This is a great company to do business with. When Ray, the owner, promises you when the job will be completed, you can take his word to the bank! In fact, our shower remodel was completed almost a week earlier than promised. Ray’s employees, Julie, Andy, Heath, and Curt are the best. They are all very professional, pleasant, and hard working. Andy, the tile man, was just fantastic! He is very meticulous and precise, and will do whatever it takes to please the customer. As a real estate agent, my clients have worked with tons of contractors (some I referred and some my clients knew personally). Nelson Kitchen & Bath recently designed and finished a complete renovation of our kitchen and master bathroom and both look amazing while also being very functional. We previously worked with Ray to renovate the kitchen in our prior home and they did a great job then, so using him again on our recently purchased home was an easy decision. That said, even with our prior positive experience, Ray, his designer and his highly-skilled installation team far-exceeded our already high expectations with our most recent renovation. We have found Ray to be easy to work with and is a genuinely good person. In addition, his team of workers are very respectful, timely and always left the property clean and organized. We hired Nelson Kitchen and Bath to design and construct a significant multi-floor renovation at our home, including kitchen, dining, living, family room, powder room, office, master bedroom, bathroom and closet as well as hall bathroom and basement powder room. Owner Ray Nelson and Interior Designer Julie Kramer guided us through the design process - always listening to our preferences and respectfully offering advice. The project began on time and exactly as scheduled. The construction crew was professional and efficient. The work continued on schedule until suspended by the Governor's order related to the pandemic. When work was permitted to resume, Ray's team did so quickly and safely. We communicated continuously throughout the process. Most importantly, we recognize Nelson Kitchen and Bath as a company of the utmost integrity. Construction is complex. There were a few times during the project that either the results were not satisfactory or we initiated a construction change. In those moments, Ray worked with us to resolve the conditions to our satisfaction. Ultimately, the project was completed on budget and in accordance with our adjusted schedule. The end result is phenomenal and we truly feel like this is now our home to enjoy for years to come. It's been a little over 1.5 months we have been living with our new master bath and we love every detail about it. Everything from the functional design, through the quality of materials to the craftsmanship exercised by all of Ray's crews!Our experience from design through construction was outstanding. Our project was a total tear out and rebuild and everything could not have gone smoother. Julie, our designer, listened carefully to our thoughts and brought our vague ideas to life, providing infinite value screening through the myriad of choices to recommend a series of options aligned to our preferences. We chose Nelson Kitchen and Bath after researching and reading reviews of many local contractors in the area. We knew that it had to be a quality operation from customer recommendations, however we had no idea the quality and care we would receive during our project. When we first met Ray Nelson, it was clear that he ran a professional, well organized business. He listened carefully to our plan and provided a free basic estimate after coming to our house. His patience to our questions and professionalism far exceeded any other contractor we talked to.After providing the down payment for detailed drawings (which went toward the cost of our renovation) our project started moving along very quickly. Ray explained every step in the process very thoroughly and was always available – by phone, email and in person. He provided a cell phone number and answered any time of any day. Ray has an extensive network of local businesses for supplies and building materials. When choosing products, he personally met us at the showrooms and helped guide us in our choices. It was helpful to actually see the products - such as fixtures, tile, flooring and lighting – rather than choose from a magazine or online program. He allowed us to make our own decisions yet provided support when needed.The entire team at Nelson Kitchen and Bath was outstanding. They worked together and worked flawlessly as a team. The project was rather large and on a tight timeline. They were focused, efficient and remained on schedule. We added several unplanned projects as the project progressed such as recessed lighting and door knobs (a lot of doorknobs…). They always were professional and were able to accommodate us and not compromise their time frame to start the next job.There were never any surprises of any type. Payments were requested on a “percentage of completion” schedule. This provided a sense of security as we could see the progression and high quality of their work. Ray was upfront with all costs and stayed within the predetermined budget.The quality of the work provided far exceeded our expectations. Our project included complete demolition and remodeling of the kitchen and master bath as well as recessed lighting and drywall repairs throughout the entire house and updating of outdated fixtures. The team also had to coordinate with our painter and flooring company which was done with ease. Seeing the renovation move through concept to completion was an amazing experience. The work was concise and organized. Ray Nelson and his team were extremely trustworthy and respectful at all times. We highly recommend this top notch company and will not hesitate to choose them again for future projects.

Highly Recommended. I normally don't write reviews, but we had such a fantastic experience that I had to make an exception for Ray. We contacted Ray Nelson for some design advice and materials after my husband and I had begun the process of gutting our bathroom down to the studs. He was very friendly and professional and worked with us, helping us figure out exactly what we wanted and ordering everything we needed at very reasonable prices, from the tile to the tub and fixtures. When we finally admitted to ourselves that we bit off more than we could chew, we contacted Ray again and he put us in touch with a fantastic tiler who was courteous, hardworking and quick to boot, getting to work on our shower and backsplash wall and finishing them in two to three days. Our new bathroom looks great and we get compliments from everyone who sees it. I highly recommend Nelson Kitchen and Bath to anyone who is thinking of renovating their bathroom or kitchen, whether they plan on doing it on their own or need professional assistance.

Ray Nelson helped us to visualize and then realize a complete flooring upgrade to our first floor. The crew painted the first floor as well for a new house quality look. Everyone involved were top professionals as well as top quality people. We enjoyed working with them and are enjoying the finished project as well. Excellent work!

Ray did a fantastic job for us on our kitchen remodel. I needed lots of guidance in my choices and I feel that Ray really listened to me when I explained what I wanted and needed in this new kitchen. His ideas were spot on. He quoted a price up front and that's what I paid in the end. He gave me a start date and an end date and he stuck to those dates. He kept me informed of what to anticipate each day of the remodel period. The guys who work for him are outstanding. They all took great care to keep the house livable during the remodel. Not only did I get exactly what I wanted but it was an enjoyable experience as well. I highly recommend Nelson Kitchen and Bath.

Job is just finished - wow! What a transformation! Ray did a fantastic design job, and the workmanship was excellent. The cabinets are furniture quality. We also have a one-off, Ray Nelson designed special backsplash that is just stunning. Ray is easy to work with and responsive to calls questions and suggestions. He sticks to the budget too. Would've loved to have work done, but felt judged and uncomfortable. Sales man was very nice to the other couple in the show room, but once they left and we started asking questions, answers were short and uninformative with the deMEANor of being annoyed.Edit: can't respond to reply... It's been awhile, more than a few months. My wife and I recently sold our house and we were looking to get our master bath remodeled prior to listing. We had an idea of what we wanted. We asked about pricing on several materials amongst other things. Answers were short with the added line of "that would be determined when I sit down and design". Instead of being invited to sit down and have a consultation or conversation about our concerns and needs, instead we were stonewalled with every question.
