I pass this business on my way to work everyday. When the upholstery on my couch required repair, I was excited to get a quote from a local business. Regrettably, my experience did not align with the professionalism I expected from a business owner. Upon reaching out for a quote through the designated channels, I was met with a response stating that the business owner was “not interested” in providing a quote for the service in question. This unexpected and somewhat dismissive/angry response left me disappointed. As a potential customer, I value transparency, communication, and professionalism. Unfortunately, the response I received does not reflect these qualities. I believe that a business of this caliber, as claimed by the website, should strive to engage with potential clients in a more constructive manner. While I understand that not every project may align with your business priorities, a more nuanced and customer-oriented approach would be appreciated. The website lists upholstery repair as one of the services provided. If there are specific reasons behind the decision not to provide a quote for my request, I would welcome an explanation to better understand the circumstances. Customer service plays a pivotal role in establishing a positive reputation in the community and fostering trust with clients. I would not recommend this business on the basis that the owner is extremely unpleasant to work with and clearly is not focused on delivering proper customer service. The owner obviously has not taken constructive feedback from the other reviews similar to mine to improve potential customer relations. Do not waste your time.

Had the bucket seats rebuilt and covered in leather for my 69 AMX. Alex is a great guy and his work is outstanding. He keeps you informed and he gave me the idea of the red on the black leather.

Alex does excellent work! The craftsmanship and attention to detail shows the quality you get when you work with him. He had the work done in the quoted time, fabrics are very high quality, and the padding is perfect. I love that he accepts diverse pieces and plan on returning with other items, as well.Pictures posted of cradle and glider/foot rest.

We had a 10 dining room chairs, an antique wing chair, and a leather club chair with ottoman. We worked with Alex to reupholster all pieces. For the chairs, we obtained Harris Tweed wool and Alex professionally restored our wing chair and dining chairs, improving and repairing even the cushions and strapping. Alex worked with us to get Italian leather, and restored the club chair and ottoman. Alex worked with us to pick-up and deliver furniture, did excellent quality work, and completed the projects in a reasonable time. I would definitely use Alex again in the future.

Contacted this unseemly curmudgeon about upholsetring a couch and chair. His reply was terse and grumpy and was a grand reflection on his lacadasicadel attitude and demeanor. How do you turn away work for a business you say you do?Plus, he has many grammatical and spelling errors on his site. If he can't put any effort into his image, both in person, and on the web, which costs nothing, his actual work probably reflects that horrible attitude as well.Definately yet another black mark on the already miserable economy and people of miserablly deminshing town of Myerstown PA.

Alex is a master at his craft. He has reupholstered a goose neck chair that I put in my bedroom. It is a lovely piece, and I would recommend anyone to his shop. His shop is very clean and the one on one consultations about your projects will ensure every little detail comes out perfectly.

I had a motorcycle seat reupholstered by Alex Upholstery. They did a beautiful job at a great price. He explained to me what he would be using, from the 4 way stretch vinyl especially for motorcycles and boats, to the stainless steel staples to prevent rusting. This reclining chair has become the most coveted spot in our family living room. This used to be a worn leather chair, and now is a soft comfortable recliner my husband loves to fall asleep in. Alex gave great advice on what kind of fabric to select. This particular fabric is exactly what I was looking for. It is modern, soft and easy to clean as well. I am extremely happy with this professional work!

Never had a owner of a business say “sorry not interested” to a request to perform the work they do for a living. Listen , I get if your are too busy, or don’t like the leather in a Chevy or something. When you website says “ we repair auto upholstery, click here for quote and I as a customer, take the time to fill out the form, attach photos of the 1” tear and submit them to you. You think you would have more of a professional response to why you can’t do the work. There are other shops I can go to and I’m not angry that they didn’t do it but, I am mind blown to their response. I would never recommend this place just on that email alone.
