This is a locally owned company, so I definitely go in as much as I can to help support our local community.I love this place. The people are so kind. They don't mind if you bring your leashed pet in with you. The last time we were there, my dog uncharacteristically lifted his leg and did a little peeps.I apologized immediately and asked for materials to clean it up. They were so kind and wouldn't let me do it. I felt so bad, but the girl assured me it wasn't a problem and promptly cleaned it up. Also,if they aren't really busy, they will make sure your furbaby gets a treat.Stop in to show some love and support to our Woodstock family.

This small and mighty pet supply store is helpful, clean and stuffed full of all the right supplies. I’ve been shopping here for the past two years. When my dog came home and had allergies to work through, they recommended the things that were free of allergens. When I was surprised by a kitten who appeared in my life, they advised and accepted returns of things she just wasn’t into. They also go so far out of their way to support my special, bulk orders. Really want to shower this little shop with appreciation.

Staff is always helpful,prices are competitive, shopping is easy. I was able to return an opened bag of dry cat food as it made one of the household cats have an upset stomach. The staff was very understanding and let me exchange the open and used bag for our typical brand.

Exceptionally friendly service! The person who helped me recommended a leather dog toy and my pooch is OBSESSED. I haven't seen her this in love with a toy maybe ever. I asked for a toy that could withstand a super super chewer and boy did they deliver. I highly recommend this store and the Tall Tails leather toys they carry. My dog sleeps with the darn thing!

Friendly and helpful staff. Good variety of healthy products at reasonable prices for your furry companions. I recently moved to the area. I feed my dogs Orijen, these folks were happy to special order the variety I wanted. My pup loves going there too and visiting with the folks that work there.

My doggo is a picky eater and also has a sensitive stomach. I liked how all of the employees were super patient while we tried and returned a few bags of food before settling on something from Nulo. My dog really liked the turkey flavor and it immediately sat well with his stomach!

Is the first time I've been to healthy pets Northwest and it was pretty surprising the selection of stuff that they had. It was actually pretty extensive and they carry the expensive dog food that I get for my dog. So hey can't go wrong with that

It takes a lot for me to write a review, let alone a poor one. But today's experience and nauseating email response I received back from the operations manager, Dusty, is one for the books. It took months for them to agree to special order dog food so I didn't have to make an extra trip across town to their competitor. Once they did, they decided to carry the brand in-house regularly which I was excited about. Their competitor offers a buy 12, get one free program which I understood to be from the manufacturer and thought the manager said it would be the same here. I've purchased 9 bags and today & when I asked how many more to get the freebie, the manager said they don't offer that and I could join their loyalty program. Join their loyalty program, now?! Gee, I wish I had known this sooner. Each bag is over $40. I was so frustrated and asked for the owner's info. She gave me Dusty who is the operations mgr. I wrote him explaining what had happened, his response was condescending and told me to go ahead and go to the competitor. WOW. Save your money! This place does not know what customer service and loyalty are all about. Not even trying to make things right is unbelievable to me. Yes, I will go back to your competitor. It's worth the extra trip to have good service!

We love this store! Family run, they support local vendors who make quality items. Vendors often have samples and reps able to answer questions. Staff will take as much time as you need to answer questions or fit gear in your dog.Dog baths are a fantastic plus!Just wish bathroom could be used by customers. I have to go to Safeway and end shopping, if toilet is needed....

Updating my review. Spoke to another employee and turns out the "store policy" is not "grain-free is the only way." We are all learning here, and have the same goal to do the best we can for our animals...while acknowledging that the research is in-progress in many regards. I appreciated the discussion and the new insights about feeding my puppy and will be back to the store. Nice to know they can order items and I remain committed to supporting local—both pet stores and food companies.

