When the store first opened inventory was pretty good, and prices were reasonable. Boy, have things changed. Ever since the store was bought/merged with a larger conglomerate (CAL Ranch) the inventory has taken a massive hit. Items that show in stock online, never are when you get to the store to buy them. I’ve even placed online orders, completed checkout and within hours get an email saying the item is out of stock.Items that used to be carried (and were plentiful) like chicken feed, etc. are typically out of stock altogether. I’ve been trying for weeks to get items as basic as oyster shell for our flock and they haven’t had it in stock for at least 3 weeks. Also, the Purina foods that used to go on sale by 4 get a 5th bag free, or $2 off…those sales now only apply to the Country Companion brand which not nearly as many people use.Gem Pine shavings for your horses, good luck finding those in stock. Completely hit and miss, they MIGHT get a truck in (and they can never tell you when that trucks coming) and then not get another shipment in for a month or longer. It’s really, really frustrating.This inventory problem seems to be specific to the Salem location as we can often find what we need if we want to travel 20 minutes north to Woodburn. That is, if we happen to be in the area, otherwise we just head to Wilco and pick up what we need as they don’t seem to have a problem keeping items in inventory.Today, I went in to pick up some chick starter and there wasn’t a single bag of any size. Some might say, well…it’s chick season maybe they were sold out. Ok, but why have tanks and tanks of new chicks in the store but you don’t keep the absolute most basic items in stock to feed them? Makes absolutely zero sense. And taking it a step further, one whole side of the chicken supplies aisle is almost completely empty!These problems didn’t exist before CAL Ranch took over. The manager in this store needs to pull it together and keep his store in stock, or more and more people will find other places to shop.

The place overall is nice but I’m here to complain about a certain worker named Cassidy she was really rude and overall being shady to me and my family.we went to return a shirt and she kept sideying me without saying anything and overall it felt racist in a way. This was because infront of me in line was this lady which was white no hate to her and Cassidy the cashier was very talkative and nice and friendly to her but then when it was my turn I said hi to her being friendly and she was just quiet and ignoring us, I’m not typically the person to assume things but this just felt racist since I am Hispanic. I’m leaving this review just to say I did not feel welcome

I'd never been to this one and I'm glad I went! I've heard of the dog washing station and they have it. I'll definitely be back to wash my dogs. Nice clean store and very helpful employees.

This store has such a wide variety of inventory I can find almost anything I would need besides groceries here! From clothing and work boots to power tools and hardware anything pet related for dogs cats livestock and more even vaccines for animals. Also plenty of farm equipment like water sheds, horse troughs, everything needed to build stalls for livestock and so much more! Could get lost in there for hours shopping around.

Most of the time there is only one cashier and they are doing returns which take more. Then people are waiting to buy. My waiting time to pick up feed has become significantly longer.Update: customer service has become significantly worse. No help to get vaccines or wormer. My husband was there but couldn't get help. I was home and it wasn't until I called the store to tell them there was no one to help him that he got help. Once again, only one checker. It's absolutely ridiculous that they make one checker try to do returns on top of ringing up other customers purchases. I have not ever witnessed management helping in any way. Think I'll start driving across town to Wilco.

Went for canning supplies, ammo, and they had great sale on winter gear (gloves and beanies). Good prices! I would recommend this store.

Always great service, very helpful and seem to know where everything is unlike the staff at other retailers. I have to say thank you to the employee this morning for not making me feel awkward this morning when the beepers went off for some reason when i ran out to my car to grab more cash. I dont know why it went off because the rotobits i just got out of a package from home did not set it off the 2nd time i left so then i really felt awkward and embarrased. I dont know what the deal was but ive seen people be treated like criminals over this at other places when they obviously did nothing wrong and im glad i wasnt treated this way. Its already bad enough witb other customers looking at you funny. Thank you Coastal employee this morning.

One of my favorite stores in salem oregon. I absolutely love this place.It has a bit of everything,like clothes,jewelry,shoes,boots.It also has dog toys,cups,hats belts,weapons in the very back I've even seen baby chick's like the animal.Now the price is on the expensive side but you get brand names like CARHEART AND MORE.SO STOP ON IN YOU MIGHT WVEN SEE ME THERE.I WILL BE GOING BACK.

