time. We recently moved to the area and needed veterinarian services and they were amazing. First impressions walking in is the lobby could use a refresh to display a little bit more modern appearance. Setting that aside. Everyone I interacted with was amazing. They are consistently caring about my pet and interact with me personally in a caring manner as well. I recently also used their pet boarding services. And it's obvious my pet had a great experience with them and came home a happy pet. I've used other services when I lived in another town in my pet did not come back. A happy pet. This group of people or truly pet focused. I recommend their veterinarian and pet boarding services. Don't let the older building fool you. These people are amazing.

We take our small animals there and I cannot say enough good things about this place! You can tell he actually cares about the animals and isn't just trying to rip people off. The doctor is great, the prices are very reasonable and the staff I very friendly.

Have been taking my Pug and Norwegian elkhound to Dr. Shreves for the past 2 years, and will stick with this vet going forward. Truly knowledgeable and compassionate. One of the only vets we’ve been to that doesn’t charge 1/2 of what a puppy would cost per visit. We are more than happy and satisfied with this establishment.

I currently have an urgent matter with my pug, we believe he had a stroke. All this facility did was refer us to other places. “Emergency and Urgent Care” is a lie/false advertising.

Awesome people here with a considerate and genuine care for animals. I had my cat in for some very concerning health issues and I was tight on a budget, they did everything they could for me and have been following up on my cats condition. These people are professionals and I would highly recommend you have your animals here.

Sadly 0 stars is not an option, horrible bed side manor stay away, I repeat stay away. That clown of an owner (aledged Dr) elbowed our 2 1/12 year old dog because she was scared. That POS is not qualified to be a dog walker let alone a Vet. He's all about the money NOT about the care of your pet ! We now go to Harlysville Animal Hospital, best Vets around 👍

I know it sounds cliche but we view our 7 year old cat, named Kitty, as our daughter. My family was looking for a trustworthy and knowledgeable veterinarian. In 7 years we had still not found one that we trusted. Kitty had been spayed a few years ago at a vet that is no longer in business and the bad experience had left both our cat and ourselves with a fear of veterinarians. Unfortunately, we were forced to choose a vet when Kitty (who was a very healthy eater and slightly overweight) suddenly stopped eating and drinking and continued to do so for days to the point where she lost quite a bit of weight, stopped playing, started sleeping all the time, started hiding to sleep, and was lethargic when not asleep!I searched the Internet for veterinarians in our area and began reading reviews because I have found the star system to be inaccurate when it comes to some locations. Deciding on this place was the best choice we have made in pet care! The dr and staff were gentle, caring, knowledgeable and professional. In addition to outstanding service, the price was great. We paid HALF the price that the "cheapest vet in the area" (w the highest stars) had quoted me for the same exact services! We loved that there weren't any "hidden charges" and appreciated being told the price BEFORE service is rendered.I'm truly grateful to Dr, Shreves! Not only did he calm our cat but, he relieved our stress as well, by giving us knowledge on the situation. Another thing that also lessened our concern was just witnessing the care that our cat was receiving by the hospital. Kitty needed blood tests and Dr. Shreves immediately drew her blood with Kitty only giving him a mean look! I had been expecting lots of blood (not hers lol) because she can be a tough patient! Dr. Shreves not only called us personally with the results but he also was on call and answered both nights that we called in with urgent questions that could not wait until the animal hospital opened early the next morning. Before her emergency appointment was over, I requested that he be her veterinarian in the future. There's nothing more reassuring than seeing a "family member" being cared for in such an experienced and considerate way. I rarely write reviews but do so when I experience remarkable service. I recommend this veterinarian to everyone who cares about the quality of care given to their pets.FOLLOW UP: After the medicine the Dr. ordered, Kitty is fine, in great health, and has regained her weight. We really couldn't be happier knowing that we have a place that we trust to take care of all of her needs. A few weeks ago, my husband found abandoned baby squirrels and we have been raising them ever since. I used the medicine syringes from Kitty's medicine given to us by the Dr, to feed the baby squirrels (obviously AFTER sanitizing them)! After using them for so long they began to stick. Desperate to find something to feed the squirrel babies with, I called the vet and was given more for FREE! Definitely a caring facility!!