Edit -Since my original review (below) I have had nothing but wonderful interactions with any and all of the staff here. More than I was ever angry, I am now thoroughly impressed with the follow-through from the owner regarding what many may have considered a minor grievance.In my recent visits, I have been met with a noticeably more positive atmosphere, employees who are equally helpful as respectful, and all-round pleasant experiences!Original Review -Let me preface with: I LOVE this store.I have been coming here for about 4 years to get food, treats and accessories for my dog and cats.They have many quality choices at decently competitive prices; they're pretty great, you should definitely go here.But anyway; like I said, I have a 4 year history of regular, and loyal return patronage to this place. Which is why I feel compelled to say something about the extremely rude, petite, black-haired woman; who always accosts me as I enter, with overly aggressive loss prevention badgering.I am 25, I wear mostly black, I have 1.5-inch stretched lobes, and tattoos; so (even here in Portland, where my outward styling could be considered "tame" in comparison to many [also non-criminal] folks I know) I am used to people I don't know, negatively profiling me.I am a patient person, I usually just let it roll off my back and go on with my life.However, my being treated like a criminal simply for walking into a store that I've consistantly purchased from, at least once a month for the last 4 years, is not a professional representation of yourself as a business.

We brought home a sweet kitten a few weeks ago. The staff at healthy pets on Woodstock was incredibly helpful and gave me recommendations for food and even offered samples. These are tough times for everyone..it is so refreshing to chat with someone about something aside from doom and gloom in the world. The staff was so kind and enthusiastic about the work that they do. We are somewhat frequent shoppers of healthy pets in the past, but during this pandemic we feel that it is so important to support each other and small businesses. Thank you healthy pets for continuing to love what you do and adjusting to this crazy time with grace.

Awesome place, I was there this morning picking up food for my cat and noticed that there was a customer throwing a fit about his credit card not working due to complications with his credit card company. After some time of him arguing over the phone, the sales clerk offered and proceeded to buy the customer's item. Wow! What a great and generous thing to do, not saying she needs to do this for everyone. But she noticed how troubled the gentleman was, and did it as a "keep your chin up" kinda deal. Just wanted to say that I noticed your kindness and that I really appreciate having good people out there.

The staff here are always very helpful and friendly. They offer a wide range of toys and foods for all types of animals. Also, they have healthy alternatives for flea treatments on younger animals. They do tend to have higher prices, but the quality and great staff go along with it.

I really like this shop. It's not the largest place, but they have a fantastic selection of top end foods and treats. I need specialty food for my dog and they were great at helping me out. They also have a really nice section of different toys and natural pet health supplies.

Don and Donna are the best. I am a dog sitter, and they let me bring in my senior dog for a cookie a day. It was the highlite of her day. For my own dogs, they’ll order anything I need . God dog rescue / adoptions, they have kennels , etc that I need for any sized dog ASAP ! The best store in Oregon for dogs of every size and breed!!

Great store with employees that have great knowledge. Far better than any of the chain pet stores. Lost of varieties of food for cats and dogs including kibble and frozen ground raw feeds. Good selection of cbc options for your pets also.

The staff at Healthy Pets is amazing. They are always helpful and kind. Today, I called in a panic because my cat was sick and I couldn't find his carrier. I raced in there and they had a cardboard carrier ready for me at the counter. They are absolutely amazing!

I love the alternative, healthier products. This location is much easier for me to get to than Mud Bay and they carry similar products. The lady gave me free samples of cat food to try with my picky sick cat, which was very generous.

Nice staff, but not very knowledgeable. Product selection is very minimal and a poor use of space. Almost feels empty inside. Also more on the high end. Other Small company stores carry the same products and are more affordable.

I've never met a more helpful and caring staff before! Over time, my dogs have both gone through quite a few dietary challenges due to illness, allergies, and age. Every time I face a new challenge, I go into Healthy Pets NW and the staff is so invested in trying to help me find the right solution, and they often send me home with all sorts of free samples to try (one of the dogs is a picky eater). They have a great selection of healthy food and treats, as well as natural supplements that I can't find elsewhere. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for healthy solutions for their furbabies.
