Good selection of stuff and the prices are very competitive-often less than the big box stores. Helpful staff. Most raw construction stuff must be picked up in the back which is a slight inconvenience, but they help load so it's makes up for it. Biggest issue is not being able to see the building materials and their prices. You have to ask.

I used to love Fox Bldg Supply. Bad experience today with a return. Check-out person was very nice and helpful, but policy was to take a 20% restock fee after 45 days (long story). After talking to a manager, he couldn't do anything because of "store policy" and had no desire to apologize. So much for small town benefits. Items were unopened and still had price tags. They were purchased this summer.All I can say is buy there if you want but don't wait to see if you'll need it without marking your calendar. Nowadays there can be lots of wait time between projects if you can't "do-it-yourself".I have spent a lot of money there but I won't go back the way this was handled. That won't put them out of business, but I'll feel better about sticking with my principles...all this over $30. I went and bought 5 gallons of paint elsewhere, happily paying more for better paint at a business that appreciates their customers.

Sold me a tree pruner that broke the very first time I used it and refused to take it back. The manager was very unhelpful. Just said sorry for your luck. Would not recommend to anyone. Very poor customer service. I've gone back and saw signs about not accepting items that they've discontinued. So be aware and only buy things you know will be in stock.

Well stocked store and very helpful staff. Ive seen negative reviews about prices being to high or staff being unhelpfull, neither are true. The prices are comparable to home depot or lowes (prices are high everywhere unfortunately) and the staff is very helpfull. Try getting help loading (or finding a staff member for that matter) at home depot. Im in this store 3-4 times a week and ive never had a bad expierence.

Great lumber and hardware selection as well as lawn and garden goodies. Very reasonable prices and very friendly and knowledgeable employee's. A refreshing difference from the " boxer stores"!! I bought a new hot water heater $65.00 cheaper than Lowe's or Home Depot stocked. And it was a name brand unit. I'm super impressed !

Never will again ship at this store. I’m a 100 disabled Veteran and was denied the discount they have posted up at every register they honor veteran discounts. Wrong showed my military I’d, veterans card and was denied.Never again and the manager was rude. Fire him

The store is organized. The staff are nice. The way they have tape down at the registers is a little complicated - having two seperate lines for each register. Nice store though - for gardening supplies, plumbing, carpet and vinyl. Almost like a miniature home depot.

I paid 40 dollars for delivery of only 1 mile. They refused to call me and would not set it on the deck which is where it needs to be installed. Now I can’t install the hot water heater because I am not strong enough to move it up 4 steps. I can’t believe they made me pay 40 dollars and not deliver it to where I can’t install it now.

Very nice yard. Inside everything a builder needs and hardware that is hard to get anywhere. They still have the old school things not much different from years gone by, along with the new that has been as current as it can get. The drive through lumber buildings are very nice in protection from heat and rain for the ease of your loading with plenty of yard help to get you loaded. Very nice run yard. After spending 3k i needed more supplies but they can't take payment over the phone and i live 50 miles away and was paying another 400 for supplies and delivery charge. Website says closes at 7pm get there at 606pm and they are closed. No one mentioned seasonal hours whe talking to them on the phone.

I work for a livin. I make decent money. I go in this place and have associates follow me around. I don't care for that. Having someone come up and ask me if I need help every 1.5 minutes is quite irritating. Look I understand loss prevention and theft are important. But what am I going to steal in a tight pare of wranglers and a tucked in shirt that fit. Come on. Leave me alone. Great product though. The lumber is the best. This rating is for the harassing nature of the environment.

This places is consistently overpriced, but shop local so it’s expected. But the customer service is ALWAYS Slow, and the cashiers are rude. Half the time they’re on their phones or eating something while customers wait on them to check out.

Update I was there a few days ago and the staff a young girl in plumbing was still unable to help me she was more interested in stocking the items on pegs. So I went and found the older female staff member and we came to a solution that my pipe needed to go to Locke because Fox's didn't carry the size needed. Funny thing neither did Locke. My stars for them went from 2 to a 4 because of the older generation knowledgeable customer service. Yes Fox has a few problems but keep going for the challenge and as a captive audience because not many places to go to get lumber.Not much interaction with staff seeing if customers are finding everything they needed.

Convenient to have if you need something immediately but the pricing is high compared to the internet. My example a garbage disposal the three they had displayed in the store, Amazon had the exact same three model numbers, and all three were exactly $20 higher at Fox's then on Amazon.

These guys wont run when they see a customer like alot of Lowe's employees do. They were helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly, which is all I can expect from someone that works at a hardware/building material store. I ordered some lumber and it was delivered the very next day. But they did make a mistake on the order and brought single well cinder blocks, the kind no one ever uses, instead of the double well cinder blocks that I ordered. At first the guy in charge that delivered the goods tried to say I ordered single well cinder blocks, that he was standing right there when i ordered them, then when I said "no I did not" he looked at the invoice and rolled his head back in defeat. And I'm glad it ended there. Screwing up an order and trying to convince the customer that that's what they ordered because the employee cant own up to making a totally careless mistake due to total laziness is the bottom of the barrel of business practices. But thankfully he had the invoice handy so there was no angry outbursts with me asking him if hes calling me a liar in my own backyard because he cant own up to not doing his job and making sure his subordinate grabbed the right items by double checking the invoice before leaving the lumber yars, and then calling the supervisors back at the lumber yard and giving them a piece of my mind, which they in turn would have given him a piece of their mind for screwing up. They sent one employee with the cinder blocks I ordered. The guy in charge didn't come back with him, and probably blamed his subordinate for the whole thing. On second thought I'm taking off 3 stars for that incident. The materials were good quality for the price, and delivery only costed 65 bucks and I live 35 miles away from altus where home depot wont deliver to. Other than that incident I was happy with the services I paid for. But that incident was a pretty big deal.
