I took my sick rabbit here 2 days ago, and though unfortunately he didn't make it, I truly believe Dr Tyler did everything he could to try and save him. The staff were very friendly and very helpful and knowledgeable I would recommend them to any pet owner especially for small mammals who can be hard to find a vet for.Thank you Dr Tyler for everything.

Had an incident on Sunday called Monday morning and they worked my Honey into the schedule. Dr Judy was very nice and explained everything to me. They gave a great description on why they didn't do a procedure to remove her nail. The techs were awesome in handling Honey.

We love taking our bunny here when she is not feeling well. They have such a gentle way with our bunny.Update they prescribed our bunny medicine and she died less then a week later.

Awesome vets and great care but you need to have Saturday hours like 8am til 12 or 12:30. Most other vets in the area have short hours on Saturdays.

I am absolutely impressed with the quality of care you receive here other than going to Banfield. Thank goodness I found this place. Northern Pike Veterinary Hospital gives you the absolute best care for your pet, and it's worth every penny!!!! A+++++

Honestly hate to give this review but don’t want other exotic pets to be misdiagnosed.I brought my ferret in about a year ago for hair loss and itchiness in hopes to get treated. After a physical exam it was concluded that my ferret had adrenal disease, with likely not much time left. I asked what testing was done and no lab work imaging was performed to confirm. In addition there was no treatment options available at the clinic.From previous experience with a ferret with adrenal, I knew it could be treated with lupron and or an implant to assist with the hormone management. At the end of the day I really did not think my boy had adrenal as his hair loss was not consistent with the disease.I brought him to dr.wagner out of north Boro, and it was quickly confirmed from a skin cell scrape he had a bacterial skin infection. He was treated with medicated baths once a week for 3 weeks, and it healed completely.It concerns me greatly that a near terminal disease was diagnosed with minimal testing, even before anything other infections / parasites could have been ruled out. I would not recommend bringing an exotic, or ferret here.

From beginning to end a great experience! The team at check in SUPER professional nice and supportive. Dr Bill and the techs WOW! Our visit left us informed and confident we can help our dog through his illness. We didn’t want to go to the veterinary hospital but we are so glad we did and that we were fortunate to meet such great caring people.

Never have I dealt with such ignorant & rude people in my life. The owner of the building told me she wouldn’t see my dog because he barked when she came into the room as she approached me without saying a word while I’m sitting in a corner behind my dog. She instantly got defensive with me as I told her she should’ve known not to approach anyone like that, she refused to see my dog even though he was bleeding out of his paw right in front of her eyes. I’ll never bring my pets here again at all

If you have a reptile I would recommend going elsewhere. They charged me 100 dollars for an unnecessary xray and have no clue why my reptile isn't eating ....

Went here for several years. Some of the vets were pleasant and seemingly competent but follow up is lacking. Office procedures are deplorable. Phones go to voice mail, which isn't checked. Customers aren't allowed inside long after the pandemic was over and are left sitting in the parking lot since they aren't allowed inside. Vets did different procedures than what we came for and charged more with no communication beforehand. Vets said they'd call with test results and never did. Emails were ignored. Prices seem higher than similar vets in the area. Really not worth the trouble.

I can’t say enough on how great this place is. I found them by accident because I accidentally turned into their parking lot instead of avets . But I’m glad I did their prices are much more fair. I frantically came in with my dog after finding blood all over my floor from her. They tried their best and worked without what I could afford . The vet explained in full detail everything that was going on and everything she was going to do. Two days later my other dog had the same emergent symptoms so I rushed him in. And again same exceptional care. I have no doubt they saved both of my fur babies lives. It’s two days later and both dogs are starting to seem back to their normal selves. The vet was spot on with their diagnosis and medicine to treat it. I can’t thank them enough

I've taken my now 7 year old Sheltie to these folks before. All staff is helpful and friendly. This time because of COVID, you're not allowed to go in with your pet. Kind of weird, but I understand, even though I've been vaccinated and use a mask. The vet called me and gave me a detailed description of what he saw. I will continue to use NPVH and trust my pet to them. Highly Recommended.

We have been going to Northern Pike Vegerinary Clinic for many, many years with our pets. They were spectacular. When covid hit, they became a "do not enter" establishment. It is still this way(4 years later). Truly ridiculous. I call to order medications for my elderly dog and end up calling 2 to 3 times to see why it has not been called in to my pharmacy yet. Don't get me wrong, Dr Bill takes good care of my pet, but the everyday dealings with them make it not worth the issues. We are both medical professionals for 20+ years. We are being forced to seek new pet representation with a loving, elderly, seizure prone dog. Totally unfair in our books...

Just was there. My Chinchilla escaped and amazingly lived with a house full of fur babies with only 2 scratches on him. Not sure from animals or squeezing under the stove. Was amazed how the vet got onto the floor and interacted with Baby Oscar, while checking him out. He's now back to his spunky self, pulling the cats and dogs tails through his cage as they walk past him!! He's got the zoomies back too!!

