I came on a spur of the moment trip with my kids for my sons birthday, the pool is disgusting it's greener than a fish pond, the staff that checked us in only checked us in for 1 night instead of 2, so I had to go ask for fresh towels and if our room was going to be cleaned. It was not. I have a baby so I do not like to leave the floor he plays on unkept for long. The manager was outside the door(leaning against it) smoking when we returned from the store. My children had to walk through the smoke to get inside!! I have stayed in many hotels on many trips and this is by far the worst experience I've had. I certainly was hoping for a better stay in a more reputable hotel. Guess this one just needs better management. We will be moving to a hotel with a working pool and competent staff. Don't waste your time with this one until the management is better. Sadly subpar experience.Rooms: Dirty rooms!!! They do not come in and clean your room an refresh your towels.

Maps says it's a 2 star but it might as well be a 3 star - rooms were clean & modern, plenty of outlets & USB ports, suite was really nice with a sofa bed. Breakfast was okay; standard continental breakfast, nothing noteworthy but at the same time ain't bad. Overall very satisfied, would stay here & other Holiday Inn Expresses again.Rooms: Suite comes with a sofa with a fold out sofa bedTV has HDMI ports to use whatever you want on the TVWalkability: Right next to Walmart & Shawnee MallFood & drinks: The Garage is nearby & they have awesome foodNoteworthy details: Outdoor pool but may be closed due to the season

Never had to spend Thanksgiving in a hotel before. However, because of the holiday, my expectations for service, etc. were not very high. The staff that is on duty during the holiday far exceeded those expectations. The night desk clerk was very hospitable and accommodating. Rita provided a breakfast that went above and beyond. Every countertop and table was kept clean. Breakfast items were well stocked. Good job!

Our little family LOVED our stay at this hotel! We will definitely be back again soon. The breakfast was best that I have ever had at any hotel!! I Loved the variety of it all. The kind lady who was in charge of the breakfast was very sweet and kind to everyone, and very cheerful to be around! My little girl loved her! Hotel was clean, staff friendly.Rooms: Room was very comfortable. It smelled just a little smoky, but over all was very niceFood & drinks: Food and drinks were AMAZING! I loved that there was more healthy options besides just breakfast cereal.

The hotels elevator was broken and we were put in the third floor. We were offered no compensation via points or anything. Customer service was horrible. Towels and sheets were very dingy and cleaning staff was told to clean our room yet our room was not cleaned. We planned to stay for three nights but checked out in two because I couldn’t take another night in the hotel.Will never stay at that particular hotel again

The pool was gross even though we seen a man clean it that morning. The water level on the hot tub was so low the filtration system wasn't even working. The rooms were clean however when we asked the maid not to forget to restock our rooms because we stayed two nights, she forgot. There were experiencing elevator issues during our short stay. Our key cards would just suddenly have to be rekeyed in the middle of the evening, only hours after we had received.However the desk professional tried to get us through as nice and quickly as possible.The best thing I can say is that the breakfast was great. Many selections and the ability to make fresh pancakes while you watch. The cinnamon rolls were delicious. Cereal, fruit and milk along with juice of your choice.

Hotel had 4 stars so we felt it would be a good choice. Wrong. Service was good but the room was dirty. Carpet was dirty with several hair balls on the floor from previous occupants. Trash cans overflowing at the elevators, no toilet paper or tissue in the room. The bathroom floor was dirty. Paid $193.00 for the room. If you can find another hotel I'd pass this one by. Paid too much for poor housekeeping. I did tell the desk person who seemed sympathetic.

Was informed of cancellation due to FEMA rooms extending stay. Not a big deal, I asked representative on phone what other options available, stated double queen was available. Fantastic what do I need to do, representative stated just arrive with id and cc upon arrival we will take care of you. I reached out again after 2pm when next shift came on, stated room was not a available, I shared earlier conversation, representative asked my name and stated yes we have your reservation. Upon arrival no room was available and person working the desk was clueless to discussion I had with him an hour prior and pretty much told me to kick rocks. Luckily Comfort Inn had availability and better service. Comfort also has free breakfast.

This is the best hotel in Shawnee! We’ve stayed a various ones here for large family gatherings and this one is by far the best. Has comfy beds (no, seriously, didn’t wake up with any back or neck pain), very sweet and nice staff, and the breakfast is delicious and you have a large variety to chose from! The breakfast attendent who worked in the morning on 02/22/23 is such a sweetheart, so kind, and very attentive! Any requests we had from towels & wash rags to water, they were happy to help and quick with it too! Will definitely be staying here from here on out when we visit. Thank you Holiday Inn Express staff in Shawnee for a wonderful visit!

They didn’t have any but that girl working there around 11pm Sunday nite charged my card $6.She was busy playing on her phone to even look up.I mentioned to her if I was gonna get fat it was gonna be on M&M’S.

Disgusting. I rented 6 rooms for myself and my friends. The first room that one of my buddies was given was occupied by a naked man. The pool was green, and bugs covered the top of the water. The strainer was full of hundreds of crickets, peanuts, and trash. The rooms were infested with crickets. The bathroom had body hair from the previous people who stayed in the room. The gym floor is lifting up (trip hazard), the entryway by the front desk has water damage, and the paint is peeling from the ceiling and walls. The hallways had dead cricket's throughout. I will never stay here again, nor will I book this hotel for anyone after this. If I could give negative stars, I would.

