Purchased my male leopard gecko, Blizzard, about two years ago from Jay’s stall at the Baltimore reptile show and he has been the most amazing gecko I’ve ever had. Extremely personable and a healthy appetite from the moment I got him home! He’s never been one to shy away from the camera and always greets me when I walk into the room. Amazing breeding, thank you Jay’s for my perfect little guy!

I recently bought a ball python from Jay and Bob at Jays Exotics at the Baltimore Reptile convention. The two of them made sure I had everything I needed and were super helpful in the overall process. I can’t recommend them enough and I will 100% be purchasing all my future reptiles and reptile food from them. Communication, customer service, and the overall experience was a 10/10. My daughter and I have been researching bearded dragons for a little while now. She became interested in them after learning about them from her vets in training class. We knew we wanted to go to an expert and somewhere that we knew the bearded dragon would be healthy and well-cared for when it was time to purchase. We found Jay’s and I am so happy we did. Lauren was so knowledgeable and patient with all my questions. We brought home Luna today and I feel confident that we’ve provided her a safe and healthy environment. I will be back to get supplies and food! Highly recommend!!

I've done alot of deals with Jay and the store everything is as discussed animals are in great health I've taken home a retic from them and I was told he'scage aggressive WICH IS NORMAL FOR RETICS and the only problem i have is hes clingy and doesnt want to go back other than that I've nothing but the best and easiest of times with him he's a great snake with a even better attitude and everyone of the staff are very nice and respectful

If you are in the market for a new reptile I highly recommend Jay's exotics, everyone is super helpful and down to earth. We expressed an interest in a gecko they did not have in the store, but Jay was awesome enough to go to another location and back so we could see it. We ended up going home with a new pet and an awesome tank set up they set up for us to go home with! Thanks so much guys!!!

Stopped in for the first time yesterday since I've been literally high and low looking and searching for cork rounds since im going bioactive. I got there and only found one that was the right size in their bin, and originally I was a little disappointed but glad I at least found one. The two people I met asked what was up, and went above and beyond searching the hell out of the place for more for me. They were so willing to help and were so nice to chat with while I was there and I really appreciate how far they jumped to try and find me more cork bark, they even broke a big one down for me so I could go home with a third peice <3 now im desperate as ever to go back, everything they have is everything I ever and always end up needing most if not all of the time.

I usually don't have a problem with this store, bur yet this is the first time I have bought I live pet from there. I purchase a Pacman frog Thursday July 21, and today is July 23rd on a Saturday, and my frog is dead. I before I purchased the animal, I asked all necessary questions for care. Never was I told there was no money back guarantee on amphibians at time of purchase. I call and basically they're telling me that there's nothing that they can do so I'm out $45. For this to be a small business, you would think they would try to keep there customers happy. Needless to say, I won't be shopping here again. I can always take my money somewhere else. So don't buy any animals from here, because if something happens your just out of your money.

Stopped in today for the grand opening. What an amazing store with so many reptiles to choose from. Jay was so friendly, knowledgeable and passionate while speaking about the store, his love of reptiles and answering all the questions I had! AMAZING reptile shop. Everything is SPOTLESS. Like is there even glass on that tank spotless. You can tell the animals are extremely well cared for and cared about. Jay is the nicest guy, easiest to talk to, and has tons of knowledge. This store was something Philly sorely needed. He's got the best quality feeders for all kinds of reptiles. He feeds the bugs organic meals that are better than what I'm eating! If you need anything go here and get some advice, some great prices, and genuine care. Or just go look at all the cool animals in this mini zoo!

My daughter wanted a corn snake as a birthday present. After searching reputable pet stores we came across Jay's and I'm glad we did. My daughter is a first time snake owner so she needed a lot of help getting started. We asked millions of questions while purchasing our snake and a million more after we purchased it. Jay and his employees answered all our questions. He has always called us back if he wasn't in when we needed help. Our snake was really shy at first when it came to feeding so it took several attempts to get him to eat for us our first time and Jay and his team were with us every step of the way. He even let us bring in our whole set up to make sure our snake was set up right and comfortable. Following all of Jay's advice our snake finally felt comfortable to eat his first meal with us. Jay's really cares about his animals and i recommend him 1000 times over for all your pet needs. Considering a turtle for my son next

Stopped in this place around a week ago to get a new enclosure for my geckos and this will definitely be my new go-to exotic reptile and plant store. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They set me up with everything I needed for a bioactive terrarium and gave me all the info I needed on any question I asked. Variety of supplies, reptiles, amphibians, and live plants that are constantly being restocked and refreshed so every time you visit there will be some new stuff. Wound up purchasing a beautiful coral ghost corn snake while I was there too! Staff even helped me carry what I bought to my car. Highly recommend this place. Thank you guys.

