Large selection of dry goods, and a decent sized deli, bakery, produce, meats, and dairy selections. The check-outs usually have no more than two customers at a time, and if they get busy, employees will rush over to open registers. Also, if you need shopping assistance, they are always willing to help. I haven't purchased any wine or beer here, bit they have a pretty big selection o those, as well. A great place to shop, especially if you'rw tired of giving Walmart your money.

Typical Small Town Grocery Store. Friendly service, Fair Prices. I really especially like this store's Wine and Liquor Selection, something for everyone and always lots of specials!

Local market with nice selection and decent prices. Good vegetable and fruit section. Friendly checkouts instead of having to do it yourself.

Terrible, they're gouging the customers like crazy. I've never seen it this bad ever here. Some of the food items I've seen are double the price of other stores. Pepsi products are priced as a joke. $6.49 + for a 6-pack of bottles. The slogan "Our Family", I think not! What happened to the meat department? The cuts of meat look terrible. Some of the meat I've never seen cut that way. Some of the packages looked like scraps left over and put into a package.

Cheifs is a staple in Wauseon, I enjoy the variety and it's easy to get in and out. The staff is always kind and helpful.

Such a great store to shop at. Has a much more personable feel than the bigger grocery stores. Much better produce, and friendly staff. Its a relaxing place to get your grocery shopping done. The prices may be a little higher, but its worth it to not have to deal with the uncivilized shoppers at walmart right down the street.

Update to original post.It's a shame how a business can decline so quickly. I originally gave a 4 star rating because of the lack of customer service, but now that just seems to be, just a small portion of a bigger problem. Product availability in the deli and produce areas on several occasions has been lousy. Not to mention outdated meats in the coolers. Makes me wonder, especially when you bring it to the attention of the courtesy counters personel and ask to speak to management, about the problems and your met with indifference and rude behavior. Is it a lack of experienced management or poor management? Unfortunately these companies can't keep using the excuse of not having adequate staffing levels. Or will this just end up being another empty storefront and has been company?

Yay! They had my horseradish cheese. Lol. The Deli lady was really sweet and helpful. The store was nice and clean as was the parking lot. Great shopping trip for first time going there since moving to Wauseo, Ohio Thank you Chief Supermarket.

They have a really good layout of the store and is super clean. The employees are friendly and polite. All the produce and meat looked fresh.They have a deli i like their sandwich spread, rotisserie chicken and their potato salad among other dishes and they have a bakery they make the best carrot cake! and doughnuts, cookies, pies it's all delicious. They do have good sales every week.

I LOVE Chiefs Supermarket. Just great produce, excellent meat selection. It's just a nice store. Price's are a little higher than your big chain stores but not by much. Totally worth it and if you shop their sales you'll get items cheaper than most other places. My new favorite grocery store for sure!

Good sale prices on produce, select cereal and some deli. Nice to see gluten free sections singled out. Cashier opened up another lane quickly as line got longer. Would like more organic options and ability to slice deli meat/cheese on site.

Love the cupcakes. Bought a yellow cake with chocolate buttercream frosting really great have not seen it in store since.so disappointing. Rotesirre chicken are very moist.minute steaks are very large patties and worth the money.love off the bone deli ham .

I try to here but prices way, way higher than other places. For instance 6 pack of Pepsi products in 16.9 FL. Oz. is $3.42 at Wal-Mart's and Chief wants $7.99. Lunchables are twice as high as Wal-Mart. Is Chief a convenience store or a grocery store. Their moto "Our Family" a license to rob there customers. I try to support them by buying local but I guess I'll have to go elsewhere to shop.

I live out of state. A long way out of state. I asked the cashier if I could get the discount. She wanted me to fill out a loyalty application. I repeated and showed my out of state driver's license and said I live far out of state, could I have the sale price. Again she said that I should fill out the loyalty application. I gave up and just paid full price. I travel a lot and have never had to sign up for a loyalty program in a place where I didn't live in order to get the sale price. 🙄

Was very angry that after trying to shop on a budget, for 35 minutes, at a store I am not familiar with just to get home to find out I didn't get sale prices. There were no obvious clues, nor a word from the cashier about signing up for the "club". I feel like I was cheated.

This store is always clean with fully stocked shelves. Most of the employees are not very friendly though. I remember back in the day when most of the ppl who worked here knew you by name and would say "hello" but its like they are not allowed to act human. But thats just personal opinion, cash register ppl are friendlier and the store is wonderful.

It's ok. Compared to Meijer, Kroger, or even Walmart 2 miles north, their prices are 50% to 70% higher. Never shop here unless you absolutely need to. I could list dozens of items, but I'll just list 1 example as of 03/12/23; Unsweetened almond milk. Same brand, same size. Walmart had it (Not on sale) for $3.36, Chief priced it about 70 PERCENT MORE EXPENSIVE at $5.69!!!! Rediculous. Just insane. Zero reason to go here except maybe for alcohol. They have some decent selections and thanks to state law they can't gouge you on the prices for alcohol.

Went in for their 4 for $10 soda sale, like I’ve done many times. Then I was charged $25 for the 4 sodas. Didn’t catch it until I was home, and realized they didn’t put the sale on it. I wasn’t asked, nor was I offered the “membership” they have for some reason came up with now. Usually they have a card at the register that they scan so people get the deals. I was in there a week ago & they gave me the deal then! Really disappointed in them. And they did nothing to help when I brought it up.

This store has everything you need with a HomeTown atmosphere and affordable prices. The cashiers and managers genuinely care about their customers , they and the other employee saw make sure the store it's clean and welcoming.

So I am a favoritism kinda gal! First off, I support local!! Secondly, my grandpa owned and operated a Chief's franchise from 1938 - 1954, yes, I personally never knew my grandfather - but so many have told me about what kind of man he was... and how he always put customers first. So Chief's does have my sentimental preference. That aside, great employees & they always have a great selection. Plus, I truly enjoy that they stay open late for the community needs.
