We are now in our third class with Els and she is incredible. She teaches in a way that is positive which shows how much she cares for each dog and truly makes learning fun for dogs and owners. Our 7 month old Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier looks forward to going each week. We started with puppy fun classes and are now in Scent training. The puppy fun classes helped build a great foundation while bonding with our puppy. The scent works class is so much fun and our girl loves to search and find things when we hide them. Els has a way of teaching that will help bond you and your dog while having fun together. Can't wait to keep going to school as our puppy really likes to learn. I would highly recommend Something Els for you and your dog.

Els is a very patient and positive instructor for my 4 year old anxious golden doodle. With her help my pup is learning impulse control which I did not think was possible. We are returning for a second class to keep up his progress. Els is proof that you can teach an older dog new tricks!

My Doberman Maggie and I just finished our first course at Something Els, and immediately signed up for a second. Els' teaching style is very patient and common-sense, she demonstrates and explains in a very understandable way. She encourages at-home practice between classes, and if we were still having trouble with something, she suggests other strategies.

My 10 month old English mastiff, Rosie has taken both Puppy Fun classes and Household Obedience 1. It’s not just for my pup, but also for me, as her owner, to learn the appropriate ways to train my dog in a positive way. We BOTH love going to school there! Rosie and I are about to take Household Obedience 2 and my other pup just finished her first puppy fun class! It’s great for learning and socialization. I highly recommend Something Els Dog School 😃

Wonderful experience taking Household Obedience I with my 9 year old son and 10 month old corgi. In 6 short weeks there was a huge change in our puppy (he listens to us now!). Els is patient, thorough and really knows what she's doing. Couldn't be happier with the class and the results. Can't wait to take more classes in the future

We love taking our dog to Something Els dog school! She is a rescue and was afraid of everything when she was first adopted. She had never lived in a home before! We brought her to Burt and Els and they helped us so much with basic training and how to build her confidence up. We are now at the dog school weekly for agility and couldn't be happier! Our dog is thriving and it's all thanks to the lovely Something Els Dog School for helping us along the way.

This was our first experience with Something Els Dog School and let me say they did not disappoint. The facility is bright, airy, open and inviting! My daughter and new puppy were able to attend their puppy fun class. Els is an amazing instructor and they learned so much together. It was fun to see them both working so hard and now how they complement each other. It couldn't have been done without Els constant encouragement! We've already signed up for the puppy fun class 2 and I can't wait to see what the two of them are able to accomplish next!

We have taken three classes with Els and have loved every single session. Benny, a golden doodle, has a lot of energy, but Els is always patient, kind and encouraging. She is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about her work, and she's always willing to answer any and all questions. We can't wait for our next class!

I HIGHLY recommend Something Els Dog School! Els is absolutely amazing! A zoom call, an in person visit, and finally a class! Midas was a very scared rescue pup. He was literally scared of his own shadow. We got him when he was 8 months old, and he had known nothing of a home, human interaction, wasn’t potty trained. Midas has come such a long way, and absolutely LOVES Els!!! We just completed the household obedience one class. After some more confidence building we will definitely be going back for another class!! So thankful to have found someone that truly cares about you, your pups, and knows how to help them gain confidence and learn!

Burt and Els make working with and training your dog so much fun. They are both very knowledgeable and make the experience well worth your while. I really loved taking Puppy Fun Class 1 with Els. She was very clear in her instruction and made the learning fun. Els seemed to have an innate understanding and connection with all of the puppies in our class so was able to help the "human parents" communicate with their particular dog. Cally and I are becoming a closer team and it was fun watching the progress with our classmates as well. I plan on taking many more classes with Els.Puppy Fun Class 2 was even more fun because of the foundation learned in Puppy Fun Class 1. Very eager to learn more from Els.Since Puppy 1 & 2, Cally and I have taken Trick Class and the Four on the Floor Workshop. It's always fun taking classes with your best friend and is especially fun at Something Els Dog School. Cally & I have learned so much with Els.I was so glad I signed up for the workshop. Cally is so overflowing with exuberance and life that she finds it difficult to curb her excitement and show her love by jumping and other behaviors that are pretty crazy. This workshop taught me how to redirect her entusiasm and we are improving every day. It was fantastic to see the difference in our fellow dog students from the beginning of the workshop compared to our last day. Pandemonium the first day to happy calmness--dogs definitely doing their best to self-control on certificate day. Jumping curbed and dogs listening and responding correctly to the alternate instructions/commands by their moms & dads. Workshop was well spaced out so there was plenty of time to practice. This workshop gave us building blocks on which to keep working. It won't be long until all of us in this class will have dogs that know the polite greeting automatically. It will be great to introduce our dogs to others without worry and when we return home, we won't be attacked with love. GREAT WORKSHOP. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

