Someone I know bought a 40 pack of provolone cheese and half of it was moldy. Do NOT trust the best by dates. If you want good and fresh cheese, go to Walmart

3 years later still living here & loving this giant eagle. I always get my water jugs refilled here.Always clean, usually has good sales & i very much appreciate that they have a water jug refill machine. Cashiers have always been friendly & helpful. They have a good variety & selection & the store is well organized .

Really need to update the self checkouts. they constantly act up. First put item in checkout area, then remove item..blah blah blah...every person in front of me and there were alot of them had one or multiple issues while attempting to checkout

I have been coming to this Giant Eagle location (North Versailles) for some time. The other day I was in the store in self checkout. I scanned and checked out my initial order. An employee also had to come over and assist with checkout. Everything went through , I paid for my items. Then remembered I forgot something. I took my paid for items and placed them on the floor because you can not proceed with another order until the items are removed. I scanned my couple items, paid for it and completed my order. Before I could even walk away from self checkout, an employee approached me stating that I only purchased a couple items but I have several bags. I proceeded to show that yes I did purchase these items just now. But his question was not about those items but my first order. In front of other patrons, he felt he needed to check my bags and my receipts because he felt I was stealing. Meanwhile, he was the one who assisted me with my first order. No one else was checked or watched. After he saw that I had my receipts for both orders, he didn't even apologize for accusing me of stealing.I very much feel this was racially motivated. I went to the service desk to make a complaint. The employee decided to lift her head from her cell phone long enough to acknowledge my presence. I explained what happened and wanted to speak to a manager. She stated that the only person that was over there that would have done that WAS the manager. I was then looked a with a blank stare and I realized I would get no assistance with what had been done to me and my two children. We were embarrassed and angry at the wrong that had just been done, and no one there cared! I called once I left and speak to someone named Jerry, who stated there isn't a manager there. Now, I've also been lied to as well.Never again, will I step foot in an establishment that would target a family and no one there cared that it happened. It is unfortunate that in 2023 this is the nonsense that continues.

Where do I start?Their prices are crazy. It is also rather obnoxious to deal with door to door salesperson types when I'm just trying to buy my groceries. Did the CEO not make enough of a bonus gouging people that he decided to allow 3rd party sales people in their stores to make a commission from?The employees are great and very friendly but when I get many items for half the price at aldi I'll deal with the hassle of bagging my own things (which I do most of the time anyway at giant eagle).I only go to giant eagle if I need something specific that aldi doesn't have and I don't feel like driving down to and dealing with Walmart.Giant Eagle is large enough to command decent prices from their suppliers. Shame on them for their price gouging.I realize inflation and all but when I can find the same elsewhere for nearly half the price that's rather ridiculous.

Nothing wrong with the employees at this location. But as a company and grocery store, Giant Eagle is horrible. Come to expect better based on competitors I've often gone to (Kroger, Publix, Wegmans).

A larger store with ACE Hardware inside. I'm not a fan of these stores in stores. They do have dry cleaning, which is very helpful.The cashier I had did not know their gift card policy, which left me needing to work with management to resolve my issues. Their fruit/vegetable selection is good. At times, their meats are not fresh, causing us to have to toss it. I know it can be returned, but that is not always timely for our family. Their staff is very helpful.

Plenty of fresh produce, not to mention... a wide variety. No Boar's Head deli meats...oh well, Dietz and Watson is comparable. Well staffed Pharmacy.

This location is normally pretty well stocked and neatly arranged. Their bakery isn't as good as it used to be, however. Overall it's normally clean & most of the workers are courteous. Feb. 2023 update: Still a disappointing bakery department. Hot foods department was shabby as well. The store itself stays pretty well stocked & their produce is normally very nice and they have a wide variety. I like it that this store keeps multiple registers open, + they have self-checkout so there's normally no big wait time.

This is a very small Giant Eagle, out of my neighborhood. I couldn’t for the life of me find chili mix packets and happened to ask a few people behind a meat service counter where it was. A very nice female actually walked me to where it was tucked away. I thanked her profusely. She shared with me that she suffered a traumatic brain injury about one year ago, and she’d been back to work for about six months since the injury had happened. I really appreciated that she shared that: not everyone would be so brave as to share that. It took courage and forthrightness to be able to share that. I thanked her for sharing, and I wished her well in the future. God bless that person!!! Thanks to her manager/s for keeping her there: she’s an asset to that GE location!!!

