Liz and Grant fill every niche of service to the community through CommunityKindness a driving force to helping those in need no matter who or why through their non-profit. Community kindness is pivotal in the community the forefront of bringing families together, making sureNOBODY is excluded duringThanksgiving/Christmas or any other holiday. Giving folk a warm place to eat and enjoy the company of strangers.Nobody leaves a stranger that's for sure.They have massive support from other businesses and are forever striving to conquer the next adventure to the betterment of the of the community and all living within. No judgement, no questions, just love! That's also shared through the volunteers in the store.Come in a stranger and leave a friend!I wish them all the very best as we go forward into yet another year!

Did you know that the profits from Community Kindness actually DO go back into OUR community. The store has a genuinely fun and inviting atmosphere. There are many different events throughout the year.I love not having to go online, or out of town, to find premium name brands in clothing and accessories. The store has grown so much over the past 5 years and has so many beautiful things for sale. Karaoke rocks on Saturdays!!!

We've been to thrift stores from coast to coast and this one tops the list! Everything in this huge store is clean and beautifully organized and displayed. The selection of English treats were a unique surprise, and it's a rare treat to find such a great selection of men's clothing. Liz is a delightful proprietor and by the time we left we felt as if we'd made a new friend. We can't wait to go back!

Exceptionally clean and well organized thrift store. All of the dishes and knick knacks were clean and the clothes were laundered as well. The staff was friendly and you could tell they enjoyed the work as well as the company of their coworkers. The prices for collectible items (I.e. Fiestaware) were market price or antique store priced, but they were plenty of deals to be had in other departments. I could not quite figure out the organization of the clothing (not by size but by type?), so be prepared for that. We will definitely be stopping by again on our next trip through!

This place is so incredible! This place is very friendly, clean & organized. Lots of goodies to choose from for great prices. New clothing area upstairs is super nice, organized, dressing rooms and a plethora of clothing, shoes, purses, hat's, scarves, jewelry and much more.

Such a beautiful spot in La Grande! Liz was absolutely lovely, and showed me round all the various parts of the shop! Such a unique and homely place! So nice to see a fellow Brit in the US (and to see some Cadbury's chocolate). Thank you for making it such a memorable part of my trip Liz!

What a nice place with such lovely owners. My family wanted to browse a thrift store and I only went in initially out of inquisitiveness because there were so many British flags outside (family history!) It's such a welcoming all inclusive space and we immediately felt at home. The owner Liz was very friendly and we love what she's done for the place and heard more about the store mission.

I love leaving reviews. It gives everyone the opportunity to know about a place before going. Well this place is hands down the most amazing business/thrift store ever! The moment you pull up it feels very welcoming. You can see from the outside looking in, that the store is very organized. I've been to many thrift stores but none like this. It doesn't smell old and musty. Items are strategically set up, clothes are clean smelling, store is lit up nicely and the volunteers have phenomenal customer service. EVERYONE is genuinely smiling, happy and helpful. Liz and Grant really have put some hard work into this establishment and it shows. If you are in the area you NEED TO go here. You will not regret it.

Crazy clean and the owners are so sweet, incredibly eco friendly too!The selection was amazing and the variety in styles was rather shocking for a small town thrift store. I've found shirts with the tags still on too! There is a variety of housewares and other fun decorations that are in perfect condition and are insanely stylish. The prices were perfect.If you're ever thinking about stopping by this place, you should!!

I recently visited Community Kindness. I was so impressed with how clean and well organized the store was. They have quality merchandise. It does not have a typical second hand store feel. I am in a power wheelchair and was able to access all areas of the store easily. The people are friendly, entertaining and extremely helpful. This is also a non-profit store, run by volunteers, that benefits our community in many ways. Please visit this store, donate and get involved - you won't be disappointed.

Warm, kind, and a place for community to count on for clean, quality items offered to us all at affordable prices. If you are looking for a beautiful one of a kind treasure, or even a perfect gift perhaps?From the moment you walk in you know you are in a special place. Not only is it immaculate, it is sprinkled with sunshine by the owner whose name is Liz, who immediately makes you feel comfortable, and assist you with anything you may need help with... and she has a strong husband that’s always by her side and willing to help with those heavy items that you can’t lift yourself to the car! Talk about a team! Boy howdy, these two are a team.I just wanted to say that Community Kindness is a blessing to our Community, and that I even have friends and family from other states that are looking forward while visiting, to stopping by, gathering some one of a kind sunshine from Liz ! And collecting some treasures from a quaint little thrift store, that is a gem, right here in our downtown La Grande, Oregon.If you haven’t gone, you have to go!

when my husband and I first bought our house it came with a cat.. he walked in the door when we first walked in and acted like he owned the place. Turns out he's the neighborhood cat. He stays with us some nights. Anyways to make a long story short. Kevin the cat was eating 5 meals a day. He got so fat that he couldn't clean himself and had gotten so matted. I asked neighbors to stop feeding him and put him on a diet. I also learned that getting some vet attention for the matted hair and an exam was going to be much more then I could afford. But, kevin was in pain. I was told about Community Kindness by the vet and told to give Liz Meyer a call. When i tell you this woman is amazing i am not exaggerating! She immediately started seeing what Community Kindness could do for our sweet Kevin! In the end they help with HALF the vet bill! I expected nothing but hoped for atleast a little help. I did NOT expect them to pay for so much! Myself and Kevin the cat are SO greatful. If she hadn't have helped he would have had to live with the matted hair for much longer. When i spoke to the vet after the appointment, she informed me that the matted hair was pretty bad and was definitely painful. Today Kevin has a fancy new hair cut and hes not in pain as well as a clean bill of health (other then the obesity 🤣) anyways... i just wanted to make sure everyone knows what an amazing thing these people are doing. Everything put into the Community Kindness Thrift Store is being put back into the community in amazing ways. These people are great!

Absolutely hands down the best second hand store. Liz and Grant are so amazing, kind, loving and helpful. You walk into the store and are instantly met with the most upbeat loving personalities.
