This is one of a very few locations where you can order custom made window screens. I was able to order 6 screens for my home and also had them made heavy duty with wire screening that is more resistant to damage by my cat. I now have all my windows screened and will actually be able to have windows open and still be bug free!

This Ace is wonderful! Staff are super knowledgeable, flexible and supportive. Inventory is great - lots of stuff I wish we had in Hawaiʻi! I was building a complex dorm structure, starting with not tools (or plan lol) and the staff here had my back the whole way (project came out great by the way, and even my extremely skeptical son [“WHATʻs that drill for, mom?!”] was stoked!!). Lisa is especially great - she is one of those hardware expert aunties who just knows the answer to everything, where everything is, and how to do just about anything with anything, even when everyone on the outside thinks youʻre just nuts, lol. This store is my new home base in Forest Grove!!

Great selection of bolts (though not all, if you need T bolts or L channel then you'll need to go online). Great tool selection, general garden supply, piping, electrical, pest control, and overall basic hardware needs store. Check store hours, they open later on Sundays.

Avoid if you use a wheelchair. This store is probably breaking multiple ADA and OSHA regulations. while the aisles may be set far enough apart to navigate, every one of them is lined with boxes in the aisles or is obstructed with other shipment that hasnt been stocked properly. Almost knocked an unsecured ladder over on myself even when one employee told me to navigate my chair down the obstructed aisle to grab what I needed. Had to move multiple boxes put of my way just to get by in my chair, only to get a another dismissive employee working the register. Would not recommend and honestly, they're lucky they havent gotten a lawsuit yet.

Been to this place many times with lots positive experiences. Good customer service. Today I brought a brand new lock in with the key stuck inside. They unstuck the key for free and recommended a better quality lock.

Do a little pricing research before you buy anything here. I have noticed this store over prices items at this location.I recently visited this store twice in one week. The first time I was looking at buying a cyclone dust collector. The Newberg store had a price of $44.99, but the Forest Grove store had it for $59.99. I asked the manager about it, and he said each store prices has its own pricing. He was kind enough to tell us he would price match the item.The second time I went to the Forest Grove store, 2 days later, I was after a smart light sensor. I checked the Newberg stores prices it was $59.99. The Forest Grove store had the same item for $77.99. I asked about price matching the item and Michael the manager on duty on Jan 15th, 2023 said, "go buy it from them, we have our own pricing."I don't recommend buying from this store. Their prices seem to want to take advantage of people's pocketbook. This place is not the place with the helpful hardware folk. The manager came off incredibly rude.

I did not go to this store however, This store has discriminated against my boyfriend who is a registered disabled veteran. He had purchased many item's from them in the past. This is the closest hardware store to his home and the manager (after he purchased his item's) told him to not come in again. My boyfriend has to be very frugal and likes to take his time shopping making sure he gets the right item's for the right price. He also knows sometimes quality out weights the cost.My boyfriend walks with a limp because he had a medical grade hip replacement due to an auto accident and he is forgetful because he suffers from PTSD after serving in deployment.How can a store manager discriminate against a man who fought in the Iraq war (9/11), to keep our country safe? Maybe they should put a sign on the front door saying "No Disabled people allowed!" It might get you the customer fan base they want!I will never purchase another item from this store. I will go just down the road to BiMart to get better customer service.

The attendant here was great! I went to Home Depot and Lowes to try and attach a portable dishwasher but was told to go to a plumber. At Ace, the guy helped me rig together several parts so it would fit.

The Ace website said the Forest Grove store was the only store in the area with the Ohio Stoneware crock set I wanted. And at a cheaper price than the online bookstore selling everything under the sun. I got to the store and couldn’t find it. Asked an associate who looked high and low. He had someone else look it up in inventory. He started looking. In the meantime, my wife who was also looking was asked by another associate if he could help her. They found the boxed set in back after a long search. During the wait, my wife was again asked if she needed help. LOL. When I went to pay, it rang up for more than I expected from the website. But never fear the manager came by and fixed the price. I can’t believe all the helpful, attentive people that we encountered. I probably will still shop my local Ace Hardware, but this store definitely has a lot going for it with its good selection and helpful people.

Friendly and helpful staff. The store has a great inventory. Special orders are easy and quick. I would 100% rather shop here than any of the big box hardware stores, it's just an easier and better experience.

Came in to match an old rusty bolt for a project at home. A gentleman came up and asked if I needed help and I told him I was looking to match the bolt. In a moments notice he was retrieving the correct bolt length, size and thread courseness. Amazing service, every time I come in. You've got a fantastic team! This is got to be one of the best Ace hardwares anywhere. I've never seen A better stocked one for sure. There are always plenty of employees to help and they are very knowledgeable. You will probably pay a little more than the Box stores but you are supporting a local owner and The helpful customer service makes it well worth it

Great staff and kind. Manager knows how to treat customers. I wanted a special supply and they didn't have it in stock but the Manger took care with price match on the next better product. Smart business move. Rather than lost a sale to a competitor. The down fall not enough inventory on higher end products.

Ive never had a bad experience with ace hardware. Especially at the Forest Grove store. Except for today. Mondays i guess they have only one manager available to sign off on returns. Also there was only one cashier working with 7 folks in line waiting waiting waiting and waiting. While in line i mentioned to one of the salespeople they should get another cashier up there like they normally do. They did and during my turn i got snubbed by the manager and he never did come up to sign off on my return. So the checker did it anywaysVery annoying. But i guess you don't always get what you want. Hope the stones don't mind me using there phase.🙂

Sadly, my cargo trike was throwing bolts on the way to the doctors office. I needed 3 special sized bolts, and with the help of the staff/crew they got me squared right up, even showed concern that the replacement wasn't a Philips head. Made the purchase and got the repair done when I got home, good as new all thanks going to them!

Worst experience I've ever had! The manager here was very rude and disrespectful towards my friend! He treated her like a common criminal, walked with her harassing her all the way through the store. When she confronted him, he grabbed hold of her and told her to leave. It was very humiliating! He should loose his job for that!

When I am in the neighborhood, I never use another store, this one is family owned and operated and I can't think of better people to do business with. The only reason they didn't get all five stars is the entrance to their lot has been blocked by developers, they really screwed them over on that, city planning should have been more attentive and respectful to this long time business.

Before you leave Forest Grove for a trip to Home Depot or Lowes make this A e Hardware your stop for hardware and Garden needs. The employees are friendly and helpful. The price are comparable and competitive. If you are a Veteran they give discount on purchases.