My first visit to a reptile shop. Very impressed with the time the gentleman took to answer all 🤣🤣 of my questions and just the general knowledge base. And unlike most people if i asked a question on an animal they were not super familiar with they said as much. Good selections of all kinds of things and a live plant section! And the Skinks!!! 💜💜💜

I bought my first ever reptile, a baby crested gecko here a year ago on my birthday, and now i’m purchasing a beautiful baby blue tongue skink! The staff are always friendly and it’s great to see people as enthusiastic about keeping reptiles as I am! " friends and family of the owner"BEWARE: when buying frozen feed. "SEE PICS"We drove through on a trip, stopped in and the shop looks nice. Prices are high however we needed some Pinky and rats. We purchased $90 worth. on 5 pack of rats and 25 pinky mice. Frozen.when we got home, we went to put the frozen bags in the freezer and noticed something in the bags. closer inspection we found handful of magets in the bags. we had to destroy the bags of stuff we got from them.I am now out $90 plus our frozen meals for our reptiles. I will not take the chance of feeding these to my reptiles. if they have mites then they could have other problems.I opened the frozen Rat bag and found lots of debris stuck all over the rats. not sure what it was, however was not going to feed this to my Burmese and have her get backed up.This was my fault for not checking the bags when she brought them out and me paying for them.However shame on you, for operating a dirty, mite/ maget infested operation.We will unfortunately not choose this place in the future.I recommend anyone who reads this not purchase from here either.Edit after response from the owner.You may have me confused with someone else.Since you think we inspected the bags together because that did not happen. And I was not confused on the sizes nor did you show me the sizes. I asked for 25 frozen pinky and I grabbed a large rat package out of your freezer that you have up frontAnd if you say that you inspect everything when it comes in then why is there mites inside of the packages?.This just proves my point from your lies. I reiterate again once more do not purchase from this facility.Unfortunately, instead of trying to fix the situation, you've dug your whole deeper

Love this place! I shop here exclusively for all my reptile needs. We have a gecko, tortoises and even exotic cockroaches. Jay and his awesome staff have shared their time, expertise and general kindness with no limits. A gem in South Philly!

I called and spoke with Lauren today, I was on the hunt for isopods for my crested geckos Habitat. She was super sweet and full of knowledge. The shop is so organized and so much more affordable. She answered my kids questions and all of mine. And we ended up coming home with a pacman frog too! Thanks Lauren, well be back soon!

I live in Germantown but this was close to work so I gave it go.The girl who was working the register has something you don't find in any customer service anymore.Like a genuine kindness.Just couldnt have been any nicer.She was very knowledgeable. I dont know how much the stuff was.It wasn't expensive at all.The prices are really good.Everyone of my roaches were alive.That is very rare.By far my favorite pet store and well worth the ride from Germantown.

Jay is very helpful and knowledgeable. You can see the passion he has for what he does. My boyfriend and I ended up getting a baby cherry head tortoise. We were actually traveling to Ohio, he made sure our little guy had everything it needed to make the journey. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely be visiting again!

Jay went above & beyond for my family. It was soon to be my daughter’s birthday & I asked him to hold onto a baby cornsnake for us & he politely did so. He was very informative & helpful. You can tell he generally cares about the animals.When our snake wouldnt eat, he told us to bring the snake in to see what he could do. It didnt eat for him but we got the advice we’ve been looking for because when we got back home & followed his directions, our baby finally ate. We had never heard the advice that he gave us from anyone, anywhere before.Thanks again, Jay. We appreciate it.I recommend this shop to all reptile lovers.

Great pet store here in the city of Philadelphia. Jay is very knowledgeable about many different exotic animals. Mostly all animals are captive bred from his own home so he knows exactly how each animal normally behaves. Stop by to see for yourselves!

Not good business people at all!!! Told me 350 to buy a cherry red beardie, was supposed to of called me back, never did and when they finally did, they increased the price to 600, which was not apart of the deal, and they also get to attached to their product, and never wanna sell their pets for a long time. I wouldn't recommend nobody shop here!! They don't have many selections to pick from
