I will be taking my pup to this one for grooming from here on out! John was fantastic with my tripaw, and the nicest, sweetest and most gentlest soul you will meet. My pup was so comfortable with him & that never happens. The people at this store on Commercial Street compared to the store on Center Street are so much more friendly and happy to help. Thank you!

First time I used the veterinary service through them. They offer a free first visit and the staff was cordial but nothing about my free visit was affordable and the quote for a neuter for my 7lb Chihuahua was outrageous! Best of luck with that... I'm a one income single parent I also am a pet responsible mom but that quote was over the top. And the free visit is only free if you have a coupon and proof of your coupon.

Madison was an AMAZING help with our reptile. So knowledgeable and friendly! Very easy to approach. Definitely need more employees like her! You could really tell she cares <3 as first time gecko owners ,she was very patient about helping us, answered all of our questions, from nutrition to supplies to handling. 10/10 recommend.

I loved visiting here when I was six, I would always beg my father to get me a Parrot. I come here All the time to get The fish and frog I own, but recently My parents told me I could get a cat. So the first thing I did after Visiting OHS was Come her to Get some Supplies for my New cat, The problem I did have here is that there wasn’t much clothes for kittens- (jk) the problem I actually had was the place was EXPENSIVE. I spent $442 Dollars Getting 7 ITEMS. And the items where SMALL. And, There where several dead Beta fish still on display, it felt Quite disturbing. Other than that I loved the place and got to get everything I needed for my new cat.(The following pictures are the items I bought:

Friendly staff, easy of finding things. I enjoy the multiple choices of animal food. My only negative comment is when shopping, it would be nice if 1 out of the 3 staff members walking around ask you if you need help especially since what your looking for is not on the shelf.

I tried to place an online order.I paid for the order and then for some reason your system canceled it.And I did not have an order when I went to go Pick it up risking my tank. When I called customer service, I found out that they didn't even give me a refund for canceling my order. I had to place another order. I lost some of my vital care discounts because of it and ended up having to pay more.

I have followed Dr. Rowland from another clinic because I truly appreciate how he operates in all facets of pet care. While the staff is super friendly, they have NEVER once answered a phone when I've called to schedule, reschedule, or even left a message. You just don't hear from them at all. If you aren't using their online system, it seems like you aren't going to get any type of response. Otherwise, nice and clean location, friendly people, but really bad customer service as far as reaching them is concerned. I'd love to give 5 stars because I think Dr. R is the bomb, but I'd give 2 as far as staff is concerned because you can't reach them or receive a return call. This seems like a very easy thing to correct, but maybe no one else has taken the time to make the complaint.

Pleasantly surprised at the selection of dog treats. Also lots of choices in aquarium fish. Lacked staff assistance, me and another lady couldn't get help finding items. Overall experience was great, will be returning. 🙂

We have Been in all 3 different petco’s is in town. Today we went into this location to get fish to add to a tank we’ve already set up per Petco employee recommendations. We spoke with Roxy twice. The first time she was abrasive, rude, and not exactly helpful or friendly. The second time she was getting our fish after she was so rude to my husband he had to ask her to cool down. Then when a small child (not with us) kindly asked if she could help her get a fish. She snapped at the child and was so rude both my husband and the child’s mother were in shock. I am not sure why we’d go back.

One ran outside after my friend and I and said that if we were gonna she was gonna call the cops next time we're came in. So I followed her back to the store and asked her to check my purse and she said she was good. And then said she saw has me Put in self into my purse and she has me on camera. I told her really go check the cameras. Want me to see the cameras? She said no I don't have to no 10 k, then you have nothing so what you're doing right now is illegal that's slander. She proceeded argue with me, saying that she could check the cameras. But wouldn't check the cameras. we were in there for like maybe 5 minutes in. Realize that what we were gonna get was cheaper at Walmart. In the whole time that she was arguing with me. She's literally yelling across the store at me as she is at a register. Helping another employee with four customers very professional. Not. And there is an employee that wasn't on shift. That was standing by us. And then when we left to go to Rite Aid that same girl followed us over to ride it. Watching us for some reason......... give u another chance. I've been talking with some lawyers cause what your employees did was wrong. My friend and I are so embarrassed. I'm suing for slander. Those employees are not loss prevention. They sould not be making that kind of judgment call on someone.

