I've been coming here on and off the last few years and have yet to have a bad experience. Today, I had their bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit, and it was exactly what i hoped for this morning.Always friendly staff, food is amazing and a lovely calm atmosphere. Local family owned businesses are the best, and I will continue to support those places.

Stopped in for some coffee ☕ and brunch. Unfortunately, the self serve coffee was out and we had to ask multiple times to get coffee. Also, they forgot an item we ordered and we had to go back a few times to ask for it after waiting a very long time. The food was pretty good though! The service was subpar ☹️Vegetarian options: YesDietary restrictions: YesParking: Street parkingKid-friendliness: YesWheelchair accessibility: Yes

If coffee is your religion, you are in the right place 👌The Riv Cafe is such a cool spot. This refurbished old church blends the cozy ambience of communal dinning with a modern coffee shop vibe.We relished the chance to get a few hours of work done in the pews while sipping a good local roast and enjoying our lunch.Lots of plant-based options for our fellow vegans and flexiteriains. Free coffee refills were a win! They also have a good list of local teas and baked goods. We love a farm to table food concept and everything we tried tasted delicious.Lots of indoor and outdoor seating options. The staff was attentive and very friendly.Good street parking. Solid Wifi. They close at 2 pm though (November 2021) so plan accordingly. We wish we could hang longer. It made such a great remote work spot!

We had the very best time checking out the Riv. My kids and I stopped by just before close and they couldn’t have been more gracious about letting us stay late and offered the full menu. Genuinely the best chicken and biscuits I’ve had in the northwest. The service was above and beyond, the atmosphere was so chic, and the food was easily the best I’ve had since moving to the gorge! We’ll be back many many times to our new favorite place.

Kids found The Riv while arguing over where to go for breakfast and they NAILED IT. The 6 of us came on what turned out to be their 6th anniversary and were pleasantly surprised at the register to find out our 6th meal was free in celebration of the anniversary (yay!)Such a beautiful remodel(?) repurpose(?) of an old church - something you don't often see. The food is even better. Glad we went and we'll back back every year when we come visit family. Only regret is not knowing about The Riv sooner.

The best Cobb salad I ever had. Not the typical cold salad you would expect. Instead of cubed hard boiled eggs and cubed ham, you get a hot, over easy egg and fresh cooked, large, crispy bacon pieces on top of the salad. This could be Keto - but it comes with crisp grilled bread which is irresistible! My photo is of the small Cobb salad.

I love this place. The food is fantastic and so is the coffee and tea. I recommend the Bravado panini and the chicken and waffles for sure. The owner guy asked me to leave once because I was interviewing customers for a news story (my bad) and sometimes I feel like he still gives me a 'look' like I better behave lol... but other than that I've always had a good experience here! It's a 10/10 brunch spot for sure.

This cafe is incredible: great location, friendly staff, and delicious food.I stopped in here for brunch to have a quick bite and really enjoyed the toast with jam and iced Americano. It was so good in fact, we stayed longer for an order of eggs Benedict Florentine. The staff here were super nice and welcoming. Our orders came out surprisingly quickly, but most importantly the food was fresh and well made. There is indoor and outdoor dining available. We sat outside in the stone courtyard since it was a nice day. The finches and other small birds flitting around the trees and chirping made for a unique and charming atmosphere. To any reading, I would highly recommend this cafe.

This place was so cute in a quiet neighborhood. Food, coffee, and service was amazing. My friend is lactose intolerant and has finicky stomach and the staff worked amazing with us to find food for BOTH of us.Dietary restrictions: My friend is lactose intolerant and has finicky stomach and the staff worked amazing with us to find food for BOTH of us.

The cappuccino was strong and not for me. I ordered the vegan sandwich with a bean patty and it quickly turned into a salad with bread on my plate. The tomato soup was really good, but I believe that it’s hard for anyone to mess up a tomato soup.Vegetarian options: They have options but they’re not for me.

Great food that is well seasoned and so tasty. The biscuits and gravy was very rich and unique. Barista was very welcoming and confident (Flat White and Soy Latte) Kid friendly with a few toys for younger kids. Took our 11 month old and had great time. No changing table, but they said they hoped to soon.

The setting is lovely. I love repurposed buildings. The biscuits make this a place to come to twice. I loved the spicy drizzle on the delicious avocado toast. The courtyard with shade and surrounded by honeysuckle was pleasant. The reason it is not 5 stars was the very salty gravy, and my husband would normally have added plenty after tasting. Maybe it was a one off. Either way, we will go again.

Absolutely cannot give enough stars to this place. They have a very welcoming atmosphere and friendly service too. Kellie took my order and was very helpful and kind. I had 2 different flavored smoothies and they were definitely awesome. I hear they have great food coffee and specialty teas also😉 They have indoor and outdoor seating for your comfort. If you are looking for an actual healthy yummy smoothie in or near The Dalles this is your go-to place Stay kind everyone✌️

I was in the Dalles, OR for the labor day weekend and discovered this cafe. This is a gem of a place!! When I arrived, I’d have easily missed this place if it wasn’t for the customers seated in the open area. After all, this cafe is housed in a remodeled church! Which is charming! Ah, it was rather dreamy!Since I decided to sit out in the open, it took me a while to figure out that one needed to go in and order at the counter and then pick a table and wait for the dishes. On to the food! I wanted a simple breakfast and ended up getting the porridge. I loved it. Any restaurant that can make the most basic dishes yummy are the best kind out there! And, The Riv cafe really served the best porridge that I’ve had so far! The cool porridge was deliciously refreshing under a warm sun! 😋 The drip coffee was fresh and yummy too!If you’re in the Columbia Gorge or around The Dalles, stop by here. You’ll not regret it! Personally, I’d consider making a little detour to stop by, if I’m around. 🙂

Secluded away within the humble homes this wonderful cafe offers fantastic atmosphere for any party size, as well as live music giving the perfect morning vibe on the weekend. The staff was very pleasant with wonderful banter, and honest about the wait times on a busy morning. Since we had such a wonderful spot under a shade tree with birds and music, didn't hardly feel like a wait tho. Definitely my new favorite cafe in town! Just wish I could come more often!!

Super tasty food and relaxing outdoor patio. I had a chicken gyro with a tangy tzatziki sauce that was divine. The tomato soup was a perfect accompaniment.I ate here years ago when it was the Riverenza and since I don’t get to The Dalles very often I was so glad to see that this cute old church is still serving up delicious food. I hope to be back soon!

Amazing. Inside and outside seating that's relaxing and comfortable, set in an old church gives it a very cool vibe. The food and coffee is unreal. Best waffles we've ever had. Great service, this place is a win.

We went and the menu is being redone by new owner. The panini we did get was good but lackef choices. The site was one of a kind. Church turned cafe. Interesting too is appears to be in a residential neighborhood. I have high hopes when we come back. :)
