Wanted lunch meat and cheese. Stood there for 5 minutes. One girl looked at me twice never told the other three people working there. Another girl looked at me and walked away. The other two never quit talking to even check on the counter to see if anyone was standing there. Very poor customer service. Never did get my lunch meat and cheese. Produce section very poor selection. Will not go back

Going down hill really fast. My family bought a cake for my 50th birthday from Walt's and let me start by saying I have made better in an Easy Bake Oven when I was 5. It was the worst cake ever and embarrassing to serve to others in my family. We have tried to contact Walt about the situation but nobody has answered a phone or responded in a week and half. Every sandwich we have gotten from the deli has been dry and I mean so dry you chock. Walt's has been a family name for my family my whole life and it's a shame I have to write this review!!!

I so much love going into Walt's! I would much rather support a small business in the community than a chain grocery store. They run some good sales on items too!

It's sorta tough to review a grocery store. Unless there is some egregious issue that is glaringly horrible, like rats or spilled food everywhere, what can you really say. Ahhh, they have food for sale. And drinks. In all honesty, it's a typical store that really has no great aspects or poor. I would recommend it, but only if it's convenient. I wouldn't travel 45 minutes for a gallon of milk

Good place to shop pricing is good and their specials can be a real bargain. The staff is friendly and polite. The store itself is acceptably clean. Weekly specials are always a great deal. Love to fill our pantry with them. John really does a great job on finding deals for his customers.

So surprised prices are great! We were passing by and decided to stop. We needed a couple of items we bought more than that. We left happy because of the prices. Now we know where to stop coming into this area. We are from Northeastern Pa. 👍👍👍👍

This is the only grocery store in Mercer, PA. They are overpriced on almost everything, but they are local. Honestly, though, I've driven 20 minutes out of the way and spent less on merchandise, including the extra gas I had to pay. You are definitely paying for convenience when you shop here. Just make sure you check the expiration dates on whatever you're purchasing.

Walt's provided catering items from the deli for our son's graduation party (chicken tenders, potato salad, pasta salad, fruit tray and veggie tray). Everything was excellent! Thanks!

Love this hometown store. It is so nice shopping where you are actually treated like old friends, from the deli where the ladies greet you with a smile, to the homemade bakery products, to the checkout where an actual check out person, AND BAGGER to carry out your groceries finishes up your experience. I shop here because I never want this store, and it's non super store atmosphere to close...

walts is using lab engineered chicken. all 3 packs of chicken tenderloins that were purchased for tonights dinner was completely unusable. every single piece fell apart in strings.

John has a wonderfully curated grocery store for such a small town! This place is always clean, well lit and the people are friendly. Love Walt's #51 sweet Italian sausage!!! Update: The store has been changed - making it more open and adding more shelf space. It is even better!

I know that there's been a lot of mixed reviews about this but to say anything negative wouldn't be a good idea because it would hurt the reputation for the people who work there. Yes, the price of some of the stuff could be lower, but then again, I've seen other places where the price for the exact same product was a LOT higher. Just ask any restaurant, they'll verify that part for you.

Absolutely terrible. Price gouging during a pandemic. Prices are terribly high. Employees are rude. Bad customer service. I waited 10 minutes at the customer service desk while 2 employees looked right at me and were too busy talking to do their jobs. Check out lines are slow. You're much better off going to County market in grove city.

The store has way too high of prices, the staff is friendly, but there are some that are very very rude. There isnt a big selection of produce, don’t offer enough low sodium items or fat free. I also bought hamburger there today, and I made it for my dinner, and it was spoiled!! I smelled it before I cooked it, and it smelled fine. I cooked it all the way through and it smelled and tasted sour. Don’t go here. Horrible place to shop.

I had Walts do the catering trays for a luncheon last week. We ordered meat and cheese trays, vegetable tray, fruit trays, cookies, rolls, cake, potato salad and cole slaw. They did an outstanding job on all of this! Everything was delicious and received lots of compliments on them.

Very good deli, bakery, and meat sections. Prices are fair in those departments. Typically sales available on lots of items. Once they stayed using the IGA brand, which is pretty good, it became more affordable for local folks. I still go to Aldi for most of my groceries though.A major annoyance for me is they have a bunch of registers but sometimes only one open. I was there the other night and ended up leaving after five minutes in line.

There's no other grocery store in Mercer so sometimes I just HAVE to go here. I'd say it's pretty equal between the number of nice vs. the number of rude employees. There's also usually only 2 lanes open so when it's busy you're going to be waiting. I also find their prices to be a little on the costly side so I try to avoid it unless I absolutely need something that I can't drive to Grove City for.

A really tacky single cashier there I could offer some words to. Owner is awesome, and most staffers are as well. I like Freddie, Young Paul, Old Paul and Angie in the bakery the best. I dont care for some of the prices there, but catch a good sale and your good!
