I was dissatisfied with this store. Walking into the place, I do not know if it’s a store or a little ZOO bird place. The first thing you received its attitude asking about birds being available. I was so excited on coming, seeing what kinds of birds they have. 1st impressions made me feel unwelcome. As I continue looking around in the store for birds, I started getting interesting in some birds to add to my family. Majority of birds have message or tag in front on the cage stating this bird is not for sale. This bird is the owner so it’s not for sale. Went and look another bird and was told oh this birds are baby, and they are not ready. And went to look another bird and was told is not for sale because bird is sick, and last i turn to my last option on a bird and was told finally I could not get the bird or buy it where if I have the money right there I have to come to the store and make more than 5 days in a couple of weeks and by having several visits to the store the bird will bond then you can buy the bird. I explain to staff I have several years of experience with birds. The answer I got was I still need to do visits to the store in order to bond with the bird. I am coming to a store to buy a bird, not to pay visitation to bird. Looking around, I noticed how dirty and messy was the floor and over crowded with cage and a such small place. This is unhealthy for us and a bird in general. Both you and the bird need their own space and there are many reasons to that. Instead of questioning customers how to handle a bird, it should be why all these birds are in a extremely small place, and if the store have just birds on display because they’re baby, sick, or sold (etc.) then it should not be on the view of customers. Birds that are sick or appear stressed should not be together with the healthy. REGARDLESS OF EXPERIENCE OR NOT. Would you like someone passing over their sickness to you? In conclusion it dirty, and you can’t buy a bird, lots of NO’s, and bad service. I feel attitude, and it’s unprofessional.

The birds are well cared for and the staff have a genuine passion for them. They were helpful and knowledgeable. They want the birds to be well cared for in their new homes and take the time to answer questions and concerns.I knew my bird was well cared for by the staff and the breeder by how trusting she was initially. She’s brave, curious, and has amazed me at how quickly she’s adapted.Thank you Bird Hut for my sweet girl!

Great little place! They know their stuff and they sell everything you need from food, to toys and cages. I recently picked up an amazing cockatiel from them and look forward to continuing to get all the bird things I need from them. Their birds are hand fed and tame. I highly recommend them!

What a beautiful experience we had with you all today. I have a heart for rescuing animals and was open to one of your rescues that would need more time and care. We spent hours with you all today so I could really spend time with the birds until I was chosen and a real connection was made. It’s been many years since I had a bird friend and I was a bit rusty. I had lots of questions and needed the whole set up. I was a bit vulnerable and could have been “up saled” but I wasn’t. It was clear from the sales staff to the owner that the focus was on finding the best fit no matter how much time it took. I understand I need to get a vet appointment within 3 days of buying our baby bird and I feel I was given proper instructions when I left. I was told it might take a few days for the adjustment but I wanted you to know that as soon as we got home from our long drive our baby got out and ate and wanted cuddles and to see everyone in the house. Not one bit shy or stressed even after a long drive. You must have really spent a lot of time, love and attention with this baby. At only 6 months old they are well adjusted and full of energy and love. We will be back for nail trims so you will see us again. Thank you for everything and please know we can see that you are caring for older birds that need love too, so thank you for loving them. It’s clearly not about the money. I don’t think anyone can understand unless they spent lots of time there that it takes hours with a baby to have them be this gentle, loving and happy. I’m thrilled to show you pictures of the baby you raised just minutes after getting home and setting up their new home. Much love to you all. It’s a labor of love what you do and not everyone will understand.

What a great place, I took our inherited 27 year old cockatiel in today, he needed a much needed nail trim, the ladies were awesome and quick. They also noticed something in his nose and removed it, he is so happy now. Thanks Bird Hut hubby wants to visit to see all the beautiful birds at your place.

