What a delightful stop. My wife and I stopped for breakfast after an overnight stay at Mount Airy Casino. We were very pleasantly greeted at the door and seated. Drink orders came out immediately as did our food. Food was hot and well cooked and is comparable to other 4 star diners. What separates this diner from others is the friendliness. My wife and I have never been here before but we were made to feel welcome. Our server Christina made us feel like we were part of her family. After we left my wife discovered that she had left her bag behind at this diner. We called and they had it waiting for her at the front counter. I would not hesitate to return and I highly recommend this diner if you are in the area and especially if you were visiting Mount Airy. Save yourself from a 45 dollar breakfast there and visit Mountainhome Diner instead. You won't be disappointed.

We stopped here for breakfast! The diner is super cozy and the staff is so nice and energetic! The amount of food we received in comparison to the price of each dish we ordered qualifies as a bargain! I went for the Denver Wrap and it was DELICIOUS!!

Eton christen the moment you walk in, you can smell the deliciousness of the breakfast, the toast, the eggs especially the fresh coffee then your greeted by the lady at the front (Eton definitely spelt it wrong) she took us to our table where the waitress greets us.I got the alpine omelette with Swiss, American, bacon, onion and peppers (my omelette was modified) but it was so delicious as well as the home fries, i ordered a side of fruitThe waitress Christen was so nice and kind made sure we were well taken care of and I noticed the other waitress were also very kind. We had no left over bc it was so good but I noticed the tables around out that did have left over they made sure to ask if they wanted to take it so there no wasted food even the drinks which I believe all places should do thatOverall amazing and I won a rubber duck at the claw machine the experience was amazing thank you to all the staff

We came up to the Poconos to attend a Weekend to remember retreat. We chose not to stay at the Skytop Lodge and we were looking for a place to eat breakfast. We found Mountain Home Diner and we were happy with the food which was very reasonably priced, and the service was great! Liz attended to us the two days we went and she made us feel welcomed.

What can I say, I was honestly amazed by the food that was made here. I and my family were traveling and looking for a spot to eat. To our discovery, we find this gem diner with A1 hospitality. The hospitality alone made us feel very welcome and thus the experience was unforgettable. Going to this restaurant will most definitely be an experience. Plus prices are great too.

Above average diner- had tasty tuna salad on lettuce. Sweet potato fries needed a little ketchup to fix it up, yet all in all, the food was fresh and tasty. Decent place for lunch ~

Nice, comfortable space. Good homey food, filling. Nothing exceptional or super flavorful, but good prices.Friendly staff. Seems like a spot for the locals-- nice vibe.Small restrooms--not accessible. Note to new parents: No changing table (in Women's room at least).

A small cozy diner with friendly staff and prompt service. Food quality is good but not the best. Pancakes that we ordered were a bit dry but tasty. French toast was delicious with good amount of toppings. I liked the way they put berries on my toast since they didn't have strawberries. Overall a must visit place for breakfast if around.

In the picturesque embrace of towering peaks and whispering pines, Mountain Home Diner beckons weary wanderers with the promise of culinary delights. As I sauntered through the quaint entrance, a melange of scents enveloped my senses, a symphony of sizzling delights intermingling with the comforting notes of home-cooked nostalgia. The ambiance, akin to a cozy alpine retreat, evoked a sense of warmth that transcended the mere confines of the rustic walls.Embarking on a gastronomic journey, I navigated the menu like a seasoned cartographer exploring uncharted culinary territories. Each dish bore the imprint of meticulous craftsmanship, a testament to the chef's culinary prowess. The capacious mountain-themed mural adorned the walls, narrating tales of culinary conquests amid the peaks. My taste buds embarked on an expedition of flavors, from the savory peaks of perfectly seared steaks to the verdant valleys of crisp salads. The service, like a gentle breeze guiding me through the menu, was attentive yet unobtrusive, allowing the dining experience to unfold organically. In the twilight of my meal, as the last forkful vanished into the abyss of satisfaction, I couldn't help but marvel at the gastronomic odyssey that unfolded within the unassuming walls of Mountain Home Diner. A culinary haven nestled in nature's embrace, leaving patrons with a taste of the mountains and a yearning for more.

We arrived at 2pm and all they had to serve was breakfast still and for lunch they only had burgers. The waitress was very touchy and rude and so was the manager. The food is awful and the service was terrible, we had a party of 11 people and we didn’t order much food and the bill came out to $306 and all the items on the bill were overpriced by $4 to $5 more each. We had to do the bill ourselves and the actual price came out to $209, we almost got overcharged. They tried scamming us and it’s clear to see why because they don’t get much customers. L Diner.

Cash only restaurant. Charges a 3.5% surcharge for card payments. Food was subpar. I always do card payments. So I basically had to pay 18 percent tip plus 3.5% extra on top of my bill. I’d rather go elsewhere where this punishment of not paying in cash does not exist. If you’re a vegetarian or vegan don’t go. I’m a vegetarian myself was just disappointed.

Want the experience of a small town family-owned diner? Mountainhome Diner is the best local diner in the Poconos, in my opinion. They remember your name, your order, & if they're not totally packed, will sit and chat with you. Both Christine waitresses are a pip: courteous and friendly with a side of quirky. Food is tasty, prices are reasonable, and they are always willing to try and accommodate your special requests.I ordered an eggs benedict without the ham, instead have sausage links on the side, as pictured. Some of the best waffles and eggs benedict in the area!Thank you Etab and Alan for creating such a simple, and friendly hometown atmosphere!

Friendly greeter, was seated right away, and waitress came right over for our drinks. The waitress was super sweet but her perfume was very strong. The food was just ok, potatoes tasted reheated and the omelet was under cooked. Atmosphere: there was a party of 6 in the center of the resturant, must've been a "regular" bc they were yelling singing letting their children scream across the table and the restuarnt staffed seemed unfazed and chimed in at times. The restaurant did not appear to be busy at the time we came in but had multiple tables with dishes and food still left. The bathroom needs a very good cleaning, smelled dirty and the feminine napkin/garbage was not emptied in quiet sometime adding to the smell.

Our favorite place to get breakfast in the Poconos! Food is delicious, and staff are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. You get more than your monies worth when you visit. Can't wait to get back!Parking: You can park around the restaurant or in the lot out back.

We had just 30 minutes to sit, order, and eat before we had to hit the road. We told our waitress and everyone immediately jumped into action for us, getting our order in, getting our check dropped, EVERYTHING. It’s obvious how much these owners and employees love their customers and love their business. Our BLT’s were perfect and tasty! Thank you!

Our server was super sweet! The place was clean and pleasant.I was surprised my husband's eggs were dumped right on top of his pancakes? Thought it was odd but said nothing, then I heard another server ask if another customer wanted a separate plate for their eggs🤷. Wish they had sugar free syrup but since we had some small packages of our own it didn't bother us much but, had we not had our ouw.. I would definitely suggest they invest in SF syrup for the sake of diabetes and calorie counters like my husband! I never knew it was so difficult to get eggs cooked though with the yolks unbroken but I hate it when I get them with the yolk broken as I did here, because I will NOT eat them. Otherwise the food was great and we enjoyed this local place!

Top notch service and delicious food for the price. Staff was skilled, orders taken promptly, and not much wait for the food. We ordered omeletes, chicken sandwiches, and ice cream. My only complaint is even though the decaf coffee was freshly brewed, it was average taste at best. With free refills I don't blame them. I'd definitely go back.
