Very kind and thorough staff. I am trying to trap a feral cat so that it can get neutered and get shots. I have not been able to trap the cat for two appointments. The staff is very understanding. They were very patient in helping me set the trap. Fantastic experience so far!

We came in and adopted a sweet dog. The staff was so friendly and kind to my young daughter. I can't say that for a lot of places. Not your typical shelter. The employees and volunteers were helpful, patient and informative. The shelter was immaculate. Clean to the bone! Well organized. Appropriate. Safe. Comfortable. They made our experience even better. Now we have our forever girl. ❤

If you want to adopt an animal, I highly, HIGHLY, recommend Greenhill Humane Society. They treat the animals with care, patience, and affection. You can see that all are well taken care of...both mentally and physically. You don't have to worry about accidentally adopting fleas or any other extra "pets", just the one that you feel that connection with and have the opportunity to give them a warm and loving home.I had two cats that developed injection-site sarcomas, and died within months of each other. It was traumatizing, and I didn't think I could ever have another cat. Long story short...I now have three, and they are all from Greenhill. The staff are the absolute best, and incredibly knowledgable. It's not about the breed of the animal, but about their personality. They give you all of the information you ACTUALLY need, such as behavioral issues or lack thereof, if animals are bonded, personalities, needs, etc. All three of my cats are unrelated, but I focused on their personalities with me and each other, and it's like they've always been together and with me. As sad as I was losing my two ancient and precious babies, these new fluffy scoundrels have brought joy back into my life. You do have to wait for your turn, but seriously, that just allows you to have your own private time with the animals to see who you would like to take home. It's totally worth it. All medical is handled, and you receive neutered/spayed munchkins who are ready to live their best lives.

The adoption process was easy and not very expensive. I just don’t believe some of these animals are ready for new homes. I think you should have a bit more information on these sweet pets so the new owners know what they’re up against.

Adopted a cat there last weekend and had a great experience with Devon, Emmalie, Anita & Emma! They each helped with a specific part of the process and did a great job! Couldn't be happier with my new kitten or my experience with these great folks out there!

I am so unbelievably heartbroken. I am having to rehome a dog that I feel so guilty about, because greenhill decided to lie to us about the issues the dog had. They claim that the previous owners lied to them, but there is no logical way that greenhill was not aware of how insanely reactive this dog is. he can't even hear a dog without having a flip out, and i was hearing dogs even standing in the lobby! he was very anxious during the first meeting we had and i should have noticed it then, but i just blamed it on new people's nerves. they told us he was not cat aggressive, even tho he IS. (we have four btw, this is exactly why we have to rehome him) they told us he was only reactive to dogs within maybe 20 feet, like i said, he can't even hear a dog without barking and running around like crazy. we were not made aware he has maior anxiety, or allergies, or anything of the sort! we were not at all informed!!!

They do the best they can to save as many pets as possible. I appreciate their services and adopt from them whenever I can. So far I have been more than pleased with every experience... we just got our 4th adoption from them. They also could use and always appreciate any donations and volunteers.

Greenhill offers a service whereby they will take custody of the pets of people who are deceased or terminally ill so that the pet owner doesn’t have to worry about what will happen to their fur babies at the end of life. Please consider donating to them for this and all the services they provide.

I was at Greenhill today checking out dogs. The dogs they care for live better than many of the people in Lane County, warms the heart.Greenhill is a blessing.

So in shock this place is so deceiving. We adopted a cat saterday and it was dead Sunday morning. We took to a vet then back to Greenhill. They won't refund our $105 adoption fee. Plus all the money we spent getting supplies. It was for my 81 yr old mother that lost 2 dogs this tore her up. You people are in it just for the money. Never again will I adopt !!! You make me sick. Oh and they go on to lie about toxins in our house and it's our fault i guess the cat got in a drawer and took the cap off the lid and ate some toxic mediacation.good one your pathetic.

The pet food pantry gave me false information and gave me food that my pets are allergic to regardless of me calling them to ensure that they had food that I could get my animals . They didn't give me the food I requested and when I called they told me that "obviously this service probably isn't right for me." When they kept giving me false information the whole time. And I made the order in mid-December and they gave it to me on the 29th and they couldn't even make sure it had food that my dog's could eat or at the very least called me to let me know I was wasting my time.