The class structure was very nice. My dogs confidence significantly improved over the 6 week puppy fun class. Els provided easy to learn commands and even sent instructions through email after on how to do the commands so you could review at home. Will definitely be going back for more classes!

Titus and I both really enjoyed out Fun Puppy Class. I was skeptical at first, all positive training. I couldn’t imagine how I could get my puppy trained without any negative training. Well Els got it. She is so dedicated not just to her business but to each puppy and owner. Her methods are so easy to understand and easy to do, it works. We have already signed up for our next class.

Maya and Luna successfully completed Puppy FUN Class 1. They learned so much in the short six weeks and were able to transfer what they learned in class to the home setting. I also liked that the class included a trip to Lowes Home Improvement Store during week 4. That experience is truly something I probably never would have initially tried on my own. Els is a great trainer-very patient and clearly loves dogs. My dogs looked forward to seeing her each week. We’ve already signed up for Puppy FUN class 2.

We really enjoyed our time at Puppy Fun class. Our girl is a rescue, who is very nervous of new situations. Els was so patient and understanding with her. Her positive reinforcement training has been so helpful to our day to day with Joanie. Joanie is really coming out of her shell, in just 6 weeks. She is enjoying learning the basics. We decided to sign her right back up for the next 6 weeks of training. I would recommend these classes to anyone - but it is a great class for beginners. The training is simple, yet effective!

My 5month old puppy Iris just completed her 2nd Puppy Fun Class with Els - and she LOVES Els! I haven’t had a puppy in like forever and Els has helped me to Learn how to relax and enjoy my puppy. Great dog training facility! Our crazy husky was a wild one that we needed help with. Els was able to teach us how to get her attention and focus on commands. Class sizes were small and personable so we got lots of needed attention to encourage us on our training journey. Would highly recommend!!!

My 7 year old rescue dog Hazel recently completed the obedience 1 class. I appreciated the small class size, and the patient, calm demeanor of Els. Hazel is apprehensive and reactive to new situations, but she still learned the basic skills taught in the 6 week period. I strongly recommend to others, and will continue on with more classes.

I have been working with Els since just before the 2020 shutdown. We started with the AKC Trick Class - I didn't appreciate just how smart my dog, Maggie, is. Els is very low key and meets you where you and yout dog are - she's really good at reading my dog and then directing me in how to adjust what I do, and how I issue commands. Then we moved on the Pre-Agility which Maggie LOVED. The bond I had made with her in the trick class really helped and I could transfer the skills to Agility. And now we are on our third Agility class. We have participated also in agility classes in a large horse barn. If you had told me six months ago that Maggie could enter a ring, focus on agility and not be distracted by loud noises and barking of other dogs I would have laughed!

Els clearly loves every dog in her class even the most rambunctious ones! We felt it was well worth the cost for our 4 month old puppy, and plan to enroll in Puppy Fun 2 in the future. Being a novice dog owner, I would recommend this school for those contemplating a class for their dog. She gave practical advice and homework which worked well with our dog.

We just graduated puppy fun class yesterday, and we loved it! Els is so good with all the pups (and owners) and you can tell she genuinely loves her job! The Dog House is a great facility and very clean! Els also makes herself available to help with any questions or issues you may be having, even in between classes! We can't wait for our next course!

Great training atmosphere. Many levels of training. Els is very knowledgeable about all aspects of dogs and owners. I have worked with my own dogs for many years but her input was valuable with my first giant breed, a st. Bernard/greater Swiss mountain dog. Highly recommend Something Els dog school!
