We travel a lot and this is the worse goodwill we have ever been in. The place is a mess, broken glass just laying on the floor, people are rude and I am convinced the person that was up front doesn't actually speak. This does not bother us but his attitude and the fact it looks like a hoarder lives there we will never be going back and will probably just stop going to any of them. It's unacceptable. It's funny too because the prices were way over priced and that wasn't the main issue we had. $50 for a children's Columbia fleece jacket? a new one is cheaper.........

Dropping off stuff to donate like games and toys the man was very rude and said not to bring any more stuff so I figure good will doesn't need any donations. Also will never shop there again if they don't need donations I guess they don't need customers either

Went in to see if i could find a couch for our new apt bc we dont have anything they had one and wouldnt work on the price with me to help me out for this being a non profit i was upset that they wouldnt drop the price even 5$ to help a family get something they need so my family will be sitting on the floor for thanksgiving

Athens Goodwill can be hot or miss. The clothing variety is usually pretty good and changing often, which can likely be attributed to the region's diverse donor base. My chief complaint is that Athens Goodwill has begun selling new (rather than donated) goods, which changes their mission a bit. Additionally the prices of used items have jumped significantly in the past year, making it less accessible for a portion of its customer base.

Very clean and I usually leave with something good. Rating 3 stars because the prices are a high and they got rid of the dressing rooms. You can exchange items that do not fit within 7 days.

Do Not shop here!!! The customer service policies at this store are wretched, and the representatives are hit or miss, at best. I have been a 2-4 time per weekly customer to this store since they moved into the East State St. location, and occasionally patronized the store since its move to Columbus road. I’ve spent thousands of dollars and been an incredibly loyal customer for many many years. I visited the store on Columbus road today and had not one, but two egregious experiences, back to back! Very much to my disappointment, I will never spend another dollar at this store. I recommend New2You instead. Goodwill Athens will treat you like your business doesn’t matter. There is no way to reach out to higher management, and the buck stops there. 1/10

Most expensive Goodwill I've ever been to hands down! They Have no dressing rooms and I watch them turn an elderly woman down when she asked to use the restroom. You also want to pay close attention at checkout so that they don't overcharge you or add items to your check out "accidentally "

Prices are extremely high. It's not the goodwill of yesterday. I can't understand why they raised their prices so much when their inventory is all donations. Seems like they would sell more if prices were cheaper. I know I didn't buy anything. A used tshirt was $4.49, even a undershirt was this price. A single undershirt. Sweatshirt was $11. Unbelievable.

used to be affordable place for clothes and homegoods. they tore out the fitting rooms to make room for furniture that is always priced $25 or more now even if scuffed and wobbly. unfortunately won’t be supporting anymore.please consider New To You Shoppe or Upcycle Ohio

You see ALOT of donates items that never hit the sales floor. They literally google items to determine their prices. I've seen and heard them. This is supposed to be non-profit.......could have fooled me. Prices are outrageous. You can literally hear workers in the back telling each other to put that back for me or hey I want that so this "donated" item add to the list of never hitting the sales floor. This is Goodwill people not Abercrombie and Fitch or American Eagle. Goodwill to help those in need not practically charge retail prices. I was told regarding a plate for $35 well it's handpainted. Wth shaking my head. I'm over and do with it. Sad.

Used to be a nice place to find household goods and kids toys at a reasonable price.Now they have all there prices out the roof. Its like going to wal mart and pay new prices for used items.

Sorry to see the changing rooms go so no place to try on clothes but you can exchange in 7 days. But lots of variety of clothing, household miscellaneous, and books. Donations accepted at side door.

This goodwill is clean and had some nice things but only 1 star for the annoyance of having to leave mid-shopping because my child had to use the bathroom. And there are no stores nearby to go into! There is nothing more annoying than a store that is nice and obviously offers restrooms for employees to not allow a child (or adult) a place to use the bathroom. Definitely don’t recommend for families shopping.

UPDATE: Prices Have Reached An Extreme To The Point I Will No Longer Shop Here. Regardless If It's Name Brand Or Not You Def Should Not Be Charging $15 For A USED Shirt That Was GIVEN To This Place. Completely Ridiculous & Disappointed. Don't Waste Your Time.. And Definitely Don't Donate Your Stuff Here, Take It Down The Road To New To You Or Restore/Upcycle. At Least They Actually Are For A Good Cause. Goodwill Should Be Ashamed Of Themselves.Extremely Expensive Considering Most Of Their Inventory Are Donated! Honestly You'd Be Much Better Off To Check Out Restore or New To You.

I really like it at Goodwill they got great prices some of the prices I thought were high but I paid good money for great items,they have tons of cloths n various things, I bought a lot of hoodies and a lot of comfy pants, I was very excited to go my first time, and I had a great experience. The employees was very kind n helpful. I think people would like it to, n enjoy their selves.

Discriminatory no exceptions mask policy. Can’t even wear a face shield which makes no sense because those offer even more protection. Thought I could go back w a face shield since I can’t wear a mask but nope. Says on their website that they aren’t allowed which proves that this is not about health or science. Every other business with strict face covering policies has been fine with a face shield as it works even better than a mask. This policy violates the ADA.This review is aimed at Goodwill Industries nationwide, I know that it isn’t just this store and the employees are forced by the larger corporation to enforce the discriminatory policy. I feel bad that the employees are being forced to bother customers like this. They need to be paid more if they are going to be put into potentially confrontational situations over such a controversial issue. It’s not right.

As of 2017, the store seems to be a lot cleaner and well run BUT that has come at the cost of finding anything unusual it seems. In a word the offerings other than clothing are sparse. They used to have a big section for furniture: gone. And about 100 neckties at any one time, so it was fun to hunt through them for the odd, clean, vintage gem: gone. So really, other than clothes there just isn't that much to recommend about the store nowadays.

Not a good selection, prices are alright for what they do have. Would bot recommend entering this goodwill unless you have hand sanitizer on standby, always makes me feel gross. If you want a goodwill, go to Logan.

Usually always have a pleasant experience with goodwill of athens. Sometimes I feel the prices can be a bit high but if I feel that is the case I may ask if they can do better or just put it back and look at another local thrift store. But I do recommend people to shop here as it does help the community as well.

The inside of the store organized ok. But the donation area outside is discusting. Trash, clothing and miscellaneous items thrown about. While empñyees hang out in the office area. Please get it ckeaned people.

Their prices are higher than most Goodwills, including ones in bigger city's like Parkersburg or Columbus and they don't have nearly as much selection as others either. They do keep it really organized and clean.
