I loved this store the first couple years it was open… but now it’s become so useless! They went from always having un safely over crowded isles to their renovations and now they don’t have hardly anything necessary available on their shelves anymore. I walk in and they are basically empty. I miss the dollar general that used to be. Why don’t they hire someone to stock shelves over night?dollar general uses to be a huge value to our community as a small town, no longer the help it once was. I heavily rely on Amazon and avoid this store now. I went in one day and their fresh foods truck had comeBefore 11 and it was after 2 and sitting out… why didn’t they just put the carts outside in the freezing cold …. I don’t get fresh foods there anymore since that happened I question if I’m getting spoiled food .

It's the dollar store! It's cheap household items at cheap prices. You need your toiletries, snacks, drinks, medicine, and even underwear. Hometown service, at least alot better than most.

Closed all the time. They are closed again today. I rarely go in there but the other day instead of going to the grocery store I was right here. I should have gone to the grocery store, what a mess. Stuff was blocking one whole isle. I got what I needed and left. It's very disappointing when a lot of people rely on them so they can buy reasonable priced products.

One person working, Just 1. The manager can’t do it all, she is run ragged and she is rude to customers. It is a hit and miss when the store is open. Make a trip to the location, find out when we get there, “closed due to a big truck we received “ sorry but that is not acceptable. The store just went through a extensive renovation, would be really nice if the right people were working there.

Why is this place even still open? I was impressed the first time I came to this store about 4 yrs ago and has gone down hill to being an empty shell of what it once was. From over crowded isles you can't get too or they are empty shelves with nothing useful in the store. Don't waste a trip to this store.

They have been closed everyday for “stocking” closing at 11am til 7-8pm. The workers are rude and the store is always a disaster. Family dollar can take my business.

Dollar general in valley city nd is good when its stocked. They went to big to soon and the store manager no longer cares about the store. ... Just like the empty leevers store its know been a year. Walmart wanted to come to valley city nd but the mayor said no. Something has to be done or this town will crumble. People dont know the damage there doing. By being careless . the store was good till the upgrade atl least i could find things and wasnt running into people all the time. And it was stocked. Someone be dollar ger berals store mananger or someone go in there make sure the manager is calling in orders for thexstore to be stocked.its notcthe super virus its the manager not calling in forctruck orders.And treat your employess better too.

This store has been a joke for years now, constantly packed with carts of items so you cant shop, hours are never true because the constantly close when they feel like it, and no one is ever staffing the checkout

We enjoy the store, the staff is always friendly and good service. Just wish the isles where a bit wider and when staff is constantly suppling shelves with products it makes it very hard to shop at times. Still one of my favorite places to shop!

Good for a quick stop for snacks school and office supplies that have a variety of beauty and Cosmetics and body soaps deodorant etc paper supplies household supplies etc storage containers etc pop ,water etc one thing is its vary low lighting like other places are vary bright lighting its hard to see around in such low lighting area check it out cheap inexpensive and quality is good on most items did have to return a cooler with the handle that broke off but other then that its ok check everything before you buy they ask so have good quality on kids things like hair bands brushes etc for girls some things for boys and girls in toy section just a cheap place for your buck. they are good at replacing an item if something was bought that wasn't the right item and good for an exchange or money back

I love dollar general and the different variety that they offer and the ability to be able to shop in town. But, sometimes it get over crowded with stock carts in the way of products and in the walk way.

Found some white Christmas lights so I don't have to got to yucky Fargo! I hate being around a ton of people in stores at this time of year. It is all too commercialized the corrupted world has forgotten why this day is celebrated!

For a dollar store in Valley City, ND, this place is pretty good. It was very clean and well organized. I spent the most time looking at the food. They had a good selection and very responsible prices. The cashier was very friendly.

It's a busy place and although the lines get long they do their best to get you through quick. They always stock the shelves and they do their best to answer your questions..

Looking for electrician's tape. They said they had it; I asked where, but received no help finding it. Zero. Zilch. I finally found some tape, but all they had was masking. Found hobby tape in another location. As far as I know, they didn't have electrical tape and never had; it would have saved me quite a bit of walking if they had just said so.

Theres loading carts everywhere and it makes it really difficult to get to anything. And hard to navigate the store if you have a cart.

Hours are posted however the so called manager (rude, talking on the phone, yelling across the store, smokes like a chimney) closes the store often with only a note taped to the door.
