We took our kitten to get spayed and she was acting peculiar several months later. Dr. Trouten said this could be due to surgery, then a few months a later the young cat delivered 2 kittens!! He was telling me it's impossible for a spayed cat to have kittens and in complete denial. Now avoiding my calls. All we want is a refund and help $$ with spaying the kittens. We are also concerned the momma who already had surgery, albeit botched, will have issues when having another procedure to spay her. Filing a complaint with state medical board and hoping we can resolve but this has been a nightmare

Schedule a visit for shot for our 7month old St Bernard puppies. We waited for 30 min. Until someone actually acknowledged us. We didn't feel welcomed at all. Out puppies where barking when they finally saw the nurse. No greeting what so ever to our pups. That's all they wanted was to be petted. The Dr. Came out and with no introduction what so ever told us to go wait in our car. We took the pups back to the car and he rudely followed us emphasizing do not let them out the car. Omg we decided to leave. Terrible experience out puppies 😢 don't bite they are babies how are you a veterinarian and still have this attitude towards puppies.

I'd give the place a zero if I could. Dog was having a seizure or something, no answer on the phone. Lot not even plowed and nobody there. Update your hours of operation. It says 24 hours. Clearly not.

We waited 45 minutes at another vet just to be turned away when we were next in line because they were closing. I called lloyd road animal hospital to find out they were also closed but the Dr. Told me to bring her up. She had a nail curled up and digging into her paw pad causing her pain. He was so sweet and gentle with her. Thank you so much for staying and helping my pup out. We will definitly be returning for future vet visits!

I called to see if I could bring my puppy of 5 weeks who has started having seizures showing signs of fading puppy syndrome /, Herpavirus and the person respoded with you can bring him in if you wanna take that chance he may end up dying anyway . This is all over the phone I am Disgusted ! No hope I will never bring any of my pits here smh find a new line of work !

I've been seeing Dr. Trouten for my fur baby for a few years now! I highly recommend him! He's very knowledgeable! I love how personal it is, he takes his time with you and your fur baby. Its not a get in and get out he takes his time like a true doc should! His prices are very reasonable! I've never met a vet that truly cares about all his patients like he does. I seen him tonight and his words stuck in my mind "I love being a vet because there is no better feeling of helping animals live a healthy life" Dr. Trouten has almost 50 years of experience his knowledge shows it! I couldnt be more grateful for the services he has provided us!!!

I waited outside for two hours because they didn’t communicate that there was a surgery and push all appointments up. I was told that my kitten was not more important than a animal getting surgery. When all I wanted to know was a time to come and get the prescription food they didn’t give me a prescription for. Just told me to be ready to debate with the PetSmart and Petco workings about it needing a prescription to even buy it. The vet himself is very unprofessional and disrespectful. I don’t advise going here.

It's not often that you come across a person as amazing as Dr. Trouten. My family had an emergency with our cat early on a Sunday. Dr. Trouten answered his phone and agreed to meet us at the clinic even though they weren't open. Thank god he was there to help because my cat's wound was severe and we were about a day away from him losing his tail. 2.5 hours and a minor surgery later we had a cat who was healing and stitched up perfectly. He even called in help (she was amazing!). We are overwhelmed by the generosity shown to us. He has customers for life in us and I'll always be an advocate. Absolutely wonderful people here. Thank you!

I took my 13 year old dog, Coco there because he was struggling to breathe. Dr. Trouten was very honest and professional. He even told me to call back in a couple hours to let him know how Coco was doing. You can tell that the staff's true focus is caring for the animals compared to other places that only care to rack up your vet bill. I've been to several different vets, and I can say I found a permanent one this time.

I love this vet clinic. I've been going here all my life and my family has been lifetime customers. Dr Trouten is very caring, and his front desk technician is very sweet and kind. The prices are affordable without diminishing the service at all.

The best people I have ever met work here. They truly care about your animal as if it is their own and they try to work out the best payment they can for you. Growing up I always thought taking your animal to a vet meant thousands of dollars (which some places can) but not here. They care. They help!

Had an emergency and he had offered to come in a little earlier so we could see him the same day. If you call him you may think you woke him up or bothered him in some way- you didn't. He doesn't hear that well with his cell phone and he's naturally a quiet guy. Very professional and cares about the pets comfort and health. His office is a little "old school" but functions well.