I used to think highly of Coastal ,but my last experience was frustrating. I called the store to verify the hours for the dog wash facility and was told it was open till 7pm .Great so I loaded up my dog and drove to the store arriving before 6pm , Then when I went to pay they told me they dog wash was closed because it got dirty. Even the hours posted on the facility door state 7pm . It's very disappointing when hours are not consistent it ends up wasting time and money for your customers.

The employees are very rude. They give you the feeling that you’re not wanted in the store. Then when I tried to checkout they only had one register open with a very long line. There was plenty of employees wandering around looking at the line but no one opened another. I didn’t bother checking out I just left and to a different store this is the last time I shop here.

No one there on the floor to help. I walked by one associate and no greeting or offer to help. One cashier... I put the items back and left.I trust it is not reflective of the company as a whole.This was my experience and it just wasn't great.

I hit up their Father's day sale on their Ariat jeans. They were buy 1 get 1 1/2 off. My son wears these so every bit saved helps as 1 pair was normally $85 !

Very clean and organized. I have mobility issues and they have the electric carts at the entrance of the store fully charged. Employees are very friendly and helpful. Coastal Farms has all sorts of things, plants, snacks, clothes, handbags, gloves, hats and lots of stuff for your pets!!.

I really do enjoy going to these locations, able to get many needed supplies, stuff for my bunnies, dogs, and a little early Christmas browsing, aka the weapons and ammo supplies. The staff were not very interactive, and it took me some extra time to find what I was looking for. I would still go back.

I like coastal. You can bring your dogs in and they sell everything from equine tack supplies to gun supplies. You can even buy dog food, cat food and various other supplies. Too bad they don't sell groceries, because then they would one stop shop.

Customer service and the store manager didn't seem to care that I purchased a flower bulb variety pack that had yellow in its description. Well after planting them and seeing every color grow but yellow, I was disappointed. I bought it because it had yellow. I spoke with corporate customer service and they spoke to the store for me. The store manager replied, they do not have any yellow bulbs right now. No credit, no further help, just a sorry. Oh well, off to another store.Reply,I started this whole process through your customer service and now I'm being directed back to customer service. Maybe it's best if I go through the supplier to get yellow bulbs.

Best coastal I have been to! I own a horse and help take care of a lot of farm animals, I also trim horses. This is the only Coastal I've seen that carry GE nippers and glue on shoes. They have a very large clothing section, a good boot selection but it is more than 90% men's. Staff is very friendly; one lady helped me look through nearly all the pants in the store for my size and then explained to me how to navigate the website to find exactly what I was looking for.

I went in to buy some jeans but was very shocked. They weren't all on the back wall like they used to be. They were scattered on different tables. Hard to follow sizes. It was just a big mess. When I asked the lady who checked me out she said that Coastal had just merged with a new company. I thought oh great. You just can't leave it alone.

This store is great for most of your farm, cloths and boot needs. Pretty good selection on most things. The areas I noticed them lacking is they are not good for gardening needs and there women boot selection does have much in the normal sizes. But if you have size 11 and up or 7 and below your good

Another great shopping day at coastal. The floor employees were friendly and helpful when I needed help to find products. The cashier was courteous and the two guys loading things at the pickup area were great as well.

A few of the employees are great, if you can find someone to help you they seem short on employees. I also purchased a duck from them a week later, I had to take her to the vet because she couldn't walk most likely she was sick when I got her I had to give her medicine for weeks and now she's having difficulty walking on her left leg so now I have to take her to the vet again to see whats wrong she doesn't want to walk at all and lays down all the time and when she has to walk she uses her wings to help her like crutches!

Costal is a far superior use of this space compared to Shopko, the previous tenant. There is special purpose hardware which I had never seen before, but I don't claim to be a rancher/farmer. Nice display of Stihl tools, but I don't think there are any chainsaws available for purchase in Oregon. And there's country music. . . .

Always satisfied with their service when we go, they have a card section that makes it easy to pick up the product that you need from the back to be loaded, which makes it always right after purchase for loading. Alot of the staff also has some knowledge on different animals and when we started chickens they helped a lot in getting the right product. The only thing is their gun section doesn't have a great selection of ammo or other products for them.
