LarderRoom...I recently visited the Save A Lot grocery store in Hillsboro, Ohio. I like the layout of the store, and most items were easy to find. The prices for most items seemed in line with their competition. I did notice some great deals on meats. I didn't, however, notice any usda beef grading? Not sure that's a deal breaker, just something I noticed. Also, there are lots of great deals in the frozen section. Overall, I will be back.

The cashier was very friendly and courteous. I give a three because of pricing on the no name brands in the store.

I go to save a lot for mostly a variety of meat s they have a butcher on site so convenient,and prices are very reasonable

If you want an easy in and out grocery store with lower prices, this is it. The manager has special ordered a couple of things in bulk for me that has saved my family $$$, she's fantastic. I shop here for reduced meats. Got a PKG of 8 pork steaks for around $3 on April 17th, 2024.

You can find a few deals. They offer the best meat selection in town. Watch the dates in the dairy section though.... they routinely have expired milk, and yogurt on the shelf.

Cashier was rude. Apparently I'm supposed to automatically know how your computer works. I had my 3 daughters pebt cards. So I had to use 2 of them since my total was more than what they each have..I did not know I had to tell her it only had so much on it.she was very rude saying well you have to tell me before you run it. Well I don't work there, I don't know how your register works,different stores work different.

Save a lot is a nice store. As like any store it's getting to high on there prices. I seen things that I use to buy a few years back ( example ~ package of pepperoni used to be 4.99 a bag. Now it's 11.99 ). Potatoes 8.00 for #10 . It use to be 1.99 for #10. Milk was 3.59 a gallon and it use to be $ .99 cents a gallon. It's getting crazy. My husband and I went in and spent almost $100.00 for 3 bags of groceries.

I'm impressed. I used to work a Krogers 40 yrs. And I didn't think any store could beat Kroger prices,variety, and quality but save a lot have decent prices and a pretty good variety and the quality of their product ain't all that bad either so I give them a thumbs up

This is a great place to get a good bargain. The staff is always so friendly compared to other local groceries. Some of the stuff is hit or miss, quality wise. I bought cream cheese and it was literally the exact same company as Walmarts. But I bought icing and it tasted like plastic. Most of it is the same though, and a lot cheaper.

Cost efficient groceries, not a huge selection of name brand products but a quant and cozy spot to do your shopping easily accessible . Attentive staff ,very customer minded. The only negative is the bagging situation as in bag your own groceries and bring you own bags or buy them for 10 cents a piece. But all in all a great place to shop if you favor quantity over quality.

I love this location when I'm on a budget, and need groceries! I've been going to this location for years. You can buy bags, bring your own, or use the boxes they have on hand and bag it yourself. Prices are a little cheaper than W*lmart. They have a meat box with roast, hamburger, sausage, bacon, and chicken that's a great deal! Aisles aren't overcrowded, and good customer service here.

7/16/2018: This location does not enforce a no shoes no shirt policy. Was in there today and a woman had two of her kids running around without shoes or shirts and letting them put their dirty feet all over the food and products. Very disgusting. When reported to the cashier, she said she didn't know anything!! Also, only one cashier was working and the line was literally to the back of the store.Terrible customer service. Prices posted are not correct. Cashiers are very rude.

Sells food and paper goods only.Has more name brands than previously.Checking out is pretty fast.Save money because you bag or box your own order.DOESN'T MOVE things around so often making it easier to get in,and find what your looking for and get the heck out faster!

Absolutely one of the best places I've delivered to, not only were they on time and QUICK in/out but they also gave me free of charge of my in store purchases. You can also stay as long as you wish. Plus it's a small shopping center that you shop and eat. Everything is close by

A fairly cheap store for groceries and such. It's OK for the basics, and has a fair selection of fresh vegetables. If you're all about name brands, including Coke, go somewhere else. But if generic is ok, give Save-A-Lot a try.

I am from Fl, multi race place, when I walk in any place in Hillsboro i feel uncomfortable with the people, sorry I forgot to mention I am an olive skin tone color woman. Means for those that don't know what that means, i am a color person, and i have to say Ohian people are not friendly. I love Ohio. The employees in save a lot are very nice. Save a lot is my favorite place to buy my groceries.

Got nice selection of meat and vegetables at much lower prices last week got a 3lb bottom round roast for 9.89 same type almost looked alike some where else was like almost 25.00 and the roast I got at save alot was better tasting and leaner then the other one got good meat and still can get a steak T bone or rib eye that's nice and lean at save a lot for around 3.00 then having to pay 10.00 some where else

They are so nice, it doesn't matter how close to closing they will help you and you can't say that about just any store.
