When entering the front door I was afraid to get a splinter …… it looks like the door hasn’t been painted since 1973! The store had a musty odor..When looking in the back the floors look like they haven’t been mopped for years!The trash flip lids were sticky from old ice cream smears!Now the staff.. we asked if they had anything with coconut and neither one of the two knew they had it. We had to point out to them that they had 2 varieties.Will not be returning!

I used to like this place a lot better but the last few times it has just been kind of meh. I asked for an ice cream sandwich but they were out of cookies. Instead, I ordered a regular ice cream. I received a super small serving of ice cream and there were no signs of moose in my moose tracks ice cream. No moose peanut butter cups or moose peanut butter cup crumbles. No moose fudge. Just a few small flakes of something that may or may not have been moose related but didn't have any flavor.

We had a very nice visit. Great flavors like Pittsburgh Pride and blueberry cheesecake. The guy serving us was also very helpful and friendly. Ice cream tasted great, flavorful but not too heavy. They also had lots of toppings but we didn’t get any. Would highly recommend for ice cream lovers!

The Lemon Rose Water was light & refreshing... The Young Men maning the counter were kind, honest & patient with Me & My Family! Proper Young Guys! Nostalgic atomsphere. Ice Cream was pretty good, choices for everyone. Nice little gem to try after you've had a delicious meal at one of the many restaurants on Washington Rd.

For anyone dairy free or looking for a healthier alternative to ice cream… GET THE BANANA WHIP! It’s just frozen bananas that they run through a magical machine that make it just like a soft serve. Get it with a bit of hot fudge and it is perfect! Never stop selling it!!

Went for vegan ice cream. The door has a Vegan Pittsburgh sticker and inside they have a sign that says ask about our vegan flavors. They also had vegan banana whip on their menu. We waited 15 minutes in line and when we got up to the counter and asked about the vegan options the server said he didn't know what they were. He thought the sorbet was vegan but wasn't sure. There was nothing marked vegan in the case. Then when we asked about the vegan banana whip he said neither he nor the other server there knew how to make it. We left very frustrated and disappointed. Will not be returning.

We've been coming to Betsy's since they opened. Never had a bad experience. Their ice cream is amazing so delicious. They always have so many flavors to choose from and not the usual flavors you find elsewhere. The owner and staff are super friendly. Just a really great place for homemade ice cream. Would give it more stars if I could.

I love Betsy's. They have a lot of hard ice cream flavors and sorbets. They offer sugar-free and vegan options and you can get any flavor as a milkshake. You can get multiple flavors in your order. The staff is always friendly and they also have a loyalty program where you get a free cone or bowl after 8 items. The tables are all chalkboards and have chalk on them to doodle while eating ice cream.

Lovely, quaint, local shop. Sorbet was divine! Several quirky and interesting flavors. Lovely staff. The workers were great with my crew of kiddos! Very friendly and offered several flavor suggestions. The kiddos loved the “Pittsburgh Pride” ice cream or as they named it “Steelers Sunday” haha pay me if you use that Betsys LOl. Curious if they pepperoni rolls are good... will try next time ;)

I just had the best I've cream from this place. They make all the ice cream on site. They have great flavors like spicy chocolate and Elvis (peanut butter and banana, Elvis' favorite sandwich) as well as all of the other common favorites. The people who run it are super nice. I will definitely be coming back. Did I mention they have chalkboard tables!?! Great place for all ages!

We always have great service and ice cream at Betsy’s! Love this local gem. The ice cream is homemade and creative. The Pittsburgh Pride will always be a favorite. And thank you for enforcing masking / required rules during this crazy time. Can’t wait to visit again!

Betsy's serves farm fresh homemade ice cream. Vegan options are also available. Their famous flavor is called "Pittsburgh pride" which is yellow colored ice cream with chocolate pieces inside. Betsy's offers a reward card which can give you a free scoop once filled. They also sell Zeke's coffee in limited varieties. Free behind store parking is available only during limited hours and days. Although portions are small you can tell this is quality ice cream at a very reasonable price. Tables are actually chalkboards for kids to enjoy. Highly recommend!

The service was incredibly slow. It took the woman working seriously forever just to put together one cone and one cup for us. We both ordered cookie dough and there was literally one little piece in both of ours. Such a bummer.

Do not book Betsys Ice Cream Truck. Not reliable. Booked truck for a birthday party-- never showed up. Tried to call and got voicemail. When truck was an hour late we finally got a call from owner offering lame excuses for the no show. Very disappointing as we had 30 adults and several children waiting.

Fresh made ice cream in all kinds of flavors and some awesome special dietary flavors. Out of this world fresh hand-spun vanilla milkshakes are my favorite! Fun for the kids with their chalkboard paint topped tables to draw on with provided chalk! This is a nice quaint little place that fits right into the heart of Mount Lebanon's uptown.

My daughter enjoyed her coffee Heath. The ice cream was creamy, but I wouldn't drive across the city for it. The Irish cream was very weak in flavor. It tasted like a glass of milk that had a splash of Bailey's accidentally fall into the glass. The cookie dough ice cream was nothing to marvel at either. I will give it another try if I find myself dining next door at the Jade Garden.

Fun flavors (lavender raspberry is my favorite!) super nice staff, and as a bonus they call out anti-maskers to keep us all safe! So if you are wondering which businesses require their employees and customers to do their part to save lives during covid, Betsy’s gets an A+ for sure!