We always took our cats here to see a vet. The appointment and the waiting time take a bit, but the price is much more affordable elsewhere. Dr. Austin is very kind and patient. Our cat had an accident, and I met Dr.Austin again today for a follow-up. He healed fast, and the deep wound got better. We will have the next visit for blood work to make sure he does not get any disease. All the staffs are friendly, I felt welcome every time I visited. Thank you!

So I got a fish yesterday and it passed away today and we had already had the filter going overnight we had everything going everything was fine got the fish it just passed away today and they are refusing to help me with this situation when the manager literally told me to bring in the receipt which I had my significant other do and they still would not give me the refund so I highly highly suggest you guys not going here they are a scam. Also when I was looking at the bettas yesterday before I got one One of them had tail rot the other had ick so I would discourage you guys from going here it's not with your time.

Fr refused cash refund just because they were too lazy to get the actual manager. He said he was the manager though? Short people in retail always let their tiny amount of power go to their heads against me 🤠

Horrible!!!! Went for crickets for my new pet and was shocked to see that almostall the pre packaged “live” crickets were dead…. And when I say dead, I mean fermented to the bottom of the container, black mushy and smelly dead, been there for weeks dead…. When I asked an associate if they had live bulk, crickets in the back because the ones in the container were dead she said sometimes that happens, to which I replied, I could understand maybe one or two containers, but it was literally every container. At one point the associate glared at me and asked if I had some thing I needed to say to her. I told her that I was going to keep my mouth shut that she didn’t want to hear what I had to say. She literally took me pointing out the fact that all of the animals were dead as a personal attack on her, in which case, she became very defensive and very rude, and I ended up having to deal with another associate. My only regret is that I did not have my phone on me to be able to take pictures of what I found. Absolutely disgusting and I refuse to go back to any Petco anywhere. That’s too bad because we have four ball pythons a bearded dragon and two wonderful dogs. But our animals deserve better than rotting in a dish somewhere!!!!! Considering how many employees were standing around aimlessly I just think that pet area left A LOT to be desired. Unfortunately, employees are not held responsible for their actions, so nothing will happen to this particular associate. 😡

I observed an employee (the manager I believe) being rough and rude with a dog. I was turned away because my dog just had vaccines, which is understandable, but then when I asked for a next day appointment to allow 24 hours to pass I was turned away. The Petco in Albany has better customer service and they are so kind with your pet. Please choose another Petco and avoid the South Salem location.

The customer service representatives are thoughtful and know the care of pets. When purchasing a new hamster, the representative questioned me about my knowledge and explained how to make sure the hamster lives a long life. Good job!

Well they're actually very good. They've stopped selling the compostable dog bags that I like to use. The ones they sell no are very thin and don't say anything about being compostable. I always buy my dog food there and a few extra treats. Really there's not too much to complain about. The customer service that I receive there is very good. Really there's nothing to complain about. I'm happy shopper and I can always find what I need with just that one exception.

We like the groomers but the vet is tough. Front desk person is extremely short and rude and you also cannot get through on the phone. You have to leave a message and you usually hear back the next day. In today’s world, it’s an inefficient way to do business.

Rusty got his first hair cut of the season! He's a long haired Australia shepherd and gets anxious, Alex does a great job with him!! With all that fur it takes about 3 hours but it's well worth it. He even got Rusty to be "ok" with the dryer and even getting his nails trimmed! !

it is literal animal abuse how they keep their reptiles and amphibians, not a single reptile or amphibian there had even the minimum for what they need to be comfortable and healthy. they overcharge for animals that are in bad condition and let them die if nobody buys them. the whole chain should be shut down or at the very least not be able to sell animals.
