Dr. Royster and his team are incredible. We love Haverford animal Hospital so much that when we had to move out of the area, we still bring our dog down from New York City for her yearly check ups and any procedures. He works so well with our dog, who is very shy and nervous of the vets office, and gives us very straightforward and matter-of-fact information that does not leave us guessing.

Amazing experience. Efficient and friendly staff and process, great accessibility, and Dr. Royster is wonderful. He really took his time with our dog and with explaining to me what's going on. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for great care for their furry ones.

We took our puppy here from the time we adopted her until she was around 10 months old. Repeatedly, we came in with worries about her digestive tract and general health, and our concerns were completely ignored by the veterinarian. We are both scientists by trade and we're diligent in monitoring her health, setting a strict schedule, and recording any changes to her behavior or bowel movements. The vet insisted that we fed her poisonous "human food" or let her get into hazardous material despite our insistence that we watch her carefully and he did not investigate her health further. We switched to Ardmore Animal Hospital and immediately our concerns were heard, taken seriously, and validated through examination and testing. Our dog is now healthy, eating well, and experiencing no gastrointestinal distress after receiving a proper diagnosis and treatment plan from a more attentive vet. 2 stars instead of 1 because the facility was generally clean and well-kept.

Snickers, our senior kitty, is looking forward to her follow-up with Dr. Royster and his team. Snickers was my mother's cat, who was recommended to see Dr. Royster, by her sister, Latte (our cat). Since 2006, all of our cats (Sterling and Shadow) were patients, when living in Ardmore. We returned to the care of Dr. Royster, after moving to Philly, because of less than optimal local vet experience(s).

There is no other Vet like Dr. Royster in the Greater Philadelphia.After our cats were patients of Dr. Royster for nearly 10 years, we moved from the Mainline to Philly. After trying several local vets, we went back to The Haverford Animal Hospital!

My dog had severe gastrointestinal problems and he was very nervous being in a strange place. The nurse took the time to sit on the floor with him, ease his jitters, and have him trot off with her without resistance.His care plan and prescribed medication resolved the problem after a visit to his primary doctor did not.

Dr Royster has been my dogs vet for 20 years. He's great with my babies and his staff is top notch! I don't mind driving from where I live to him because I know his recommendations will be honest and with my pups well being in mind.

The vet himself is fantastic, I've never met a more experienced and helpful veterinarian. For some reason, the nursing/reception staff absolutely refuses to be helpful. Yesterday, I called to find out if my dog needed new medication after the doctor told me last week to "call back next week and check." The nurse was unable to answer, and kept asking me how many pills I wanted, and which type. When I said "I'm not trying to be difficult, but I would hope a doctor would make that decision and not the customer," she scoffed and told me to come in and get my medication whenever it was convenient for me.I said I could not come in that day, but I would come in the next day (today). I waited outside their office for 20 minutes today calling repeatedly, and they did not answer the door. I don't know why they aggressively drove me away as a customer, but I don't plan to use them ever again.

Dr.Royster and staff are terrific. My dog has had many health issues and Dr. Royster is always taking wonderful care of him and doing the most prudent things to keep him healthy. I wouldn't trust my dog with anyone else!

This vet came up during a google search and I decided to write a review that is long overdue. I had a pet rat who was having a little trouble breathing in the am yet had been fine the day before. Rats are very prone to respiratory infections, as I’ve had experience with this before and can be cured with antibiotics. It was a Saturday, so unfortunately, my regular small animal vet at my regular office was not in. I called this vet and asked if they saw small pets, specifically rats and I was told that they did. I brought my rat here, thinking I could leave with the antibiotics and my rat would be feeling better that afternoon. The first thing that irritated me was that they kept referring to my rat as “he” even though I corrected them saying she was a girl multiple times. I found it very disconcerting that they claimed to know about rats when they didn’t even know the gender (male and female rats are very easy to tell apart due to their anatomy). Secondly, the vet was trying to convince me that my rat had cancer (overnight and with no other symptoms than a wheeze...). Long story short, I was bullied into putting my pet to sleep that day and received attitude from the staff about my reluctance with that decision. In the end, I had no other offices to take my pet to that day and knew she would not make it til Monday. I still feel incredibly guilty for taking her here. These vets did not know about rats and then slapped me very unsympathetically with a huge bill for an emergency visit and the injection. I now have a cat and a dog and would never take them here.

Dr. Royster is very kind and professional. He seems to have a magic touch with animals. My dog can be a little skittish but he handles her beautifully. Dr. Royster is very responsive to our calls and provides detailed reports after each visit. He is very reasonably priced and provides excellent service. His staff is top notch, friendly and courteous. They are very sweet to my dog. I would highly recommend Dr. Royster to anyone looking for a veterinarian who truly cares about the pet and the owner.

told me they didn’t accept emergencies at this time but it’s an emergency hospital...the person gave me attitude and told me to go to the cochehocken one yet i don’t live near that at all and don’t drive. i told her that and all she said is okay..very useless and clearly main liners work there.
