I would love to start by saying that the person behind the counter with the bushy beard and ear buds has the best can do attitude I've ever seen. I've gone for year but he is the real reason I've always came back, he is always so happy and ready to serve you with a smile.To the people complaining about the cats let them be. They don't harm anything I seen one it kinda looks like grumpy cat's father. I love cats and seeing them makes my day but back to the cashier you have made my visit a 10/10Thank you for the amazing service!

They have 24 flavors of soft serve ice cream and 32 flv for shakes. We stop by here every time after we visit oldmans cave. They have hot foods as well, like sandwiches, pizza, burgers, fries and more. Their cheeseburger was a bomb. If you like Wasabi, you should try cheddar horseradish flavor chips. It was good. This store is for carry out, so there is no chair or table to eat but a couple of benches in outside. They have not only foods but also all kind of nick nacks that would be useful if you are camping in the area. They also sell alcohols too.

I never leave bad reviews but whoever owns this store should really take these reviews and consider replacing your cashier. He is exactly how everyone describes. Our family used to love coming here. The cashier made us feel like intruders. He had headphones on listening to music and didn't even aknowledge us. His vibe is that we are totally interrupting his time by coming in the store. I would definitely go to Grandma Fays instead where employees actually like having customers. This store will probably go down if management doesn't do something about this annoyed employee. He also left a huge tub of money on the counter while going to the kitchen. Literally the worst employee I've ever seen.

Great little store packed full of necessities. They have great soft serve ice cream in 24 flavors and shakes in even more flavors. The deli sandwiches looked great and they were selling a lot of them but we just came for ice cream. The line moves quickly, the cashier is where you order you deli item and ice cream. Definitely will be back.

The man behind the counter was incredibly rude. Didn’t even greet us, muttered something wasn’t available in that size, and then actually rolled his eyes when we asked about sizing. Workers were barking orders back at people to pick up and if someone didn’t respond fast enough they chuck it in the trash. Then one worker said to another worker in front of everyone in the store, “not sure what they expect, a five star service.”No but we do expect you to have some level of customer service and be polite. Thought I would come on here and give them the best star service they earned.German chocolate was terrible, chocolate “okay”, and Birthday cake “okay” nothing amazing about the ice cream.The place was also incredibly dusty with a layer of dust on a lot of the prepackaged food.Next time we will drive 5 miles to the establishment that actually wants to service customers.

Our family stopped after hiking the caves. We felt like a total inconvenience to them. It was the worst ice cream and service we have ever had. The ice cream was sour, and as far as 24 flavors? One squirt of awful tasting flavoring does not count. The vanilla was even bad.Customer service = 0 They made my son feel awful and barked at us the things they do not offer. We will never go back. Save yourself the time and hit the DQ a few miles up the road. I wouldn’t even give this 1 star.

They have excellent soft serve ice cream, and they are very convenient if you are in need of something but don't want to drive to Logan to get it. My only complaint is that the young man at the register could be just a bit more personable and a little less obvious with his opinions. You don't always need to speak your mind to get your point across, and I am certain he is well aware of that. The hard glares and extremely cold demeanor were very off-putting. Next, go around, I'll be trying out the shop closer to Logan that advertises 32 or 35 flavors of the soft serve vs. the 24 offered here to see if (one) the ice cream is just as good or better and (two) the service is warmer.

Have stopped here in the past and the ice cream was delicious. Was there over Veterans Day weekend and got the fudge brownie and couldn't even tell it was chocolate! Have had their German chocolate cake in the past and it was delicious but my daughter got it this time and said hardly any flavor. I don't know what they changed but they definitely need to fix it

Get the ice cream!!!!!!! We stop as many times as possible when we visit!!!! Banana chocolate twist. Pistachio and chocolate twist were my last 2 I tried. My husband got blueberry and banana twist. My son got German chocolate and peanut butter twist. All were amazing!!!!!

Such a cute little general store! Last stop before Old Man's Cave + Cedar Falls ect, and cabins. You can get deli sandwiches/hot ones too. Pizza as well & so much more! Alcohol because that's important too! Forgot your water before your hike they got that too! The chili dogs are a family favorite & just as amazing as the soft serve ice cream. Which my whole family loves as well! We always have to stop on our way home after a hike in the hills! LOVE this little gem ❤️

Such a cute little convenience store off the beaten path! It was charming and welcoming. Easy to locate and had a little bit of everything you might need for a weekend away. Forgot sugar? They’ll have it. Forgot sour cream? They’ve got it!