Years ago, this was the place to go for value. It’s not pretty, but it was more affordable AT THAT TIME. Now, the place still isn’t pretty, the surgery room is filthy, and the archaic billing process had the doctor changing amount due THREE times while we waited to put our dog to sleep. Upon injection of three syringes worth of chemical, he said “This is enough to kill a horse”. REALLY? A horrible experience. She weighed 50 Lbs. When we picked up her ashes (no call that they were ready for pickup), the receipt from crematory read 65 Lbs (assuming his provided detail $$$)He’s a racket and is one of them who is more of a money making business rather than a compassionate doctor. He charged $150 more to euthanize a dog that weighed less than the most recent we had euthanized in Willoughby.NOT RECOMMENDED

I was desperate to find a caring personal veterinarian to take care of my ailing cat. Dr. Troutan opened his clinic on a saturday morning, outside of his business hour and took time to examine my pet and explain what was needed. He kept my cat overnight and called me early sunday morning to have me return to the office to check on my cat. Dr. Troutan is a gentle caring Dr. I recommend him to anyone who loves a 4 legged member of your family.

My family have been clients at Lloyd Road Animal Hospital for more than a decade. From aggressive to shy to overly friendly dogs, Dr. Trouten has handled them with professionalism and ease. Dr. Trouten has provided a wide range of services including general care, surgery, and boarding. It's a zero frills operation (so if that's your thing, look elsewhere), but the honest, reasonable opinion and extremely fair pricing are unmatched. He is truly in the business for his love of animals and veterinary science. His wife does have a practice in Euclid where you can get more extensive treatment if needed. Trouten has answered calls on holidays, nights, and weekends. He even made a house visit when my dog ripped out his sutures and was bleeding too much to put in a car. He goes the extra mile for his patients and i highly recommend to everyone.

Dr. Troutman is an amazing vet and cares deeply for animals! He came in on a holiday because my dog was sick and I was worried. He also only charges the necessary amount too. I wanted to get my dogs teeth cleaned and went to a vet office in Erie who wanted to charge me $850 for a cleaning and 5 teeth extractions (but don't worry I would get a bunch of stuff "on the house"). I called Dr. Troutman and he charged me $150 as a baseline and with 5 extractions it cost me $220. It's a small shop so it's not glamarous, but for the quality we received and the cost of that quality I am greatly satisfied!

I discovered an abcess on dog's neck Saturday night. I took a shot and called 5he clinic and the Dr just so happened to be there . He agreed to meet me the next day early afternoon. As agreed he met me , treated my dog , gave her prescribed medications, even clipped her nails . Best of all he didn't charge me an arm and a leg for an "emergency Sunday" visit like the rest of these clinics do. Very fair and much appreciated. Thank you . We will be back .

Dr. Trouten is one of the best veterinarians in Northeast Ohio. My kitten was outside and I heard a yip. I brought her inside and within minutes, her tongue was hanging out of her mouth and she was listless. I called Dr. Trouten immediately this particular Sunday. He told us to bring her in and he would meet us there because he was at home. We arrived. Dr. Trouten was there waiting for us. He found the infection, lanced it and put her on an antibiotic. The fee was minimal. My kitten was back to her normal behavior within 15 minutes.We took our dog to Dr. Trouten because she was waking up in the middle of the night to scratch. He gave us an appointment that same day, told me over the phone the cost and explained if lab work would be required how much more in addition it would cost. He diagnosed the problem, gave the dog an injection of an antibiotic and something else in it to relieve the itching. He thoroughly explained to us how to continue to treat the problem with his prescription remedies. The amount that we paid was exactly the amount that he quoted us over the phone. Our dog's problem was taken care of and we knew she was happy.If you need a veterinarian who accurately diagnosis, gives great bedside manners to your animal because he genuinely cares about them, extends fair pricing and keeps his word about it, provides a clean environment as possible (even when the building and premises was under construction), and thoroughly explains the treatment plan and why thus, making sure you understand all home care procedures to follow regarding medications, ect. for your pet, then you have found the right veterinarian for your pet. Consider yourself blessed. Dr. Trouten has been treating animals for over 35 years. He knows what he is doing and he does it real well.

My cat Milo was in here and let me tell you Dr was amezing. Got him stiched up in no time. He even made my cat passport 🤷🏻‍♂️ So he can travel. Over 30+ years with Dr Trouten. He's let me in when my rat terrier had a vessel bit by our other dog-knocking on his door after hours!!!---He treated a bad case of worms which another vet took 3x and many $$ --went to Dr Trouten- and he did it the first try! Our old rescue dog was leaking urine-(we'd promised to feed only grain free)-Dr Trouten said try something cheap-cause grain free has too much protein for some dogs--which creates too much urine!! --voila!!!!!-- fine now over a year!!! no leaking!! Thanks Dr. Trouten! He's got lots of info from years of experience!! Truly cares about the animals and a super guy!

My cat had an issue with her tail,after going to emergency clinic they diagnosed and told me what needed my vet was unable to see me ( that a whole other thing ) so I called around Dr.trouten saw me right away and took care of my cat's needs He did amazing job and im so grateful he was able to take care of her...Thank you she is doing great
