Sue is the best! I have a high anxiety senior that we must hold when he gets his nails done. He's not thrilled about getting his nails done and can show it. Sue is quick and always fits us in. He has never been as good as he is with her. We've even ditched the muzzle. This place is a lifesaver. We will return over and over!

We have been going to Drakes for grooming since 2014. Sue has been the groomer since we have been going there. Just prior to the current owners taking over we took our golden doodle for grooming. Prior to picking her up we received a call from Dee (owner) indicating Sue had groomed the dog and in the process she cut our dogs ear. The cut was serious enough that it required stitches. Dee told us that Sue had a new pair of very sharp scissors and she was not to use them on the dogs. Apparently she used them anyway and cut our dog’s ear so bad she had to have stitches. Dee requested we give them all bills and paid them in full. We continued to use Drakes for our grooming assuming it was an accident. During that time Dee sold the business to the current owners. Yesterday I took our dogs for grooming. They do not like us to bring both our small doodle and large doodle at the same time ( which requires 3 round trips for grooming). I took the big doodle over for grooming & then went back to pick up the big dog and drop of the smaller dog. When I got home with the big dog we saw an area on her back side where she was cut and had been bleeding. When I went back to pick up the small dog I questioned the owner & Sue and they said they did not see anything like that. I told them they couldn’t miss it and it had to bleed and been cleaned up. She continued to deny that she did it or saw it. They said to bring her back and they would put peroxide on it. I told them I could do it myself. They never apologized or took any responsibility for something happened to our dog in their care. We will never go back again for grooming or any other dog needs ( food, harnesses etc)!!

The groomer is so good with my pup. She does her nails quickly, and my dog just loves her. They upped the price by 5 bucks, but hey, such is life.Really nice people though.

I have the sweetest little Min Pin that turns into the Tasmanian Devil when you try to cut her nails. But these people are great! They're very patient. They put her in a sling while I hold her head with work gloves on, and the groomer buzzes through all 20 nails in no time and does a great job. I won't take my little devil anywhere but here!

Absolutely love this place!! Real people with fantastic service. They do amazing haircuts on our dogs Bella and Harley...can be tough to get into to your dog groomed, but when you see the results you will understand why.

We asked them just to trim our goldendoodle’s face and to leave her fluffy. When we went to pick her up, they said they trimmed her shorter than we asked and had us pay prior to seeing our dog. She came out looking nothing like herself at all and looks like a traditional poodle. Her fur is so short and will take months to grow back :(

Our dog is a gentle giant, whopping 80lbs. He is very timid after being attacked by another dog. This groomer made him feel safe and welcome and he came home smelling so nice and fresh after prolonging his bath in fear of how he would react.

They lost a costumer. I’ve been taking my moms dog there for about 2 years and I will never go back. I thought long and hard about writing this review but after the way they treated me I couldn’t let it go. My mom had called to schedule her dog like she normally does. Someone answered and told her she had to look for another groomer because of us leaving a bad review. Which we never did. My mom tried explaining she didn’t but they were adamant that we did. My mom called me upset about it so I called to see what was the issue. They told me the same. They said my last name (Ortiz)matched the bad review someone had left. And that they knew it was me who wrote it. I was in shock. Even after them wrongly accusing us, I kept trying to explain we didn’t. And scheduled another appointment. If we had something negative to say about them why would I want to take my dog back. But after thinking of how wrong they treated us on the phone just because our last name (Ortiz) matched a bad review I decided never to go there again. They were rude and very sarcastic. Never did they call apologizing for the misunderstanding. I wasn’t going to write this review but I think it’s important to hold them accountable for their actions. I ended up taking my moms dog somewhere else where we are welcomed and treated with respect. I would’ve had no problem with them asking me if I put the review so they could get to the bottom of a Unsatisfied customer. But this was not the case they were aggressively adamant that it was us and treated us as if we did it by not allowing us to make an appointment and going back & fourth. All he was worried about was a bad review hurting his business instead of losing a long time customer. I know they are going to read this so let it be a lesson learned for your business don’t go accusing your customers just because the reviewer has the same last name (Ortiz). Now this bad review right here is from me K. Ortiz.

I have an anxious chocolate lab who is quite often very vocal as a result. I’ve been to Drake’s Pet Place for their grooming services twice now. Each time I’ve been to Drake’s, the staff has been very flexible and calm in handling my barky pup and have helped to minimize my worries. They are professional, efficient, and provide clear communication whenever I drop her off and pick her up. I highly recommend Drake’s Pet Place grooming services and plan to return again in the future!

This place is so great! The owner is such a nice guy. I love seeing their German Shepherd when I come. I get all of my dog food and cat food here. I love that they only have grain-free food. And you can get some of the dog foods that you can't find everywhere here. And their prices are really good on the pet food.

Dee and Jerry are great! I have been going to Drake's for years with all of my dogs. Even with sometimes, not the most cooperative dog, they always come out looking great. I buy all of my pet supplies there too. Food, collars, treats, accessories. Prices are always compatible with the big box stores, even less for some items. I would not think of going anywhere else!!Support local Lancaster!!

I’m very dissatisfied with this place. I took my dog to be groomed. The way I was treated was uncalled for and my dog didn’t even look like the same dog. Here is what went wrong - Darlene (that’s the name on my receipt) seemed like she doesn’t even like animals (so why are you there again?), she is very rude to customers and you would think by time you reach her age.. she would master the “art” of listening and communication. I spoke to the owner and he was very nice and apologetic about my horrible 1st experience but you will go out of business with people like that!!

We have been going to Drakes since their location was at Bridgeport. I love how they are so caring and so sweet to deal with. I recommend their grooming services also. We have three dogs and they know each dog by name.. Great to deal with all the time.