I came Sunday to buy a conure grieving from the sudden loss of our pineapple conure, which was 1 and half year old. We were so attached to our lovely coco, which we had DNA, nail clipped, at your store, she was like our child. We have owned and raised parrots and finches for the past 30 years. I enquired to the girl heavy set with a cap on (backwards) about a Turquoise Conure which was for sale at $750.She responded in a very condescending tone that she could not sell to me any parrot, because I had to talk to Brian the owner. She insinuated I was not worthy to buy a bird nor could I take care of a parrot. I was flabbergasted. My wife was on the phone with me listening to what the girl was saying and could not believe a hourly employee could talk to a customer this way.I have spent several thousand dollars at Bird Hut in the past 8 years and all I wanted was to buy another Conure as we were so heart broken of losing our Coco.I asked why would I need to speak to Brian? She responded that it was normal procedure, Brian was to determine if he could sell the Conure to me.Let me tell you Brian, you don’t need employees who insult your customers. I run a business which is based on customer service and if I had an employee like yours I would be out of business.I have been in your store for 8 years, spending a lot of money, I just wanted to replace the conure I bought a year and a half ago from your store. I did not need an attitude and insult from your employees. I will take my business elsewhere, where employees don’t have an attitude.Brian, I hope for your sake you think about this review and take proper action, you just lost $750.

Our experience here at Bird Hut was pretty awesome. We wanted a store that would help me and my son get back into the bird hobby. We came in a few times to just look around and gain knowledge on which bird would be right for us. The gals working there were always helpful, kind, and very knowledgeable. I also noticed how wonderful and patient they were with my 5yr old son and answering all of his (many) questions. They encouraged us to come in often to bond with our new bird while it was being weaned, also to get some practice holding birds (thanks Buddy the Quaker !) . The store has great selection of accessories, toys, cages and most of all birds! The store also offers boarding at a reasonable price so your bird can be well taken care of while you're out of town. Thank you Bird Hut for making this such a fun process and creating great memories for our family! We will be seeing you again soon!

Great facility. They really care about their birds. They go to great lengths to make sure each one of them goes to an owner/family that can take care of them properly. They encourage interaction with the parrots while you are there.I rehoused a pet cockatiel there and they were very understanding of how difficult it was for me.

This is my new baby coco (coconut) she is young around 6 months and learning everyday! When we got her everyone was very helpful and genuine:) made sure we already had a cage and everything ready to go. The process was friendly and easy and coco loves her new room she is learning to fly very well and loves to fly from one head to the next getting all of the attention she can. She loves to come out and groom herself while chirping away at us, she hasn’t learned any new vocabulary but she has definitely blossomed. Going from a shy little baby to wanting to come out and step up or go on her perch or be held almost all day. She is very social and great with everyone. As of her health she’s great had a clogged nose but a trip to the vet fixed that right up and that was expected. Overall great facility.Enjoyed meeting the larger parrots there as well as we have three of our own:)

Awful customer service, bought a cage for a bird I was trying to buy at this store. Cage was sent home in a few pieces, no box, no instructions etc.after accepting my money for the cage they then proceeded to not allow me to buy the bird as they require you to visit 5 or more times to buy a bird….. Went to a different store and got the Quaker Parrot I was after.

I always buy my birds at The Bird Hut. They have the healthiest birds, and many different types of birds. So many to choose from. I bought 3 Beautiful Lady Gouldian finches, and a very nice small carrying cage to transport them home with me to Central Oregon.I also bought feed and new feed cups for them. They are SO pretty and have the nicest vocalizations.I enjoy all the birds I have purchased from The Bird Hut over the last 30 plus years.I highly recommend this establishmentand all the knowledgeable staff for any thing related to pet birds, big or small.

I had high hopes for this place, drove 5 hours to get a crimson bellied conure. There was a sun conure about 12 weeks old and had the worst splayed legs I’ve ever seen. There was another older one flying around (pictured) and when he landed I noticed he had pretty bad splayed legs as well. The cages were small and didn’t have many toys. I asked if I could get my birds wings clipped since I’m driving so far and just as another safety precaution. He said no because no one was there to help him, I offered to hold and he said no even though I’ve raised many of my own birds. The only worker seemed unknowledgeable in birds and had to chase my bird around for 10 minutes since it kept running from him, which is extremely stressful for the bird. He complained about my carrying cage saying the bars were wider than he liked, I use it for all of my birds from cockatiels to ringnecks and a Quaker with no issues. He then made me take two of the four toys out. He had me buy two pounds of the food they’ve been feeding them and it’s 95% seeds (most safflower) and 5% pellets. I’ve attached my carrying cage and the food as well. A lot of the birds needed their nails and/or beaks done as well. There was also a caique that looked pretty underweight and multiple finches that looked ill. All of the birds in the cages here looked miserable and sad and I went out to the car to cry and then made this review. I DO NOT recommend this place. The breeding birds are in tiny cages and all have stress bars on them. This place needs more room or to minimize the amount of birds they have immediately.