I want to say the veterinarian at this clinician is an amazing kind hearted man I came in there with a dog that I found in an alleyway small puppy couldn’t have been more than five months old I I was sure he wasn’t gonna make it. He was so weak he can hold his own head up I came in the office frantically have never been there before the nurse got us right back got the doctor to us he came off a little bit. Like a sour candy, but when he realized that this dog was a abandon in an alleyway and he was gonna die, if he didn’t help him he moved quick sprung, in the action after stabilizing him he called the SPCA and the SPCA rejected him because he had a rare disease and his injuries were just too severe he was hit by a car after relentless nights of round the clock care he nursed this amazing little Puppy back to full health

My cat was very sick so I took him to this “hospital”. The woman at the front desk acted like she didn’t want to help me from the beginning. She said that an emergency visit was $120. Completely fine. I was in an emergency situation. Then she “consulted” the doctor. He said that if it was a blockage he just wouldn’t have the time. I then said that the name was extremely misleading and wouldn’t have wasted my time going there. She was talking back to me even as I left the door holding my very sick pet. The worst experience imaginable in a crisis.

Dr. Shreves took 3 of my phone calls the day after Christmas when my puppy was sick. He advised on things I could try at home to help with his symptoms so I would not have to pay the emergency fee (office was closed, as were most others). Ended up going in and opening office for us, and I am pretty sure it was equal parts to help my poor dog and my anxiety over him being sick :) He treated my puppy and charged a fair price. Switching to him as our regular vet going forward. Very kind to both of my puppies and me. When I called for an appointment for my other puppy that also got the virus the lady that answered was very nice and and provided great customer service.

Everyone was very friendly, and dedicated their time to answering my questions.From the outside, the place looks smaller and older than other vets I've been to but I would definitely recommend coming here because they were professional and very caring about my pet.

Super quick and easy vet visit. Diagnosed my cat very quickly & was very kind to us. Was the only vet that would actually see us on short notice without having to wait 8+ hrs for an emergency vet. Was greeted by a sweet orange kitty and the price was very good for the visit and meds. I will be returning!

I had nothing but a great experience for a very difficult time. I was scrambling to find a place that would see my hamster last minute because I knew he wasn't doing well. They booked him the same day. And as I feared he needed to be laid to rest. They were so kind and comforting, I have never lost a pet. They were upfront about all costs and the doctors bedside manner and personality was just amazing. They also sent me a condolence card, signed with everyones name at the practice, which really touched my heart. A week after my cat was sick and I booked her right away. She was doing better within hours. I will never see another vet. Affordable, kind, reliable.

my experience here was rough when i took my pet they were very rough handling and were smothering her in a towel to where she couldnt breathe and they kept giving me misinformed payments and when i called to ask they were very rude and not very polite and were yelling at me then told me to take my business else where because i was asking what exactly my payments were made to after they messed up all my payments and not very helpful my experience was definitely not the best here and i DO NOT RECOMMEND they also charged me for an extra visit that could have been done the first time i went. ontop of that the place is very dirty unmaintained and they tried telling me when they neuter my cat she has to stay over night? FOR YOU ANIMALS SAFETY AND HEALTH I DO NOT RECOMMEND AND PERSONALLY WILL NEVER TAKE MY ANIMAL HERE AGAIN but i do 10/10 recommend diannes discount vet i never had a problem.

Also, my cat (usually cries the whole time in his crate) wasn't anxious returning for his THOROUGH check up. My dog had suddenly become ill and seemed to be in a lot of pain. I called our normal vet who couldn't see her for a couple of days but the staff at Pottsgrove Animal Hospital got her in the same day. Everyone was kind and professional. Turns out my princess had Lyme disease, was treated, and is feeling much better. Thank you Pottsgrove Animal Hospital!

We took my daughter’s bunny to see Dr. Shreves today due to a parasite problem. There was actually a bot fly larva growing under our bunny's skin! I was very impressed with professional, down to earth, friendly and wonderful service we received from Dr. Shreves and his staff.I also wanted to mention the fact that we do not have regular visits with the vet for our bunny but when we called the office the receptionist was able to accommodate us the very next day.Thank you PAH for helping us today and making Sara well again!

