I want to love this place because it’s convenient and the staff is so nice but the last visit was my final straw. The last three times we’ve gone have been a mess, and the time right before those three times, they told us to go to Claws n paws because they didn’t have openings for weeks because they don’t have the staff. I feel badly because they’re overworked from the lack of staff but in the midst of being overworked, they shaved my dog too closely and broke skin. The fact that they knew and didn’t tell me is upsetting, or if they didn’t know they did it, that’s even more upsetting.

The nail trim service is a true blessing. My girl has a very long quicks and they were able to accommodate easily. Will definitely use this as my number one pet store.

Great service. I did the self serve dog wash, they were so nice. They showed me where everything was. They even provided ear cleaning, teeth brushing, and nail clipping supplies. Great place to wash your dog! I highly recommend it.

We are in Salem from Oregon City to have our dog spay and stopped in to get an inflatable e collar. They couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. Thank you so much. Prices were great too.

I have used Pet Etc for grooming my Standard Poodle and my recent addition of a Goldendoodle for 2 years now. I love how friendly they are and each time I come in, (every 4 weeks), they treat me like I am family and also treat my girls like their own. Their grooms always turn out awesome and especially the dye I opt for on both of my fur kids. Jessica the groomer is a master at her art. Highly recommend this establishment!

Great local pet supply store in West Salem. This is our favorite pet store. They have everything you need, plus their own in-house cat. They are always friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

I've been a customer of this establishment since early the 2000's! When my family and I brought our GS mix pup home with a Pedigree puppy diet, I knew exactly where to go to get the best advice. Not only are the associates caring and hardworking, they have excellent knowledge of their products! I am sure I have posted a review here before, but needed to do it again, especially as my pup gets compliments ALL.THE.TIME about his healthy coat, eyes, and teeth. Thank you Pet Etc for making us happy, and for it to be so easy to be customers for life!

Do not get your dogs groomed here! The owner is extremely rude. They totally messed up my dogs haircut. She went in with fluffy long white ears and came out with them shaved off! Their excuse was saying that they were matted, which is not true because I had just combed them out the day before. If they felt the need that they were going to have to do something so drastic as have my beautiful dog come out with cat ears, they should’ve called me about it I live right here in West Salem and could’ve been down there to check it out myself in no time. I have been a repeat customer for years and there is one middle-age lady groomer there that has always done a good job. But this is totally unacceptable my dog is eight years old I have her groomed every 2 to 3 months since she was a puppy and I have never had this happen before saying her ears were too matted. Someone is not being truthful. The haircut should’ve been free not just at a slight discount. Horrible Customer Service! Even the nice young girl at the counter was agreeing with me. This doesn’t even deserve one star but I couldn’t make a post without any stars.

Great little local pet shop! Top quality brand foods, a bit pricey but many of the brands are on a buy X amount get one free which balances against big box stores. If you have a large breed strong dog who hates nails being clipped, the staff in the back are amazing and fearless! Tip them well, because that is a rare constitution!

I called Pet Etc last week and asked them about grooming my cat, I let them know that she is mean and asked multiple employees if that would be an issue. I was told by each employee that it was not a problem and they will try to groom her and one employee even told me "We do not give up very easily."Today was the day of her appointment and during drop off I again I let them know that she is mean and asked again if it will be an issue they said no but she had peed in her kennel on the way there, probably because she was nervous. And she said it was going to take much longer because they would have to wait for her to dry off. I told her that was fine but I could tell by her tone that she didnt want to do what she was saying she would have to do.We left the store and drove home but as soon as I walked in the door I received a call from Pet Etc where the gal told me my cat would be a great candidate for sedation at the vet because they couldn't even get her out if the kennel. I live about 2 minute drive from Pet Etc. So apparently "We do not give up very easily" means "We do not try very hard".She told me she couldn't even get her out of the kennel but no one evem bothered to take the top off of the kennel. I feel like they didn't want to deal with her because she peed in the kennel and it was going to take too long. I don't feel like they couldn't groom her, I feel like they wouldn't groom her.Regarding the owners response, your employees should not have told me that it would not be a problem that she is mean, the employee should have told me that if she hisses or growls they will not bother grooming her.I find it hard to believe that you don't have other pets growl or hiss. She was hissing while I was holding the crate and the employee said it was fine. So as convenient of an answer that is, I don't believe that is why they didn't groom her. I took her else where and she was taken care of very well with no issues and she did not have to be sedated, the employees just took the top off the crate.

This store does not honor its advertised prices. I just purchased some koi food that was advertised in-store @ $3.50/lb. but had to pay $4.99/lb., even after showing the salesperson the advertised price. Very poor business practices imho, so I will not be going back.

They are so nice. The groomers did amazing with clipping my dogs nails. My dog has anxiety when getting clipped and they were so calming with her.

Friendly, helpful staff that give just the right amount of space to browse. A punchcard-type deal on cat food (I believe dog food too), and good prices to make it worth it. And lovely Daphne the cat wandering around to top it off!

This is the best pet store in town. They are always prompt and outstanding with their deliveries, but today I am highly impressed. I placed an order at 2:30 today and it was on my doorstep by 3:00. I wasn’t expecting that at all. They’re always so kind when I go into the store. I’ve never had a bad or even okay experience shopping here. I refuse to go anywhere else in town especially after today.

Super friendly staff, reasonable prices, and my dogs love visiting for treats and nail trims! They have a groomer here as well, and have done great with my fluffy Great Pyrenees mix. She always comes back so soft, beautiful, and happy!! The space is a little small and cramped, but I think they do what they can and still try to provide a lot of variety for their customers.
