Came here to see Shadow and bandit. The volunteers here are very helpful and professional. All the kennels were clean and the dogs looks very happy. Right before Christmas We wound up taking bandit and we are both very happy. We did so . Such a good dog. We will come back when bandit needs a partner in crime

The people here are so nice and good with all the dogs they take in. The people that take these dog's in the beginning and let the dogs wind up here don't deserve to have the dog's to begin with. These animals deserve a good home with good people taking care of them. Both of these dog's came from Char-Will Kennels

Wonderful Place for Boarding, grooming, and Dod/puppy adoption,etc..We have been going to Char-Will Kennels for 25 plus yrs,I can't say enough great & positive words about this business.We purchased GSD/ PUPPIES , and family and friends did also.All with gratitude.We have used the boarding well back into the late 90s. And are still, as of last weekend, we are still continuing to do so.I (we) know our fur family members are well loved and taken care of by well trained & caring staff.I highly recommend the dog grooming service at Char-will Kennels.From my smallest, a Maltese to my largest, a long-haired GSD. All my fur kids are show stoppers when finished by Jolie,a Amazing Professional Dog groomer!!Thanks for all these amazing services, Char-will Kennels.

I had a wonderful experience adopting Nori (Lenore) from Char-Will. They are thorough with the adoption process and background checks. They made certain that I got the best puppy to fit into my home and my 9 year old beagle. I strongly recommend Char-Will and To Love A Canine Rescue to anyone looking for proper dog adoption.

This kennel is a godsend for dogs who struggle with reactivity or are otherwise "not easy".My large, energetic, boisterous dogs always come home healthy, happy and exhausted.We were encouraged to visit the facility with our trainer many times prior to boarding our dogs for the first time to get them comfortable with the property and environment. The owner and every staff member we interacted with have been great with interacting and handling our overly friendly Malamute x Saint Bernard and fear reactive German Shepherd. It's obvious that they are confident in handling the dogs and they all truly care about the animals and the work they do.They double check the paperwork and make sure they understand concerns with the dogs, if they can or can't have playdates, feeding and meds schedules, how to handle the individual dog, etc. each time we dropped them off. Despite the staff being busy- the property is home to a boarding kennel, groomer, GSD rescue, and training facility- communication is wonderful. Someone is almost always on site, even late evenings. Calls are almost always answered. The rare times I've had to leave a voicemail, my calls had been returned promptly. The facility is very clean and orderly.We looked at several boarding facilities before chosing Char-Wills and the others were all afraid of my fear reactive dog. One even refused to board her unless we got sedatives from our vet. I have put way too much effort into helping our rescue GSD learn how to dog properly and heal from whatever she went through before she came to us to just drug her and force her into a kennel! Char-Will understood and respected that. The owner and staff at Char-Wills took our concerns and her list of issues in stride and said that it wouldn't be an issue. They have tons of experience, tools, and handling methods to use for the safety of the staff and difficult/ fearful dogs.We absolutely love and appreciate the staff and facilities at Char-Will and will be taking our dogs there any time we need a kennel in the future.

Just adopted Scarlett today. Absolutely the nicest people you can adopt from. I thought the one lady was gonna cry when we took her! You can tell theyre there to actually care for these dogs and not just trying to turn a profit like some other shelters.

Adopted a wonderful guy. Their adoption criteria is what it needs to be for the breed. Shepherds are not purse dogs and I respect that Char-Wills has impeccable standards with the dogs they are appointing out. My boy needed some guidance and a little bitta work, but the with the reference from Char-Wills he's getting all the help he needs to be the best dog I know he can be. I would and have referred Char-Wills to anyone who has experience with the breed and would love a new addition to their home.

Not the place to send your dog if they can jump. My dog had escaped within 3 hours of being here. He jumped over a fence and was lost for 10 days. Luckily a very sweet couple who lived about a mile away were able to catch him with a trap (provided by the kennel) within a day. I had hopes that the kennel would offer him with grooming considering he was covered in ticks but that didn’t happen. Very disappointed but happy that he is home now.

Very nice and educated worker's. Had the pleasure to meet and speak with Diane's mother. Was interested with doing a meet and greet with Tessa and the staff was honest about the knowledge of her. We adopted two wonderful dogs from Char Wills....Comet and Chance. Diane and her staff are exceptional people. They are very knowledgeable and take the time to make sure you are comfortable with your new pup.There is no other place that we would go to adopt!Thank you for everything!!Since original post we have adopted two more shepherds from here.

Have previously boarded my dogs there. Excellent care and stimulation! Not just stuck in a kennel.This is also the location for German Shepherd Rescue. Currently on my 4th rescue and am looking for the next one to add to the family. Excellent meet and greet areas, play areas, and room for short or long walks for a chance to become acquainted with the dogs and for them to meet you and your family, including other pets. These folks are great at assessing the dogs, helping to find a good fit for the family and guiding some of the less social or neglect/abuse cases to become socialized and more acclimated and prepared for their forever homes. There is also an excellent training building and classes are available. Very dedicated folks!! WORTH THE TRIP even if you're not quite ready to adopt!

Inexpensive place to hold your dog for any hours. They supply wet and dry food if you want. They get indoor and outdoor time. You can choose if you want your dog to be with other dogs. Groomer is available if you choose to use them.

We adopted our Oona there and she is the best. They made sure she was up to date on all of her shots before we picked her up. I like the way they have a large space for you to play with the dogs while your getting to know them and they do background checks on every person before they allow you to adopt. We have always gotten a quick response from them when we have any questions and we have friends who have also adopted from there. Great place!

This place is a joke. Dianne, when she answered the phone, was very rude. I called because they were recommended for a situation I was facing by another company that took over 15 min trying to help me. When i tried to explain the situation, (my 1yr old shepard/husky mix bit someone) i was very rudly told, "we dont take mixes or dogs that have bitten someone". Fine. I can respect that, but when i went to ask for guidance so as not to have to put a 1yr old dog down, she hung up without so much as an im sorry or hearing the situation out. Seems like she could care less. I normally wouldnt care, but i was in the middle of speaking when she hung up. And I know it wasnt an accident because she coulda called back and said sorry we got disconnected. Im fighting to save my dogs life and get guidance from "professionals". Im running out of options for my dog and all i needed was someone to point me in a direction to help save his life. So sad that a woman who deals with animals couldnt take the time to listen to someone fighting to save his dog. Smh. Disgusting!

They are very nice, knowledgeable and accommodating to your needs but most importantly to the needs of the dogs that are up for adoption. We went there looking for a smaller female German Shepherd. We were able to take 3 dogs for a long walk and sit on bench to see how each dog reacted to us and in about 2 hours we were on our way home with our new dog.

Adopted a sweetheart of a girl, Lexie, from Char-Will. You can tell these dogs are well cared for and that the rescue has the dog's best interest in mind in everything they do. We had a great experience and there were no surprises. Lexie has been through some tough challenges but is adapting well to her new home . I know I can call the staff at char-will at any time should questions or concerns arise. Highly recommend!