The place to stop. After a day of hiking, stop by for ice cream or lunch. They have ready made deli sandwiches, beer, wine, and basic groceries. Nice porch to enjoy after visiting the park.

Quaint old-fashioned general store. It's in an ideal spot for people visiting Hocking hills. They serve hot food like burgers and hot dogs. My favorite is their soft serve ice cream. They have 48 flavors and is the best I've tasted. Prices are very reasonable.

Overall a decent place to stop for the kids to cool off and take a break from hiking. Unfortunately half of the flavors of soft-serve ice cream were out. But the biggest disappointment wasn't the location or food items, it was the cashier... Total lack of customer service, other workers behind the scenes seemed very pleasant. The cashier on the the other hand..... Just seemed plain rude.. overall great location to take a breather from the hiking.

After reading mixed reviews, we rushed through dinner to be sure to arrive during the ice cream serving window. We looked up the flavors ahead of time to be sure to have our orders ready as suggested. Well all the negative reviews became our reality. Arriving at 7:30 we were told they would not be serving any more ice cream as they handed cones to the people standing next to us. Standing there with our three and six year old who had been looking forward to this as an end of the day treat, I asked them to reconsider and make an exception for us, but they would not. Meanwhile a child outside dropped his cone and he was given another. Our kids saw this and immediately saw the inequity. Shame on them. We drove to Grandma Faye’s on a whim and were greeted and served cheerfully the most delicious hand scooped ice cream. A perfect way to end our day. Go to Grandma Faye’s where they are both happy to see you and serve you.

We were in line to get soft serve ice cream. When we got to the counter the worker informed us the ice cream machine automatically shuts off at 7:30 and we could not be served. I looked at my watch it was 7:31. I wish we would have known you were not serving what you were advertising during your posted working hours.

Oh my the flavors!! I had a twist of waffle cone banana and raspberry. Pick your flavor if possible before entering. The small place gets crowded. The service is quick & matter of fact, order and step aside. Someone will bring your ice cream to you. I wanted to stop again but we left town too early, 7am.

POTENTIAL CUSTOMER BEAWARE!! The ice cream is delicious, I only had chocolate vanilla twist so I can’t speak on behalf of other flavors. It did seem peculiar to me that the flavors are are small bottles of syrup that get pumped or poured into your order. However this is where my good experience ends. Words cannot describe the rudeness of the employees, from the cashier to the ones scooping the ice cream. This was downright ridiculous. I have read many bad reviews (from a customer service standpoint) and they are spot on. If your customers bother you that badly, maybe you should consider doing something different for your career. This was our second experience with rude service here the past 6 months. If it were possible to give this experience negative stars, this would surely be the place to deserve it.

We went on a Saturday afternoon. Parking was packed. We knew we’d have to wait which wasn’t the issue. They had given my fiancé the ice cream as we waited on the burgers to be cooked. Waited 20 more mins for the burgers as the ice cream was melting all over his hands. It was okay food but may be good to try another place out before this one!

Went here last week on my visit to Old Man’s Cave just for ice cream. Wish there was more seating as it was fairly crowded and didn’t have many places to sit. The ice cream had many flavors and was very delicious, but they were out of Chocolate, Strawberry and Peanut Butter when we went which was disappointing as most of us wanted Chocolate.

Amazing ice cream...but 1st day I got a huge cone and 2nd day it was barely over the top of my cone....huge difference in quantity of ice cream?? Obviously being a convenience store, they're expensive but have a little bit of everything...nice people...tons of stray cats and had a "back woods" hillbilly feel...lolBut damn good ice cream!

Very yummy ice cream, we went twice! They take vanilla ice cream and mix it with a flavor then press it into a typical soft serve ice cream cone. The signs are little unsure of themselves, they advertise 24 flavors AND 40 flavors...not sure how many they have but they do have a lot of them and they area posted around the store.There are flavors like peanut butter, bubble gum, cotton candy, tutti fruitti, lemon, lime, orange, strawberry, raspberry, cheesecake, pistachio, amaretto, German chocolate cake, cake batter, etc. A baby cone is $1.75, a small (a good size) is $2.50, and a large is $3.00 with a waffle is $3.50. Add sprinkles or another flavor for 50 cents. They also have root beer floats, sundaes, and milkshakes.The people there are very nice and helpful. It is about 2 miles from Old Man's Cave. We look forward to going again when we are down in the Old Man's Cave area.

Ice cream is good but the chic working the register obviously doesn't want to be there and had a major attitude 😒. Was that kind of atmosphere 4 years ago when we stopped there and its the same way now. We will not go there ever again. Grandma's is the place to go.
