I purchased 30 feet of rope here. It came to $44. It stayed in my car for a day. The following day I'm looking around and..its significantly cheaper than a couple other places. I figured I would just take it back with the receipt and have my money refunded. I was told that I couldn't get my refund because the rope was the kind that they had to pull out and cut and that they wouldn't be able to sell it now as everyone wants different lengths...I completely understand this. Seriously. It makes sense. I do not blame them at all however perhaps another angle could have been them taking it back and leaving it on the counter..even better maybe if they "eat" $4 or so and advertise it for $40. My sixth sense tells me that it would have sold within a month as now is the time of year people are outside and doing projects. Anyway, by not "eating" the $4, they have lost a customer. I am no means a regular customer. I'm probably there 2-3 times a year but when I'm there its for a reason and that is to buy something that they have. By not offering at least something, they will now lose more than $4. I will just go elsewhere.

My first visit since the store was updated. Same place with same service but WOW it is a real modern hardware with all the trimmings! Happy to have the store evolve in our rural setting. A real history lesson.

They have greatly expanded their inventory over the past few years. I was disappointed to see that the old built-in cabinets are gone now, but things change and change again. That's life.

One of the best mom & pop,originals still kickin it as far a hardware stores go. If you'd like to, or have never experienced old world atmosphere and service you need to go there just for the experience.

Family owned and operated for EVER!!! Kennedy's Hardware sometimes has that odd tool that you can't get from the chain hardware stores. Sometimes they do cost a little more for their convenience tho. Overall great hometown feel.