Everything was ok and employees are great but inflation has raised prices to the point that now I'm going to have to start shopping at other stores as well... pick and choose the best prices at each store

It took me a few minutes of looking up and down the HBA aisles and then asking an employee if they sell after-shower powder. It wasn't until we were told that due to the huge lawsuit going on, it was taken off the shelves. I think there should be a sign informing the customers.

I like this location because its convenient for me. They don't have as good of a selection as the bigger stores but they always keep it stocked with essentials. Never had a bad experience with any of the employee's, customer service office workers have always been helpful. My only reason for 4 stars was because.. in the seafood counter, the tag clearly reads wild caught Salmon from Chile but, the package clearly states "farm raised previously frozen". That matters to most seafood eaters. Please correct this.

Horrible experience. The old purplish haired lady follows me around and has 2-3 other employees do the same. I've never stole or been caught caught stealing from there. I get all my medications from there. I will not even grocery shop there. The one day I walked around as they followed... then went back to the pharmacy. Once I got my prescriptions I called to the lady and said 'hey I'm leaving now so u don't have to follow me anymore ' she said 'ok Randy' how would she know my name without the pharmacy giving her it?

The pharmacy employees are always polite. The Deli employees are not!!! Store is small with not much of a selection,hit and miss. If you live close it's convenient but I would not drive far to go here. Cashier's are young,not friendly and very slow. Lines are usually long even at self checkout. Do NOT go here if you are in a hurry!!

Purchased a half a BBQ chicken. It had a piece of stretchy thick string in it. I think it's what is used to hold the chicken legs together and it was cut in half. Need to be careful leaving this in the chicken especially if feeding it to smaller kids. This is something that they can choke on very easily.Very clean place. Used the self serve so in and out. Prices up on everything, I guess that is the same all over. Staff always helpful and very nice. Reduced bake goods price is reasonable and worth a look at. One way to save some pennies.

Went to pick up a prescription. Waited in thr drivethru for 15 mins behind another car, then finally get to the window and see about 5 ppl working the pharmacy, all of them ignoring the drive thru. Saw me there and ignored me. Waited on every customer inside instead so I eventually drove off. Worst pharmacy. They are always rude. I will be switching pharmacies.

I called today about my prescriptions being filled at this new location for I have just moved to the area. Laura answered my call and rushed me the whole time I was trying to explain to her why I was calling. So I had to keep repeating myself because she wasn’t listening. Gave me attitude for about the first 5 minutes of the call and then again at the end for whatever reason. I’m definitely not having my prescription transferred to this location after this encounter. I do not want to have to deal with someone who is going to make my mental health worse when I am there to get something to help it. Laura needs training in how to be a decent human let alone customer service.

Deli? What deli? Try to get a FRESH 8-piece chicken at 5pm, virtually any day of the week a day there is none to be had. If you find some, check the time. Often outdated (past their window).

Not my first choice of giant eagles in the area. Lil strip mall it's located in is beyond dead. Very limited options and produce was lacking

The manager David was a true blessing. The car battery died he held our $30 worth of chobani even checked on us to make sure we were in good spirits. Great place with a wonderful manager. Thanks again David.

Store was clean, orderly, and well stocked. The sales associate was pleasant and kind. I like their set up to accommodate social distancing at the register. Everyone was protected but not made to feel alienated or awkward.

Small community store. They carry a large selection of items despite it being a small store. Employees are friendly. My favorite part of this store is the fact that you NOT expected to be your own cashier. They do offer self-checkout but they also employ enough cashiers that you have a choice.

Had horrible experience at the pharmacy. Not only don't they answer the phone but they claim they don't have time to answer...only time for customers who come in the store. I drove 20 mins to North Versailles while on hold because my mom couldn't get anyone on the phone and she was unable to drive. One employee argued with me asking when they were supposed to answer the phone. I just needed one simple question answered. A minimum qualification for pharmacy workers should be service to customers regardless of how they are trying to interact with the store as well as emapthy/compassion. They demonstrated none of that and no one apologized. I think they forget that customers have a choice of where to do business.