Had the Grand been available, we would have stayed there. We booked this hoping it would be a decent place to stay but sadly it was a poor choice. They informed us upon arrival (booked ahead and had already paid) that there would be no room service for cleanings during our 4 day stay. We had 4 people we had booked the room for and when we went into the room, we found 3 bath towels and two wash clothes. We requested more and were told that they didn’t have any towels to give us but that when they got the laundry done they would bring us some. They did get us another towel and a couple wash clothes later that evening. We ran out of toilet paper and tissues during our stay and since there were no daily cleanings, we had to go and request more at the desk to go bring to our rooms. If you called and asked for anything, they told you to come to the desk to get it. We ended up going and getting towels from the desk every day but it’s much nicer to stay at a hotel that does daily service when requested. We requested it here and they told us that due to Covid policies they no longer provided daily cleanings. It’s odd since basically all Covid policies at all other hotels have been taken away and they had no other covid police’s in place since it’s 2023 already! The smell of bleach in the pool was so strong that none of us could stand to be in it and the hot tub was full of cold water. The breakfast was a typical hotel breakfast…nothing outstanding but nothing bad either. The beds were good and the room was big since we stayed in the two queen room with a pull out sofa. The smell in the lobby was really bad and the hotels had a dirty smell continually. The price of the hotel was way more than a hotel minus room cleanings should be. Maybe if they cleaned more the whole place would smell better. It was a very disappointing stay. For sure the worst Holiday Inn I’ve ever been in.

I have stayed at this location on three separate occasions over the last two months, one of them being a month long stay. When housekeeping is requested, they do a great job, and the staff that I have dealt with has been amazing. The manager Ashley has been very accommodating for any requests, Jennifer is always helpful, including heading off a billing error prior to my check out and Summer has bean very helpful when it comes to anything needed especially last minute room extension as well as new last minute reservations, just make sure that she does not catch you with glass in the pool area. The reason for the four star review rather than five stars is that for a period of time the laundry facility was not open, at lest one of the ice makers is broken and on the current stay that I am on, the elevator is down. Kudos to the staff for the fantastic job that they do, I just hope that they are able to provide the amenities that guests use more regularly in the future. The staff defiantly makes up for the shortcomings of the facility. I will defiantly stay here again as long as they keep up the fantastic customer service.

I was only here to visit a relative but from what I seen an they told me the coffee pot didnt work they had been there 2 days out of the 5 there staying an housekeeping hadn't been there to atleast bump the trash an give her fresh linen or towels or vacuumed an you could see dead an alive crickets all over the room an the guy that works the desk in the evening acts like your putting him out if you ask any questions maybe if he would get the heck off his cell phone he might do something. An the continental breakfast was horrible. I would think for the price they would try a little harder shame on you Holiday Inn Express!!Walkability: Several stores an restaurants near by

She is a great example of superior customer service. My only critique is that the shower didn’t drain well but the water pressure was amazing.

Another hard review for me because there were parts of this stay that have been great and other parts that have not. I want to start out by saying the customer service I've received from Jennifer at the front desk was stellar! She was a rockstar! I also like the size of the room... It is huge and comfortable. Now the downside... I reserved a family suite and unfortunately out of the ones that were available, one had to be given awayto another family, the second one the air conditioning was broken and the last one available was on an upper floor and the elevator was broken. Jennifer figured out a solution that I was satisfied with. I went down later to check out their convenience options and found a completely bare freezer and a wall of a few candy bars. Disappointing in lots of areas but again customer service definitely offset the negatives.

All staff (front desk, kitchen, housekeeping, maintenance) were ALL very nice and professional! We stay in Shawnee 6-8 weekends a year and have stayed at multiple hotels. This one has far exceeded our expectations! Beds were comfortable. Shower was hot with good water pressure. Good selection of breakfast food. Place was clean. Room had safe, mini fridge, and microwave. Was impressed both hot tub and pool had handicap chairs! The only complaints would be there wasn’t a do not disturb placard in the room to use and the coffee wasn’t very good. (Coffee would’ve been better if there had been a selection of flavored creamer). The ice machine on the 4th floor was out of order, but didn’t effect our stay. I would highly recommend this place! We’ll definitely stay there again in the future. I did not meet one employee there that wasn’t very friendly!! (Cannot say the same for some of the other places we’ve stayed). Thank you all for making this a great stay!! You’re a great bunch!

The hotel overbooked 2 queen rooms on a group reservation for a softball team, although they tried to make it right it was not enough. My bathroom floor was so sticky, I took a washcloth and cleaned it and it was black by the time I was done. Our room smelled like pickles and there was garbage/food on the floor. The pool has been broken since winter and they didn’t care to tell us in advance. It was a fight daily to get clean towels, the guest laundry did not work and our AC stopped working, we had to be moved to our 3rd room for a 3 night stay. There were moldy danishes for breakfast. They then charged me for a 2 queen room when they could only give me a king. I will never stay here again, it was awful.