Made the mistake of going there AFTER I read the reviews. PLEASE choose an UPSTANDING vet in the area. Not one that just wants to take your money. I also had to initial 3 pages worth of ‘policies’ about making sure payment is made, etc. this is NOT normal. I was unable to go to my regular vet today so I choose here. And when I explained what my normal what had done he said it was basically malpractice and that I had to admit my cat and spend $500-$600 for the same thing my regular vet did for roughly $150 along with antibiotics. I am capable of watching for any signs of trouble if there was more care needed. I had to also sign a paper that I declined care. Of course I did! I will be sure to let my regular vet know this doctors comment on how they run their practice. Also, I thought my cat peed in his carrier, it stank like cat pee in there, especially the exam room, only to find the towel in the carrier was dry and still smelled like fabric softener. PLEASE find another local vet!

Took my Cat Benny here for his first check up after I Adopted him and despite him freaking out pretty bad they were very kind and experienced with frightened cats. They were extremely professional and down to earth. I never been to a vet before and honestly I was quite nervous because I always heard they just waste your money but they definitely changed my view. I feel safe knowing I can trust them to care for Benny when and if I need them.

If I could rate 0 I would the woman was rude from the minute I walked in (wearing holey sweats) didn’t seem to care about my dog at all , office smelled horrible of bleach to cover up the mold caking the entire building . They didn’t even have a floor in the X-ray room , X-ray machine was staned yellow from how old it was and caked in dirt . Forced my big dog to get on a table that lifted in the air bc the vet (her husband) was too big to bend over . I paid 180$ and I’m disgusted . Vet gave my dog oxitocin even though it’s suppose to be given within 24h and it’s been 50h . Reporting this facility bc it’ honestly should not be open if they can’t maintain even a proper floor or mold issue.

Took our pitbull there one time that was one time too much. The doctor elbowed our dog. He claimed to settle her down. I should have elbowed him. You don't hurt a dog especially when you're a vet !!!! Best I can say is STAY AWAY NOT A GOOD VET !!!!!! On the positive side the staff are very nice.

Have to tell ya, I was skeptical of using this vet after the mixed reviews! But I'm new to the area, my neighbor highly recommended this vet and I had an 8 week old puppy who was swelling up like a balloon, so I didn't have the luxury of time to research a bunch of vets. But I am so happy that I went to Dr Shreve! They got me in within an hour, just before closing. The staff was very friendly and couldn't get enough kisses from my puppy. Dr Shreve was very patient with me and allllllll of my questions. Very thorough exam! Gave me a couple of options on how WE could treat this issue (spider bite). I loved how he included me and didn't just tell me what to do. Worked within the budget that I told him that I had, as well! Very patient man...I was the last appointment of the night and didn't feel rushed at all. We even shared stories of our common love of Comic Con conventions, lol. Very knowledgeable and friendly! I'm glad I went with this practice and will be taking all 3 of my dogs to him in the future!

The price is good for the care my animals have received but the receptionist is very rude talking over me when I called and asked about an illness I’m concerned my cat has and wouldn’t explain the signs and symptoms just kept saying they need to see the cat to diagnose. When I explained I didn’t have the money to pay them and that’s why I was calling the lady still kept insisting I bring my cat in. Wouldn’t even listen to anything I said just continued to talk over me.

After seeing the bad rating that Pottsgrove has on here, I felt the need to come on and give them the great review they deserve. We needed to spay our dog and our vet was estimating $350+. A friend told me about the online spaying certificate ($110) and Pottsgrove was a hospital that accepted this. I called to confirm and I spoke to Debbie who answered all of my questions and was very knowledgeable. We were able to schedule our dog for her spaying with no issues. The surgery went well and she was kept overnight for monitoring. We went back 10 days later to have her sutures removed. Not one issue with them! So yes, I would highly recommend! By accepting this online spaying certificate, they saved us hundreds of $.

I have been taking my pets to Dr Shreves for the past 13 years. So far he has shown nothing but compassion and professionalism. At first I was baffled by how this isn't at least a 4.5 star establishment on EVERY review platform.Then I realized most folks these days are incredibly stupid (no offense to any of you dummies out there). Go ahead and read some of those bad reviews. They're astounding. "Dr Shriefs fail to ressarrect my dog who had olny been died for a cuople days" or "The lady on the phone was rude because she wouldn't diagnose my pet over the phone, sheesh, its like they're trying to be profitable or something, what is WRONG with this place??"Do yourself a favor and read the negative reviews. Then do your pets a favor and schedule them a visit with Dr Shreves.