It's honestly a really really awesome place. So many beautiful birds there and wonderful staff. There are some birds that are missing feathers because of natural causes but they are in great care and I'm sure in the next few months they will be full of beautiful feathers. Highly recommend visiting if you can and possibly get yourself a feathered buddy.

Good prices, always have what i need and they are great with my Goffin, Leo . He can be a bit of a trouble maker and likes to land on other visitors heads when he is done getting his nail trims Sometimes The staff is always understanding and humored . I Can not resist visiting with Blue H. Macaw every time too... what a sweet bird. Highly recommend the bird hut and their wonderful staff and owner. Thank you for all you do :)

The smaller birds are kept in unacceptable conditions, and the owner doesn't listen to customer concerns. He is arrogant, so if you happen to buy a sick bird from their establishment, be prepared to make a scene if you want any kind of financial fairness. And you still won't get an apology.

I took my elegant parrot in to have his nails trimmed and two people at the front counter were really sweet, but it was a traumatic time for him. He hates being handled and does not like people. I wish I would have been more assertive in asking them not to handle him more than was necessary. He was terrified and they pulled his blanket off and spent time taking pics and talking loudly at him. One with shorter hair cooed and talked to him after the trim was over and even KISSED HIM ON HIS HEAD. I, his freaking owner, NEVER EVER kiss him because it would be RUDE and scary, plain n simple. I was so shocked and upset but again, my fault I didn't say anything. So yeah, take a basic bird here, but be wary of taking your elegant parrot if you happen to have one. :/Brian, in response, I would think it would be very valuable to train your employees to recognize different types of bird body language. A bird who is obviously scared and nervous should not be subjected to excessive affection.

I love this place, I visit when I can to say hi to all the birds. Staff are super friendly, and knowledgeable. It's a small place, and yes it is loud inside, as expected of a place with so many cool birds. Definitely recommend checking them out. Parking is very, very limited and it is not a wheelchair friendly place. However it's still a must go for me at least.

UPDATED REVIEW: I have gone back a few times since that visit, and feel I need to update my review. Each time, the various employees were pleasant and helpful, and were great at balancing various customers and their bird-related cleaning tasks. Apologies for the original review; I shouldn't have left it after just one bad experience.ORIGINAL REVIEW: I have been considering welcoming a new bird into my family, and had fond memories of this place from when I acquired my lovebird several years ago. I was very disappointed.Never in my life have I felt so unwelcome. While I do not mind that we were not welcomed into the store -- both workers were occupied at the time, and they may not have even heard us over the bird noise -- they did not once ask if we needed any assistance. I shall admit that I do not look like a "responsible bird owner" since I am often mistaken for a teenager, but that does not excuse the atrocious customer service I received. Even after I initiated conversation inquiring about one of the green-cheeks, I was met with a scowl and monosyllabic retort before the woman turned her back on me and left the room.I tried the other employee. To her credit, she asked if I needed any bird seed when I walked up. I replied no, and she lost all interest, shifting to the same bored monosyllabic responses as the other woman. Despite my inquiries, I received no information about the conure I was considering, giving me the feel that I wasn't worth it, or that the smaller birds aren't worth their time. At least she didn't glare at me.I left the store without even buying some toys like I had planned on. I refuse to give business to people who treat me like trash. The birds themselves all seemed happy and healthy, and their cages were clean (Well, as clean as a parrot's cage can ever be, haha). So... one star goes to keeping their birds content. Otherwise, this would only be a one-star review.

I live about 2 hours away from the Bird hut. Made the drive to look at a bird posted on there web site. The shop is clean the cages are clean the birds are well taken care of and the staff and owner are very knowledgeable and pleasant to talk to. I would highly recommend The Bird Hut to anyone. They have a wide variety of just about anything you could need for any size bird you might have. Hands down the best Bird pet shop I’ve ever been to.