Greenville Humane Society is an amazing Animal Shelter that is a benefit to Eugene. All animals deserve loving and safe homes and Greenhill makes that possible. My neighbors adopted all four of their cats here and they all have loving personalities. You can donate medication that will be put to good use. The staff cares for and respects animals and I appreciate their dedication.

Very nice people and place to look for a pet that needs a loving home! They explain about each pet and what may be considered as issues you might not understand or want in each one you choose. They take whatever time you need to make a decision and they try to match you well with the pets you'd like to meet!

My dog escaped from her halter on May 12th at the Gettings Creek rest area. The OSP officer that found her turned her into Greenhill they immediately posted a found dog on their page. I was able to go get her as soon as I saw the posting. I want to thank them and the officer.

I was here on 4-2-24. I understand the policy but the reasoning doesn't make sense since your dogs are far MORE stressed than other Humane Societies I have been to. Strange to me that you think by allowing no one on your floor no one will notice your dogs are MORE ANXIOUS. I hope you decide to go back to the drawing board. I have fostered rescue dogs from California for over 12 years so yes I have a lot of dog knowledge when it comes to this environment. And have been inside many CA shelters, this was no different than that.

Awesome, experience, very nice and helpful staff, and they are a life saver when money is short and can't afford to buy dog or cat food. It is just sad to see so many animals needing a home and love.

They really dont want to expect food donating in cans with experiration date of 5 24. You cannot view animals that are up for adoption need to make appointments. Did not get good feeling. I will not help Greenhill even when they have a fundraiser. They are better places to help animals.

The staff were very friendly and the animals are well cared for. It was good to see that they have separate rooms for animals to have less stimulation as they adjust to their new circumstances. The process was a bit time consuming due to COVID restrictions, as waiting for your new furever pet is hard.We adopted Coco and she is a delight; friendly, active, and a general handful! The staff gave really good instructions on how to introduce her to Charlie, our established kitty. It eased the anxiety and allowed them to become play mates.Thank you for the wonderful experience.

Here is where I adopted my two cats. They have a very nice building and seem to care about their pets. The reason I took one star off is because I felt pressured into an adoption. We took a stray cat to them. They revealed he had health issues that would be deadly and that if we didn’t adopt him, they would put him down. We adopted him (and we’re so happy), but all the vets he’s been to said he’s very healthy and will live a long life 🤷🏻♀️

I lost my precious little canine angel, so donated her leftover food and little belongings to Greenhill. I was (am) broken-hearted, and they couldn't have been kinder.

Greenhill is not flexible on their policy to spay/neuter animals who are too young to have those procedures done safely and without long-term consequences, so I would not work with them and I'd recommend others think twice before adopting puppies here. I spoke with someone today about this and found her to be kind and I think she's doing the best she can, and this is maybe just outside of her control. The policy at the shelter level should be corrected in order to preserve pet health and lower the chances of negative health outcomes for puppies who end up here.I understand this is a difference of priorities. Greenhill is prioritizing their mission to cut down on pet over-population over individual pet health. We're on the same team here. I am sympathetic toward that mission and also wish that there were not unwanted/stray dogs, but the solution to a compromise between the two values is simple. Set future spay/neuter appointments and hold owners liable to make those appointments. I'd be happy to pay a deposit to be returned at the appointment even. This sort of thing has been done with other humane societies and I find it fair and meets both goals easily. That they are unwilling to be flexible in these situations is cruel and inhumane.I personally know the heartbreak of a cancer diagnosis for a dog and we would like to avoid that in the future. Spaying/neutering before a dog is fully developed unfortunately raises that risk according to the AAHA, AKC, and others. While I declined to get a puppy for that reason from Greenhill, it saddens me to think that the outcome for the dog is the same since she's undergoing a spay procedure at 2 months for another owner. She was a sweet girl and deserves a full, happy, healthy life and it seems like puppies at Greenhill are not in an optimized situation to get their best shot at that. When visiting in person, a handler did confidently claim that these procedures at an early age were not harmful to the dogs. Please recognize this as misinformation if you are told the same thing and contact your vet or a pet organization you trust to confirm.