I’ve been going to Northern Pike Vets now for about 10-11 years. Dr Bill added on extra years to my pup Mongo and he and the staff treated him as if he was their own dog! Right now they are all doing the same for my Ellie Mae, I also foster and am very involved for Bridge to Home Animal Rescue and anytime an adopter is from the East area of Pittsburgh adopting a pup I suggest this practice. I truly do not know what I would do without Dr Bill and his staff. I am forever grateful for their caring and kindness!

We have been patients for several years, both with our previous dog and current dog. Every time, care has been excellent!Just this week our pup had to stay in the hospital for a few days. Dr. Angie and the entire staff, from the minute we called until the minute we brought our dog home, the care was beyond exceptional!! The care and concern for both your pet and the family are amazing.

Used to love this practice. But now the only thing ruining it is Dr Martin. She’s terribly scatterbrained and will tell you one thing over the phone and then the complete opposite in the same conversation. I’ve heard that she over charges her patient and after seeing the itemized bill for my dogs teeth cleaning I definitely believe it. I normally go to Dr Bill (who is an absolute Angel). But he was out. I stopped going to Dr Martin a few years ago because she was becoming rude and belittling. The rest of the staff are so kind and wonderful, and I’m sorry that they have to work with her. I’m worried that she keeps her staff hostage late into the evening, as my dog didn’t get discharged until almost 9 pm. I dropped him off at 9:30am that morning. Honestly things need to change there. But I will be finding a new vet.

Vet and techs are amazing here. We’ve been going for years and have seen eight of our dogs over the years. We have had to put many of them down with the help of the staff who not only allowed us all the time we needed to grieve after but at times has even laid on the floor with us as we hold our pets. I can’t say enough about the greatness of some of the people that had made up the staff over the last decade plus. Thank you all.

I've been going to this vet for nearly 20 years and the last two years have been the absolute worst. I understand that I can't come in with my pet, that is fine. But please at least talk to me face to face. The phone thing isn't working because you won't address all of my concerns. My cat had major surgery and I was there for a follow-up and I did not feel satisfied with any of the information I was given, let alone the fact that there were multiple times I was told I couldn't be heard because of the poor cell service you have.

Used to be pleased when I came here but after Covid and not letting people in here we are 3 years later and I’m still not allowed in with my pet. I have since taken my senior dog somewhere else where I can go inside. As for my 4 year old due for shots today and has been scratching at his ear my appointment cost is $95! Considered a sick visit! He has an itchy ear. This will be my last time here as it will cost me double for this visit than my new vet with my senior dog!

My appointment had been set up for 10/11. I was to be there between 8 and 9am. When I got into the building they said they had no record of an appointment. They told me I could wait until 9am and if someone didn't show up they would take my dog. Everyone they had on there list showed up. So, now I have no appointment. I'm to see if there are cancellations and they will take her. Otherwise I have to wait until 11/1 to make an appointment. Not very happy with this happening. Even repeated the appointment date and time back to the girl to make sure I had it correct.

Northern Pike Veterinary Hospital is one of the best clinics I have ever gone to as a pet owner. Dr. Martin and Dr. Tyler are not only skilled, but are genuinely kind and interesting people to talk to -- they have been my vets since I moved to the area years ago, and were one of the few that not only were comfortable seeing my pet rats but also treated these little creatures with the respect they deserve, be it removing a tumor or treating an upper respiratory issue (both common issues in pet rats). They have gone above and beyond, even taking them home to monitor over the weekend when my rats needed some extra care after surgery. I can't recommend them enough if you are looking for a vet in the area.

Dr. Martin and the staff are fantastic. My 12 year old beagle developed an oral mass. I called to schedule an appointment on a Monday for the following Monday. Dr. Martin called me back & I was able to secure a same day appointment. Dr. Martin went above and beyond as she also offered to remove the mass on the same day. Dr. Martin was friendly, down to earth, and compassionate. She is a blessing to me and my family & her services were greatly appreciated.

Fantastic staff who really care! They were able to accommodate us when we weren't sure if we had an emergency on our hands or whether it was just a checkup. Our vet at the time had no openings for a month but Northern Pike was able to fit us in within 48 hours. Turns out had we waited, we would have lost our little girl. VERY appreciative of everything they've done for both of our kids and we will now be switching over to them permanently.

They are all so kind each time I have gone. I had to put my Chow-Chow down way to Young and the owner was there and helped me thru it and even took her home with herself to take care her and watch over her for a couple days. Thanks!

Love this place!! Veterinarians are so helpful and treat your pet like one of their own. Not too many bunny dr's out there willing to take as patients. This place was the best, kept my bunny over night and cared for him until he was ready to come home.

Dr. Haggerty has been caring for our dogs for over 12 years. She's everything we'd ever want from a doctor. Extremely intelligent, always patient and willing to take her time and share her knowledge at every visit too. She's calm, kind and loving toward our pets. We can definitely tell that she loves what she does and we are blessed to have her as our veterinarian!
